Delhi Technological University hikes fees for 2025–26 across major courses
Delhi Technological University (DTU) has officially announced a hike in its annual fees across multiple undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the academic session 2025–26. Texas Tech Alumni Association announces transition to become part of university
The Texas Tech Alumni Association is joining the university, shifting away from its previous status as a separately operated non-profit organization, leaders from Tech and the Alumni Association announced in a joint statement late Wednesday. According to its website, the Alumni Association has been an independent non-profit organization established by the first graduating class of Texas Technological College, now Texas Tech University. Leaders from the Texas Tech System, TTU and the Alumni Association released a joint statement late Wednesday announcing that the Alumni Association would become part of the university: The full statement, sent from an Alumni Association email account, reads: "As we set our sights on an even brighter future for Texas Tech University, we are excited to share a new era in our relationship with the Texas Tech Alumni Association (TTAA). To strengthen the connection between Texas Tech and our alumni, the TTAA will now transition to become part of the university. This new alignment with TTAA will ensure stronger integration of our shared mission and Texas Tech's long-term goals. This change allows us to enhance stewardship, streamline operations and increase transparency while continuing to deliver the programs and traditions you value most. From scholarship support and alumni events to cherished milestones like the class ring, the experiences that define Red Raider pride will continue under this new structure. The Association reported just over $7 million in total revenue in 2023, nearly $5 million in expenses and net assets of about $17.6 million. Its revenue came largely from membership contributions - about $3 million - along with rental income, sponsorships and other income. Its expenses included about $2.7 million listed as program expenses, $1.4 million in fundraising expenses and about $800,000 for management and general expenses, according to the report. Other information about the circumstances leading to the Alumni Association's transition to the university, as well as potential impacts to employees and members, was not immediately available. A spokesperson for the Alumni Association referred A-J requests for comment and additional information to the university. Officials with the university were not immediately available to comment. Mango Mela at Hebbal in Bengaluru on June 14-15
BENGALURU Mango lovers in Bengaluru are in for a treat this weekend as the Hebbal Mango Mela will be held on June 14 and 15. The two-day event, jointly organised by the Alumni Association of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation Limited, and the Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka, will showcase mango varieties from across India. Held at the Alumni Association premises in the Veterinary College campus at Hebbal, the mela will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. Visitors can expect a wide array of fresh, farm-grown mangoes directly from growers, offering a chance to taste and purchase authentic seasonal produce. Organisers say the fair aims to support mango farmers and promote the diversity of Indian mango varieties while also encouraging healthy, local fruit consumption. In addition to the fruit stalls, the event is expected to include awareness initiatives on mango cultivation and marketing.

Alumni of a government school in Kodagu reunite to renovate the age-old institution
MADIKERI: As several government schools are struggling to see the light of the day due to non-maintenance, an alumni association of a government school in Kodagu is striving towards renovating the institution. Funds adding to over Rs 10 lakh are being collected to enable the renovation and revival process of the school building. The Suntikoppa Government Primary School, established 108 years ago, has educated lakhs of students. The institution was expanded with high school education 44 years ago. However, the lack of funds for development works had remained a challenge. The institution did not even record a centenary celebration due to financial issues. However, the alumni of the institution became active recently and are now involved in the revival process of the institution. Recently, a group of alumni organised a reunion event as a Guru Vandhana programme, which witnessed participation from the former teaching staff. The Alumni Association was launched as plans took shape to renovate the school building, which is in a vulnerable condition.

UoS opens Spain chapter of alumni body
In a significant step to broaden its global alumni network, the University of Sharjah has inaugurated the Executive Committee of its Alumni Association in the Kingdom of Spain. This marks the association's first regional chapter outside the Arab world and its seventh international and regional chpater overall. The launch was celebrated at an official gathering organised by the Alumni Association in collaboration with the UAE Embassy in Madrid, attended by Ibrahim Ali Al Nuaimi, Chargé d'Affaires at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Madrid., Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, Dr. Amal Al Ali, Director of the Alumni Association Office, and Dr. Ahmed Al Mahdi, Director of the University's Scholarship Unit, alongside a distinguished group of graduates from various disciplines. The establishment of the chapter aims to foster enduring connections between alumni and their alma mater, empowering graduates to serve as ambassadors for the University of Sharjah at academic and professional forums worldwide. This initiative is set to further the University's vision and mission on the international stage. In his opening remarks, Ibrahim Al Nuaimi expressed his pride in this pioneering initiative, commending the university's dedication to strengthening ties with its graduates abroad. Previous executive committees have been established in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman, Jordan, and Bahrain. Wafaa Laalaoui, the new committee chair, who holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University in 2021 and is currently a final-year Master's researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, expressed her pride in being part of the University of Sharjah, affirming the committee's commitment to strengthening alumni connections, building an interactive network that reinforces their academic and institutional identity, and encouraging active participation in scientific and community initiatives.
