Peddler held, drugs worth Rs 7.6 lakh seized
Hyderabad: The sleuths of Hyderabad Commissioner's Task Force, East Zone team along with the Chilkalguda Police apprehended a 21-year-old interstate drug supplier at Chilkalguda and seized 50 grams of Amphetamine drug worth Rs 7.60 lakh from his possession. The arrested man was Rajikul Hoque, a labourer from Maldah (D), West Bengal. According to police, Rajikul had earlier migrated to Hyderabad and worked as a mason. After a few days, he returned to his hometown and started working as a labourer to support his family. Facing financial difficulties and unable to manage his household expenses, he came into contact with one Mojibur Mistri, a resident of Mojampur, Maldah who is absconding, who is known to be involved in drug supply. Mojibur convinced him that drug dealing was highly profitable. 'In an attempt to overcome his financial problems, Rajikul Hoque purchased 50 grams of Amphetamine and travelled to Hyderabad with the intention of selling it to drug users,' said Ande Srinivasa Rao, Addl. DCP commissioner Task force. While he was waiting near Line Bazar Masjid, Chilkalguda, Hyderabad, to sell the drug, he was apprehended by the police and found in possession of the contraband.

Four detained over drugs in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: Four men were detained in several operations at Lahad Datu town for possessing and abusing drugs. District Acting Police Chief, Supt. Jimmy Panyau said those men aged between 32 and 45 were detained following the Op Tapis conducted by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division of Lahad Datu Police Headquarters. Jimmy said the first arrest involving a 45-year-old man was made at about 10.40am near Jalan Pantai. He said the result of inspection conducted on the man found a translucent packet containing 0.14 grams of substances believed to be Syabu. 'The suspect was also tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. The case would be investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act (DDA) 1952,' he said. According to Jimmy, about 3.45pm, two men aged 32 and 34 were detained while wandering in suspicious behaviors at Kampung Puyut. He said following inspection on both men found one of them possessing two translucent packets containing substances believed to be Syabu weighing 0.28 grams and two aluminium foils. Urine tests conducted on both of them found one of the suspects positive of taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. Investigation of this case was conducted under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of DDA 1952. 'About 4.30pm, the team arrested a 40-year-old man who was in suspicious behavior at the roadside of Jalan Kastam Baru. 'Result of inspection on the suspect found a cigarette box containing 27 translucent plastic packets filled with substances believed to be Syabu weighing 5.51 grams,' said Jimmy. He said urine tests conducted on the suspect found he was positive of taking Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. The suspect also had two previous records related to drug cases. Nigerian woman smuggling drugs from Delhi to Mumbai arrested with party drugs worth Rs 7 crore
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) Thursday arrested a Nigerian woman in Bandra for allegedly smuggling drugs like Amphetamine and Ecstasy worth around Rs 7 crore. She was travelling by bus from Delhi to Mumbai and had concealed the drugs in her bag. The arrested woman has been identified as Blessing Favor Oboh, 23. According to sources, DRI had received specific information about the attempted smuggling, and based on the tip-off, the woman was arrested at the Kalanagar bus stand in Bandra. When the trolley bag she was carrying was searched, 2.563kg of Amphetamine and 584 gram of Ecstasy tablets were found. Amphetamine and Ecstasy are prohibited drugs under the law. During interrogation, the Nigerian woman reportedly confessed to her crime. In her statement to DRI, she claimed that she was going to get a lucrative commission from her handler. But before that, she was arrested. She has been arrested under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Preliminary investigation has revealed that a large international gang is involved in this case, and DRI is looking to get more information on the woman's associates. The central agency is trying to nab the mastermind of the racket. Sources said that Amphetamine and Ecstasy are famous as party drugs. They are in high demand abroad. Currently, the demand for these drugs has increased in India as well.

Duo held for drugs in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: Two men, including a foreigner, were arrested for syabu. District Acting Police Chief Supt Jimmy Panyau said the duo were detained following the Op Tapis conducted by Narcotic Crime Investigation Division (BSJND). He said the operation is among efforts to combat drug activities in the district. Advertisement Jimmy said in the first operation about 1pm on Wednesday, a 42-year-old foreigner was detained behind the shop in Taman Aman 3, Jalan Silam. 'The man was found possessing 30 packets of translucent plastic containing substances believed to be syabu weighing 5.55 grammes. 'The suspect also tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. The seizures were estimated worth RM610.50,' he said. The second suspect, a 31-year-old local, was detained at the security post in Jalan Segama. He said the suspect was in possession of 0.78 grammes of syabu, and tested positive for Amphetamine and Methamphetamine. 'Both suspects are in our custody and investigations carried out under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952. Ahmedabad crime branch nabs female bouncer, auto driver with drugs
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 8 (ANI): Ahmedabad Crime Branch arrested a female bouncer and an auto-rickshaw driver with huge quantity of MD drugs near Vinayak Park under Ramol area in the city, said a police statement. Acting on a tip-off, officials seized a mixture of 34 grams and 180 milligrams of Amphetamine and Mephedrone, with an estimated market value of Rs 3.41 lakh. The arrests were made when a team from the Crime Branch intercepted an auto-rickshaw near Vinayak Park. The accused were in possession of the illicit drugs without any legal permit and police recovered 34.180 grams of a mixture of Amphetamine and Mephedrone worth Rs 3,41,800, two mobile phones and an auto-rickshaw, added the police statement. The arrested identified as Ramiz Mohammed (30), and the female bouncer Sirinbanu (28), both residents of Ahmedabad. Investigations reveal that Ramiz is a habitual MD drug consumer and sourced the substances from Tanvir. Meanwhile, Sirinbanu reportedly brought the drugs from Mumbai for retail sale to earn profit. A case has been registered under sections of the NDPS Act at DCB Police Station and further investigations are ongoing to trace the supply chain and apprehend the remaining two accused. Apart from this, on Sunday, Ahmedabad Crime Branch apprehended Abhishek alias Shooter Sanjaybhsinh Tomar, a notorious criminal with a history of violent offences, after a tense standoff at an apartment in Odhav. Tomar, wanted in multiple cases involving assault, rioting, and illegal arms possession, had been evading the law. Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Branch team arrived at Shivam Awas, Building X, Flat No. 505 in Bhavang Flats, where Tomar hid. Tomar refused to open the door and instead climbed onto the kitchen balcony ledge, threatening to jump. After the police broke in, Tomar began livestreaming the standoff on social media, continuing to threaten to jump, said the crime branch in a press note. Authorities quickly mobilised the fire brigade and control room while negotiating with Tomar. Eventually, the police used 'appropriate force' to detain him without any casualties. (ANI)
