Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have officially ended their engagement seven years after Orlando proposed on Valentine's Day 2018. And apparently Katy is relieved that they never got married since now she doesn't have to navigate a painful divorce. Direct quote form an Us Weekly insider: "Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life." That said, the former couple almost got married right after their engagement—but then Covid happened, they had a daughter, and eventually hit a rough patch where marriage was simply "not on their radar." "They were looking forward to marrying fast after getting engaged and then COVID got in the way," a source recently told The Daily Mail. "[When] they got engaged, she was expecting, so everything came fast, and she was looking forward to heading down the aisle pregnant. It was actually something she wanted to happen. But with the unknown of COVID and travel restrictions, they had to postpone their nuptials." The insider added that "As time passed, she released new music, set up for a tour, left American Idol all while juggling being a new mom. There just wasn't anytime to put a wedding together. Which SEC school has the most famous alumni? Certainly, the Texas Longhorns boast several celebrities that went to school in Austin. Owen Wilson, Wes Anderson, Glen Powell, Renée Zellweger, Robert Rodriguez, Michael Dell and Angie Harmon just to name a few. Of course, the most famous current UT celeb is "Minister of Culture" Matthew McConaughey. With the huge institutions in the SEC, most schools have their own list of famous people that attended or graduated from there. We picked the most famous celebrity from each institution of higher learning and ranked the SEC members based on the fame of that list of 16 illustrious alumni. Celebrity Alumni Rankings Criteria: 1. Brad Pitt, actor - Missouri Tigers Everyone else on this list graduated from the schools they represent. But we'll give Pitt a pass since he was TWO WEEKS from graduation before moving to Hollywood. 2. TMZ was the first to report the news. Perry, 40, and Bloom, 48, first met in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty -- over a shared love for In-N-Out burgers. According to People, Katy, while recalling the moment during an episode of American Idol, said, 'I met my boyfriend over In-N-Out. We were at the Golden Globes, and we weren't together.' 'So I had my security guard grab 10 In-N-Outs, and all of a sudden I see my boyfriend's hand, he wasn't even sitting at our table. he just swoops in and grabs it. I was like, 'Hey, that's my burger!'.' Later that year, the couple went public with their romance after attending the Cannes Film Festival and sharing their first photo on Instagram. However, their relationship has had its ups and downs. In February 2017, the couple announced they had broken up but stayed on good terms during an appearance on Call Her Daddy. 'We're friends, it's good,' Bloom said of his split with Perry in April 2017. 'We're all grown up. She happens to be someone who is very visible, but I don't think anybody cares about what I'm up to. During an episode of American Idol in 2019, show judge Perry said her security guard had grabbed 10 burgers when Bloom swooped in to steal one of his own. 'He wasn't even sitting at our table — he just swoops in and he grabs it and I was like, 'Hey, that's my burger!'' Bloom and Perry officially become a couple later that year, but broke up in February 2017, remaining friends. However, a year later, the two started spending more time together. The singer told talk show host Jimmy Kimmel that Bloom got down on one knee and proposed on Valentine's Day 2019. The couple announced Perry's pregnancy in her music video for the song 'Never Worn White.' Their daughter, Daisy Dove, was born in August 2020. News of the couple's split was first reported by TMZ, noting that Bloom will be attending the wedding of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez as a solo act.
