More recently, Susan featured at the Opening Ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 with her singing talent and is now poised to delight attendees at the forthcoming National Prayer Breakfast for Scotland in Edinburgh. Expressing her excitement to RSVP Live, she said: "I am thrilled to be performing at the Scottish Prayer Breakfast. My faith has always been my strength and backbone throughout my career."

Cabaret superstar headed to Mandurah
Adelaide entertainer, accordionist and cabaret superstar Hans, aka Matt Gilbertson, is headed to Mandurah Performing Arts Centre this July for his tour Young, Fun & 21. The Berlin-accented performer is sharing his birthday party with the stage, joined by a live band The Ungrateful Bastards and dance group The Lucky Bitches alongside other surprises aimed to keep the audience on their toes. Cabaret star Hans is performing at MPAC on July 4. Credit: Supplied A celebration of 21 years of the iconic character, Gilbertson said he is most excited for Hans to help his audience combat what could have been a stressful week with a 'lot of nonsense'. Your local paper, whenever you want it. 'With the way the world is at the moment, I think it's important to have a little fun and take the opportunity to decompress,' he said. 'What I like about cabaret is how free it is;it's not a musical, it's not a theatre piece, it's never set in stone, every show can be unique, which keeps it fun.' Having first taken to performing as an accordion busker in Adelaide shopping centres and fresh out of high school, Gilbertson said many of Hans' iconic characters came from people watching. 'That's kind of where it all started,' he said. 'While you're basking in these moments, you're really observing people and you start to make up stories about who these passers-by are in your mind. I kind of do the same thing now with my audience, you always do a quick scan at the start of the show to see who'll give you the best material on the night.' With a wide range of impressive accolades under his belt including Best Cabaret at Adelaide and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, grand finalist on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020 and having made his opera debut last year in State Opera South Australia's Candide, Hans continues to wow audiences across the globe. The show, which will hit the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre stage on July 4, is expected to provide a wild ride full of laughter, music and glittering moments that prove 21 has never looked better.

Watch the 'AGT' Golden Buzzer Dance Crew 45 Years in the Making
Watch the 'AGT' Golden Buzzer Dance Crew 45 Years in the Making originally appeared on Parade. There's never been a question that America's Got Talent's Terry Crews is Michigan proud. The Flint-born and raised host has previously shown his support for an act from Detroit when he twice named the Detroit Youth Choir his Golden Buzzer, frst for Season 14 and then for America's Got Talent: The Champions. So, it wasn't a big surprise that he continued the tradition by awarding the Detroit-based Funkateers his Golden Buzzer for Season 20. The Funkateers are a four-man dance crew who first performed in 1980 at their high school talent show, which they won. But the last time they all performed together was in 1989 at one of their weddings. 🎬 🎬 Initially, they performed at a lot of theaters, outside summer concerts and the like. But as they got older, they became fathers, so they had to put dancing on hold while they took day jobs in sales, financial services, maintenance and contracting. 'We've always believed that we were before our time,' they told judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara. 'That's why we came up with this idea. Let's give America's Got Talent a shot.' The judges had no clue what they were going to do. So when they got their groove on to Rick James' 'Give It To Me Baby,' there were smiling faces all around. Instead of returning to the stage, Terry headed down into the audience, while Simon said, 'Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.' Related: 'I love it when we start the day with an act that is perfect,' Sofia told them. 'You guys are what AGT is all about. You guys are great, you have a beautiful story, and you actually did what you were supposed to do. I loved it.' Then Howie added, 'As good as they were, and they were probably this good in high school, it's better that you did it now at this age. It makes it even better.' Terry was still making his way to the judges' table, and he popped up just as Simon was about to start talking. 'Listen, you are my Golden Buzzer. I got you!' Terry said. 'That was supposed to be mine,' Simon responded. Terry replied, 'These are my people.' 'I was going to do it,' Simon insisted. Related: Mel B, who earlier this season stole a Golden Buzzer from Sofia, told Simon, 'You snooze, you lose.' After the excitement and the confetti calmed down, Simon said, 'People sometimes say, 'What is the perfect audition.' It's something surprising and it just makes you feel amazing. I am not making this up. I was literally about to do that [press the Golden Buzzer] and out of the corner of my eye I saw [Terry] and I hated you and I loved you at the same time.' Terry declared, 'I had to Simon. It was too amazing. It shows that age ain't nothin' but a number.' America's Got Talent airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Streams next day on the 'AGT' Golden Buzzer Dance Crew 45 Years in the Making first appeared on Parade on Jun 18, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 18, 2025, where it first appeared.

BGT winner calls for U-turn on 'lazy' part of show after major change-up
BGT winner calls for U-turn on 'lazy' part of show after major change-up EXCLUSIVE: Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts says the change-up put in place this year "doesn't help with the diversity and range of acts" and called for a U-turn Simon Cowell reportedly 'gave the green light' to the auditions change-up Britain's Got Talent's first ever champion Paul Potts has urged the show's producers to re-evaluate their choice of auditioning exclusively in Blackpool. This season, auditions were solely filmed at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool unlike previous years where venues, such as the London Palladium, have been used. A source told TV Zone regarding the new format: "The Palladium is such an iconic venue but if you compare the shows in Blackpool to the ones they have filmed in London, the audience is way more up for it there. The auditions resume in the new year and they'll all be filmed up in Blackpool. "Boss Simon Cowell has given the green light to the move and just wants the show to be the best it can be." Paul, 54, has criticised the altered approach to the audition process, describing it as "lazy". When asked if he believes Britain is running out of talent for the show, he shared: "There's absolutely no shortage of talent in Britain, [there's] plenty of untapped potential out there. Article continues below "But the show needs to be more flexible in how it finds and selects that talent. "Just sticking to Blackpool for auditions this year felt, frankly, a bit lazy. I understand that it might have been a cost-cutting idea, even though securing the ballroom wouldn't have come cheaply, however, the limited outreach doesn't help with the diversity and range of acts," he added in association with Sky Vegas. PASADENA, CA - OCTOBER 17: Paul Potts arrives at "America's Got Talent: The Champions" Finale at Pasadena Civic Auditorium on October 17, 2018 in Pasadena, California. (Photo by) The tenor has since called for the production team to reverse their decision and "get back out on the road" to "really engage with people" and uncover "fresh, authentic talent". "And like I've said before, if they want to breathe new life into the show, let's do something bold. Make Blackpool a Vegas-style call-back round. Turn it into a proper second stage, not just a shortcut to the live shows," he continued. "That way you can really test and find the best acts." Paul added: "Britain has amazing talent – there's no question. But if we're seeing acts in the semi-finals that are getting three red buzzers, we have to ask, what are we doing? You start to risk the credibility of the show.' Tonight, the last remaining two acts will be selected for the upcoming final. Those who win the public vote and final golden buzzer will join; singers Hear Our Voice, Jasmine Rice, Stacey Leadbetter and Vinnie McKee, comedian Joseph Charm, dance group Ping Pong Pang, guitarist Olly Pearson and LED show act The Blackouts. On how he believes the final is shaping up currently, Paul warned singers about "a real risk" when it comes to song choice. "It's fairly finely balanced at this stage, but there's a real risk, as I've said before, the singers could end up cancelling each other out," he shared. "We've got a couple of crossover singers going through, but some of the repertoire decisions across the board have felt a bit off. I'm all for hearing something fresh and unexpected, songs that haven't been done to death, but it also needs to be right for the artist. It has to showcase their strengths."
