Woman killed in Ukrainian drone raid on Russia (VIDEOS)

At least one civilian was killed and several others injured as Ukrainian drones targeted multiple regions of Russia overnight, damaging residential buildings and infrastructure, local authorities have said. A woman died in Rostov Region when a drone crashed into an apartment building in the village of Dolotinka, acting Governor Yury Slyusar confirmed early Friday morning. The two-story residential block partially collapsed after the impact, killing a retired woman who had worked as a teacher. Twenty residents were evacuated, and emergency teams were dispatched to the site. The drone raids also affected the Azov and Tarasovsky districts in Rostov Region. In Azov, a blast shattered windows in a residential building, and debris from another drone landed on a local stadium. No casualties were reported in those incidents. At least four drones were reported to have crashed in the Sergiyevo-Posadsky District of Moscow Region, according to Governor Andrey Vorobyov. Two civilians were injured, including a 60-year-old man who suffered a closed head injury and lost three teeth, and a 40-year-old man who sustained an open neck wound and a chest contusion. The drone strike also damaged a local substation, causing temporary power outages in several neighborhoods, according to the head of the Sergiyevo-Posadsky District, Oksana Yerokhanova. Emergency services and energy workers remain on-site to restore electricity and assess the damage. Officials said Russian air defenses successfully engaged most incoming targets but acknowledged that some drones penetrated the defenses, causing 'tragic consequences.' The Russian Defense Ministry said a total of 48 drones were intercepted over five regions overnight, including 26 in Rostov, 12 in Kursk, six in Belgorod, three in Oryol, and one in Lipetsk Region. Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials have claimed that the Russian military launched a wave of missile and drone strikes targeting Kiev. Multiple blurred-out videos shared on Ukrainian social media appeared to show the aftermath, with numerous fires lighting up the city skyline. The Russian Defense Ministry has yet to issue an official statement regarding the reported strike. However, it regularly conducts missile and drone operations against Ukrainian military infrastructure, maintaining that it does not target civilians and accusing Kiev of placing air defense systems in densely populated areas.

A Ukrainian kamikaze drone struck a residential tower outside the Russian capital on Tuesday, putting two people in the hospital and destroying their apartment, according to Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov. The strike occurred in the early morning in Krasnogorsk, a satellite city west of Moscow that falls under the administration of Moscow Region. Photos from the scene show damage at the top 17th floor of the high-rise. Vorobyov said a 34-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital. A pregnant woman who suffered from intense stress remains under observation in a prenatal unit. Neither her life nor the baby's is in danger, the official said. According to Vorobyov and the Russian Defense Ministry, three long-range Ukrainian drones were engaged by air defenses over Moscow Region overnight. Kiev regularly launches such waves at night – ranging from over 100 to as few as 20 in the latest wave. Krasnogorsk, home to more than 190,000 people, houses key regional government bodies, including the legislature, high court, and administration buildings, all clustered within five kilometers of the damaged residential complex. Ukrainian officials maintain that their drone strikes are aimed at military targets. On Sunday, Gen. Aleksandr Syrsky, the country's top military officer, vowed to expand the scope and reach of such operations. Russian authorities are investigating multiple cases in which Ukrainian forces are alleged to have deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure and non-combatants. Officials accuse Kiev of using terrorist tactics as a response to an inability to halt Russian advances on the battlefield.

Elderly woman injured in Ukrainian drone attack

An elderly woman has been hospitalized following a drone attack on Moscow Region on Sunday, according to Governor Andrey Vorobyov. The woman was injured after debris from a downed drone fell onto a summer cottage community in Ramensky Urban District. 'Unfortunately, a 75-year-old woman was injured – she has been hospitalized with a wound and is receiving all necessary medical care,' Vorobyov wrote on his Telegram channel. Air defense systems intercepted ten drones across various districts in the region. The most significant damage occurred in Istra, where a residential building's facade and windows were impacted by falling debris. No additional civilian injuries and no damage to critical infrastructure was reported. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin also confirmed the interception of drones. The mayor's Telegram channel reported incursions by one or several UAVs almost every hour early on Sunday. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense units shot down 61 drones overnight on Sunday. UAVs were intercepted over multiple regions of the country, including Bryansk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Tula, Oryol, Kursk, and Crimea. Ukraine has significantly intensified its drone raids on civilian infrastructure in Moscow and other Russian regions since mid-May, when a meeting of negotiators from the two countries took place in Istanbul, marking the first direct talks between Kiev and Moscow since 2022. The attacks peaked during the final week of May, when 2,300 UAVs were shot down, according to the Russian MOD.

Ukraine has launched another major drone raid on Moscow and suburban areas, with a total of 42 UAVs being shot down overnight across the entire region, local officials have said. The attack damaged buildings and prompted temporary flight suspensions, but no casualties have been reported. Air defenses intercepted drones across 12 municipalities in the early hours of Wednesday, according to Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov. Three residential houses were damaged in Troitskoye, a village in the Chekhov district south of Moscow, Vorobyov said. Emergency services were working at the scene and residents affected by the attack would receive assistance, he added. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed the drone raid on the Russian capital, which came in several waves starting at around 12:30am. The Russian Defense Ministry said air defense systems had shot down or intercepted a total of 296 fixed-wing drones across Russia between 9pm on Tuesday and 7am on Wednesday. Russia's aviation regulator said flight operations were temporarily restricted at Moscow's Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Zhukovsky and Sheremetyevo airports, as well as at regional airports in Vladimir, Ivanovo, Kostroma, and Yaroslavl, to ensure safety. Restrictions were lifted later in the morning. In Zelenograd, a district on the northwestern outskirts of Moscow, an explosion shattered the windows at Elma Technopark while a nearby car caught fire, according to pictures shared by the Shot Telegram channel. The outlet also posted a video appearing to show the midair destruction of a UAV. The drone raid was caught on camera in multiple locations, with clips often featuring drones flying at a low altitude and explosions. A video shared by Baza showed residents in Ramenskoye, outside Moscow, taking cover under trees during the attack. Ukraine has recently significantly intensified its drone raids on civilian infrastructure deep into Russia. The Russian Defense Ministry has said that the attacks are being supported by Kiev's sponsors in Europe and are aimed at disrupting the ongoing conflict settlement process. According to the ministry, more than 2,300 drones have been intercepted over the past week, mostly outside the frontline. Subsequently, Russia has responded with precision strikes targeting exclusively Ukrainian military facilities, including drone production sites, warehouses, airfields, radar stations, and ammunition depots.
