Ignore the back to school checklists — this is the one thing your kid really needs to sleep well at college

Heading to college? Dorm room beds are notoriously just a step up from lying on the floor so take advantage of the Prime Day deals and save your sleep with the Siena Essential mattress now from $119 at Amazon. Research has shown good sleep helps you learn and while the best mattresses we've tested might be beyond a student budget, a new bed chosen for your needs can help you achieve quality sleep (and maybe even higher grades, although a mattress alone can't replace studying.) I've searched thousands of Amazon listings and in my opinion, the best Prime Day mattress deals 2025 are on budget beds. That's good news for college students — these twin XL mattress deals are perfect for your dorm room. And don't forget to check out our guide to the best Prime Day sleep deals, for savings on college essentials like ear plugs and eye masks. 1. Siena 8" Memory Foam Mattress: twin XL was $189.99 now $149 at AmazonSiena is responsible for the best cheap mattress we've tested and if you want a bed to see you through college and beyond, I recommend checking out the Siena 10" Memory Foam Mattress from $149 at Amazon. But if your budget is too tight, the 8" Siena should deliver similar support and comfort, if slightly less longevity and pressure relief. Still, we predict it should keep you snoozing through undergrad. And with a twin XL only $149, it's easy on the wallet. Plus, you get a 180-night trial and 10-year warranty. User score: ★★★★½ (700+ reviews) 2. EGOHOME 10" Memory Foam Mattress: twin XL was $153.50 now $139.87 at AmazonWe recently tested a couple of EGOHOME mattresses and this budget brand has impressed us with the overall quality at a low price. While we haven't tried the 10" model, our EGOHOME 12" Memory Foam Mattress review team praised the pressure relief of this all-foam design. The best memory foam mattresses cushion the body where you press into the bed, so we think this is a good choice for side sleepers. $139.87 for a twin XL isn't an unusual deal from EGOHOME but it's still an impressive price, particularly if you want to get the most out of your money. User score: ★★★★½ (1,600+ reviews) 3. Novilla 10" Memory Foam Mattress: twin XL was $146.73 now $129.99 at AmazonI often spot Novilla among the best selling mattresses on Amazon and this budget-brand has plenty of affordable picks for anyone heading to college. My top choice is the 10" Memory Foam Mattress, now $129.99 for a twin XL on Amazon (was $146.73.) That's the cheapest it's been in a while and it comes with a 100-night trial and 10-year warranty. At 10" thick it's deep enough to support adult bodies and the shaped foam layer enhances breathability, to help you sleep cooler. User score: ★★★★★ (100+ reviews)

There are hundreds of mattresses on sale this week — these are the 7 deals actually worth shopping, from $149

Prime Day landing so soon after the 4th of July sales means we've been drowning in mattress sales for weeks. If you're trying to buy a new bed but are fatigued by the sheer mass of sales coming at you on a daily basis, I can help. I track sleep deals month in, month out, and in my opinion there are really only 7 worth browsing right now – and I've rounded them up right here. One of these standout 'better-than-Black Friday' bargains is the Siena Memory Foam Mattress, one of the top recommended options in our best mattress of 2025 guide. Today a queen Siena is down to $278 (was $359) at Amazon – that's the cheapest price I've seen it go for. The Siena is an excellent option for guest rooms and dorm beds, with a twin priced $149 (was $199) thanks to 25% off. Here are the six other great mattress sales I recommend this week... 1. Siena Memory Foam Mattress: twin was $199 now $149 at AmazonSiena usually holds a regular 605 off sale that freezes a queen Memory Foam at $359, but there's an even cheaper deal on this budget all-foam bed over at Amazon. The retail giant's deal takes queen to $278 (and comes with a 180-night trial, 10-year warranty and free shipping), which is much cheaper than Black Friday's $340 queen deal. We named the Siena as the best cheap mattress as our testers for the Siena Memory Foam Mattress review were blown away by the support and value of money the bed provides. 2. Saatva Classic Mattress: twin was $1,399 now $999 at SaatvaWe think the Saatva Classic is the best hybrid mattress you can buy for a multitude of reasons, from its customizable comfort (it comes in three feels) to its high-quality materials. It's one of the comfiest luxury beds on the market and achieved a full 5/5 score in our Saatva Classic mattress review during a recent retesting. The great news is it's now $400 off all sizes when you use our link above. A queen is now $1,699 (was $2,099), and you'll also get a lifetime warranty, a year-long sleep trial, and free mattress installation and old bed removal. 3. Siena 8' Essential Mattress: twin was $149 now $119 at AmazonWhile the Siena Memory Foam Mattress is our top deal, the Siena Essential shouldn't be overlooked either. The brand's cheapest (and thinnest) offering is perfect for guest rooms as a queen is only $179 (was $279) at Amazon (Siena is still selling a queen for $279) and you'll still get Siena's 180 night sleep trial and a 10-year warranty, too. 4. Allswell Organic 12" Mattress: twin was $577 now $298 at AllswellThe best organic mattresses do not come cheap, so the Allswell Organic is a remarkable find even when it's not on sale. While we have yet to test this budget buy, we've looked at the GOTS Certified design and we are impressed. And at just $558 for a queen, it's a steal. 5. Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid Mattress: twin was $932 now $652.40 at Brooklyn BeddingAs we say in our Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Pro Hybrid mattress review this newcomer provided effective specialist cooling with a luxury feel, all while supporting combi sleepers, making it a top rated option in our best cooling mattress guide. Brooklyn Bedding is offering 30% with code FLASH30, a discount they only ever roll out for big sales events and federal holidays, reducing a queen to $932.40 (was $1,332). You'll also get a 120-night sleep trial, and a lifetime warranty, and free shipping. 6. Helix Midnight Luxe Mattress: twin was $1,436 now $1,048 at Helix with code TOM27The Helix Midnight Luxe is our No 1 pick in our guide to the best mattress for side sleepers, and you can now get a 27% off deal with our exclusive discount code TOMS27, taking a queen Helix Midnight Luxe from $2,398.66 to $1,751.03. This is a great exclusive deal that will save you more than the current non-exclusive 25% sale and the regular 20% sale. A 100-night sleep trial and lifetime limited warranty is also included. 7. Leesa Studio Mattress: twin was $549 now $384 at LeesaLeesa's more affordable bed, the Studio, just got cheaper thanks to a 30% discount that overtakes the brand's standard 20%-25% sales. This takes a queen to $559 (down from $77), which is just outside cheap mattress territory. We tried the budget-friendly mattress in our Leesa Studio mattress hand-on review, and found the mattress to deliver the same soothing relief you'd find in more expensive, luxury mattresses. Plus, you'll get a 100 nights to try it for yourself. While a lot of people think that bargain-hunting for mattresses should only be limited to the big five sales — Presidents' Day sales in February, Memorial Day sales in May, Labor Day in September, and Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales in November and December — which all occur outside of summertime, great discounts can be found throughout the summer months. The 4th of July mattress sales are still ongoing (an we predict they will carry on until Mid-July) while Amazon Prime Day in July will surely bring us some great deals on bargain beds and brand-name mattresses alike. Also, the early Labor Day mattress sales usually start around August, with some brands offering the same Labor Day discount in August and September. In short, the best time to buy a mattress depends on how strategic you are when summer shopping. Brands such as Saatva, Helix, and Brooklyn Bedding tend to offer discounts that are actually better than their run-of-the-mill sales. You'll know when you're looking at the better Saatva mattress sales when you see a $400 off discount (this deal is better for the cheaper Saatva models) or a 15% off sale (better if you want to buy a more expensive Saatva mattress). Meanwhile, Helix mattress sales can offer some great savings, while Brooklyn Bedding bring out their 30% off sales during big sales events. Amazon can also surprise with generous flash deals on some of the top-selling Amazon mattresses (which include big brands such as Nectar and DreamCloud).

Mega Memorial Day budget mattress deal drops the Siena Essential bed to just $109 — shop before it's gone!

Memorial Day is one of the best times of year to score a deal on a cheap bed and I've found budget-friendly savings on expert-tested and approved Siena mattresses: buy a Siena mattress from just $109 at Amazon. I tried the Siena 10" Memory Foam Mattress and as a stomach sleeper, the support impressed me. I struggle with sinking hips on some all-foam mattresses but the Siena kept my spine lifted and pain-free — we rate it among the best mattresses you can buy online. These Siena savings at Amazon are dominating the cheap mattress deals this Memorial Day. I've rounded up the biggest budget mattress deals to browse now, but if you want more options you'll find all the latest discounts in our Memorial Day mattress sales hub. Siena 8" Memory Foam Mattress: twin was $149 now $109 at AmazonSiena's all-foam Essential mattress pairs a simple design with a wealth of mattress knowledge (Siena is part of Resident Home, owner of DreamCloud and Nectar mattresses) to deliver sleep comfort for even the tightest budget. At just eight inches tall this mattress isn't one we'd recommend for long-term adult use, but it's ideal for growing teens, guest rooms, or anyone who needs a quick replacement for a bed that's given up the ghost. We predict a firmer feel that suits back and stomach sleepers — side sleepers might want to add some extra cushioning via a mattress topper. Down to its lowest price ever, a queen 8-inch Siena is now $179 at Amazon (was $279) and comes with a 180-night trial and a 10-year warranty. User score: ★★★★½ (500+ reviews) 1. Siena 10" Memory Foam Mattress: twin was $199 now $158 at AmazonThe best cheap mattress we've tested, the Siena Memory Foam adds an extra two inches of foam to the Siena Essential to create superior support for adult bodies. If you have the budget to upgrade to this model, you can expect increased longevity and a more plush feel — although this firm mattress is still better suited to back and stomach sleepers. Our Siena Memory Foam Mattress review team felt that at full price this mattress provided great value for money, so with a queen reduced to a record low of $278 at Amazon (was $349) now is the time to shop. Our review: ★★★★ User score: ★★★★½ (500+ reviews) 2. Siena 12" Memory Foam Mattress: twin was $289 now $248 at AmazonTaller than the other mattresses in this guide, the 12-inch Siena uses three layers of foam to create less firm build than its thinner counterparts (we expect it to have a more traditional, body-hugging memory foam mattress feel.) We predict this extra comfort foam layer will provide more cushioning for side sleepers, preventing pressure build up at the shoulder and hip — and you have a 180-night trial to test it out. It's the most expensive mattress in this roundup, but with a queen coming in at only $328 (was $399) it's still a budget-friendly buy. User score: ★★★★½ (500+ reviews) More top sales to consider
