Another journalist killed in Israeli air strike in Gaza

Aljazeera Arabic's Gaza correspondent Anas al-Sharif revealed on Thursday that another journalist has been killed in an Israeli air strike on his family's tent in Gaza City. Adam Abu Harbeid was a cameraman for the broadcaster al-Quds al-Youm. Several members of Abu Harbeid's family were critically injured, Sharif said. "He accompanied me on much news coverage and was an example of politeness, humility, and respect," Sharif wrote on X, sharing a photograph of the two of them at work. "May God have mercy on you, our beloved Adam, and grant you Paradise," he added. A photograph shared by Aljazeera correspondent Anas al-Sharif on X shows him at work alongside al-Quds al-Youm cameraman Adam Abu Harbeid, who was killed in an Israeli strike on 24 July 2025.

Israeli army targets Gaza journalists over hunger reports

The Israeli military's Arabic-language spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, has released a video threatening Gaza-based journalists covering the hunger crisis, including Al Jazeera correspondent Anas al-Sharif. Adraee dismissed the reports as 'a fabricated and deceitful Hamas theatrical performance'. In response, al-Sharif posted on X, calling the accusations part of Israel's ongoing effort to 'silence the truth' and 'cover up a genocide unfolding in real time'.

Gaza Genocide: Israel Bombs School Shelter, Kills 10 and Burns Child Alive

Rabat – The Palestinian Civil Defense recovered 10 bodies this morning, April 23, after Israel struck the Jaffa School in Gaza's Tuffah district, where many forcibly displaced Palestinians had sought refuge. A significant number of others were injured in the assault. Video footage shared by Palestinians documenting their own annihilation of their own communities showed flames engulfing tent structures, their fabric melting over the charred remnants of burning chairs. Among the victims was a child described as having been 'burned beyond recognition.' 'Our children are being burned while they sleep in the tents of the displaced,' reported Al Jazeera correspondent Anas al-Sharif, capturing the horrific reality that continues to unfold under Israel's genocide in Gaza. 'There are no safe areas, and no survivors of this genocide. Gaza City and its northern districts have endured relentless Israeli shelling and artillery fire for hours,' he added. In the same area, Israel also bombed two residential homes, trapping people beneath the rubble. 'Trapped people are calling for help from under the collapsed homes,' said the Civil Defense, noting that emergency workers were unable to reach the area, which has been declared off-limits by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF). Israel intensified its bombardment with heavy artillery and airstrikes throughout the early morning. These included the bombing of tent shelters in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, killing at least two people — one of them a child. In al-Mawasi, south of Khan Younis, an area that Israel has previously designated as a 'safe zone,' a drone strike killed at least one person and wounded several others. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) reported earlier this month that it has documented 224 Israeli airstrikes on residential buildings and rents for displaced people in Gaza between March 18 and April 19. The UN office states that 36 of these attacks only killed children and women. Tags: children of Gazadeath toll in GazaIsrael war crimes

Child among at least 10 killed in Israeli attack on school shelter in Gaza

At least 10 people have been killed in an Israeli attack that sparked a fire at a school sheltering displaced people in Gaza City, including one child who was burned to death in the blaze. The Palestinian Civil Defence said its emergency workers recovered 10 bodies early on Wednesday morning after the attack on the school, where forcibly displaced people had taken shelter. A large number of people were also injured, it said in a post on the Telegram messaging platform. 'Children are being burned while they sleep in the tents of the displaced,' Al Jazeera correspondent Anas al-Sharif wrote on social media after the attack. 'There are no safe areas, and no survivors of this genocide. Gaza City and its northern areas have been subjected to heavy Israeli shelling and artillery fire for hours,' he said. Video footage shared on social media after the attack on the school-turned-shelter showed flames engulfing tent structures and canvas covering melting onto the remains of burning chairs and what appeared to be a bed civil defence also issued an urgent appeal for assistance from the International Committee of the Red Cross to help rescue people trapped under the rubble following Israel's bombing of two homes in Gaza City's Tuffah neighbourhood. 'Trapped people are calling for help to rescue them from under the rubble of homes,' the civil defence said in a statement, adding that emergency workers were unable to reach the area because it was too dangerous, as the area is designated a 'no-go' zone by Israeli forces. Our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic and local Palestinian media also reported that a child was among two people killed on Wednesday morning in an Israeli attack on tent shelters in northern Gaza's Jabalia refugee camp. One person was also reported killed and several injured in an Israeli drone attack on tent shelters in the so-called al-Mawasi 'safe zone', south of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Intense Israeli artillery fire and air attacks were reported across the Strip in the early hours of the morning.
