This ritual is believed to please ancestors and improve the family's happiness and well-being. They recite different prayers and mantras. They provide food for crows, cows, and dogs. Giving food, clothing, and other necessities to brahmins and to the underprivileged people is considered meritorious People go to temples to seek Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati for their blessings.
