New substation to serve 12k consumers in Vasundhara

Ghaziabad: A new 33/11 kV substation, constructed at a cost of Rs 15 crore in Sector 7, is set to energise Vasundhara starting next week. In addition to Sector 7, the substation will also supply power to sectors 1, 2 and 3, as well as parts of sectors 5 and 9. Currently, the substation at Sector 16 supplies power to sectors 1, 2 and 3, and the upcoming substation is expected to alleviate the load on the existing substation. "We will make the new substation in Sector 7 operational by June 3 or 4. Its trials and synchronisation are complete. UP Awas Vikas constructed it and handed it over to usWe are now waiting for its feeder code from the grid, expected by next week, after which we will make the substation operational," said Amit Saxena, executive engineer of the Ghaziabad power department, PVVNL. According to Saxena, the new substation is set to benefit around 12,000 consumers across these sectors.
