BBAU is first choice for over 800 candidates
Lucknow: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) became the first preference of around 800 candidates from across the country who confirmed their admission against 2,000 seats in the first round of online counselling. According to university officials, this was the highest admission taken after fee submission in the first phase of counselling in the last three years. "We are extremely happy with the response from the candidates. On July 7, we declared the centralised score list for candidates who cracked the CUET with high scores. Our 40% seats got filled, which means that BBAU is among the first choice of candidates from across the country," said BBAU admission chairperson Prof Amit Kumar Singh. He said a candidate who appears for CUET fills multiple universities, be it Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University or others. Interestingly, if around 800 candidates locked seats who hold high CUET scores, it reflects that BBAU is their first choice. He said online counselling was held from July 8 to 10, during which candidates got their document verification done and submitted fees. Vice-chancellor Prof RK Mittal said: "BBAU's A++ NAAC grade and good rankings across four NIRF categories in the previous year is the reason for the good response from CUET high scorers."
