Cardi B Unveils Cover Art And Release Date For Highly Anticipated Sophomore Album
The wait for Cardi B's long-awaited second album is almost over after the Grammy-winning emcee announced the LP's title, cover art, and release date on Monday (June 23). Bardi's sophomore album, Am I the Drama?, is slated for release on Sept. 19. The day prior, the rapper teased the announcement on Instagram. 'Seven years and the time has come. Seven years of love, light and loss,' Cardi stated in the visualizer. 'Seven years I gave them grace, but now I give them hell. I learned power's not given; it's taken. I'm shedding feathers and no more tears. I'm not back; I'm beyond. I'm not your villain; I'm your karma. The time is here. The time is now.' The 23-track LP will include previously released hits, 'WAP,' and 'Up' as well as Cardi's latest drop, 'Outside.' After the rapstress already blamed the extensive delay on her collaborators, SZA quipped in the comments of the album announcement, 'Lemme send this verse chile.' Back in May, a frustrated Cardi said on social media, 'I really need these f**king features and it's like I'm not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down. But it's like come on now! I need that! […] I really need y'all and I need y'all to hurry up and I love y'all. I feel like nobody want to miss being on this album.' Her debut LP, Invasion Of Privacy, produced two Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits and a Grammy for Best Rap Album. Every track is also at least certified platinum by the RIAA. Cardi B fires back: why older hits 'WAP' and 'UP' deserve a spot on her new album
Taking to X, Cardi B has addressed critics who questioned as to why she decided to add songs that are almost five years old to her new sophomore album. Image: Instagram US rapper Cardi B has addressed the backlash she is facing for adding tracks that are three to four years old on her highly anticipated sophomore album 'Am I the Drama'. Fans of the 32-year-old rapper created a buzz on the internet after she made the announcement and also shared the cover of her second album, which is scheduled to drop later this year on September 19. However, the excitement was followed by criticism online after Cardi B added songs such as 'WAP' and 'UP', which many claimed that she added because of how well they did. Both songs surpassed more than a billion streams on all streaming platforms, and online critics expressed that adding the songs was a cheat code to have an album that already had high numbers of streams before its release. I personally think no singles older than 2 years should be allowed on your new album,' @Ami_truthteller said. "She really added them 5-year-old songs just so she can have another IOP (Invasion of Privacy) lmaooo. This honestly made me lose respect for her cuz why can't you do it authentically," @Vonbucksss1 commented. The Grammy-award-winning rapper clapped back at critics who questioned her decision to add the songs to the album. 'This will be the last and only time I'm gonna address this.. 'WAP' and 'Up' are two of my biggest songs, my fans have been asking me to put them on an album, and people search for them on IOP all the time … they deserve a home,' she said. 'These two songs don't even count for first week sales, so what are y'all even crying about??? Do ya say anything when all these artists pull out all of their little tricks and ponies to sell out??? Cardi B and Stefon Diggs Don Matching Leather Date Night Looks
An album announcement calls for celebration! Last night in Paris, Cardi B celebrated her forthcoming sophomore record, Am I the Drama?, alongside her boyfriend, Stefon Diggs. Summer weather be damned, the couple coordinated leather looks for their night out. Cardi opted for an over-the-top plunging leather blazer with strong shoulders and an outsized gold buckle from Balmain's pre-fall 2025 collection. But that's not all, folks! While her distressed mid-rise jeans gave the look a touch of nonchalance, Cardi tipped the scales in favor of sarotrial drama with a quilted black leather Jean Paul Gaultier sailor hat and teetering open-toed platforms. Diggs matched Cardi's energy in a black leather jacket with an olive green racing stripe worn over a white T-shirt. Playing off the stripe on his jacket, the Patriots wide receiver added a pair of olive pants held up by a snakeskin belt. Best Image / BACKGRIDUSA A unified front in their matching outfits, it's safe to say that the lyrics to Cardi B's new diss track 'Outside' (specifically 'Good-for-nothing, low-down dirty dogs, I'm convinced / Next time you see your mama, tell her how she raised a bitch') don't apply to Diggs. But, then again, 'Favorite player from your favorite team, he in my DM' might suggest otherwise…
