RailOne app to offer unified passenger and freight services

Prayagraj: The Railways Ministry on Tuesday launched a new app named RailOne that can help passengers get easy access to multiple services such as ticket booking, train and PNR enquiry, journey planning, rail help services and meal booking. It also has features for freight services-related enquiries. The app launched on its 40th foundation day event of CRIS can be downloaded from both the Android PlayStore and iOS App Store. "RailOne App is a one-stop solution for all passenger needs. Through this app, passengers get easy access to the following services: Ticketing -- reserved, unreserved, platform tickets; train and PNR enquiry; journey planning; rail help services; meal booking in train," a press note from the Railway Ministry said. The core emphasis is to enhance user experience through a seamless and clean UI. It not only combines all services in one place but also has several integrations between services to provide users with a complete package of Indian Railway services. The single-sign-on facility is one of the unique features of this app, which reduces the burden on users to remember several passwords. Once downloaded, users can use their existing user credentials from the RailConnect or UTSonMobile app to register. Furthermore, users do not need to carry several applications for different services of IR, reducing space consumption on users' devices as well. The facility of R-Wallet (Railway e-wallet) has also been incorporated. A simple login option through numeric mPIN and biometric has also been provided. For new user registration, minimal user data is required, making it easy and fast. For enquiry purposes, users can log in as guests through a mobile number/OTP. MULTIPLE APP SYSTEM So far, 'IRCTC Rail Connect' was used for reserved class ticket booking online. For registering complaints or seeking help, it was 'RailMadad' and for unreserved services, the users needed to have the 'UTS" app. There was another app called National Train Enquiry System for train enquiry. RailOne was officially launched on Tuesday during the 40th foundation day event of Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS). The app can be downloaded from both Android Play Store and iOS App Store. The app supports two languages — Hindi and English. 'RailOne is a one-stop solution for all passenger services. The App offers ease of access for services like: Ticketing: Reserved, Unreserved, Platform tickets; Enquiries of Trains, PNR; Journey Planning; Rail Madad Services; Food on Train. It also has features for freight services related enquiries," the Ministry said. The app focuses on delivering a seamless, user-friendly experience. It unifies all services under one platform and integrates them to offer a complete, hassle-free experience to users of Indian Railways services. The facility of R-Wallet (Railway e-wallet) has also been incorporated in the app, the Ministry said. HOW TO GET STARTED WITH RAILONE? Existing users of IRCTC Rail Connect or UTS can log in using their current credentials in the RailOne app. For new user registration, minimum user data is required, making it easy and fast. For enquiry purposes, users can log in as Guest through mobile number/OTP, the Ministry said. The app supports simple login options such as numeric mPIN and biometric authentication. By integrating all major railway services into one platform, RailOne marks a major step forward in simplifying how millions of passengers interact with Indian Railways.

Kong shows the newly-launched 'Kuching Journey Planner' mobile app. KUCHING (June 5): The Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (LPKP) Sarawak has launched the 'Kuching Journey Planner' mobile application for commuters using the Kuching service. According to its chairman Michael Kong, the app, which allows users to track the live location of buses, is now available in beta mode on the Android Play Store. 'This app is designed to enhance the commuting experience by allowing users to track real-time locations of buses under the Kuching service, plan their journeys more effectively and access updated route and schedule information at their fingertips,' he said in a statement today. Kong emphasised that this is just the beginning, as the app is still in beta mode. 'We understand that there may still be bugs or areas for improvement, and we welcome and value all feedback from users. Your input will help us fine-tune the application and ensure it meets the needs of our community.' At present, he said the app is available exclusively on Android devices. However, he noted that they are actively working to improve it and will roll out a version on the Apple App Store once they are confident it is ready for full release. Kong encouraged all Kuching commuters to try out the 'Kuching Journey Planner' app and provide suggestions and feedback. 'The setting up of our mobile app within three months from the launch of our first route shows our commitment to make public transportation more convenient, reliable and accessible for everyone. 'This is another step forward in the modernisation of the public transport in Sarawak and we will continue in our efforts to uplift the public transportation industry,' added Kong.
