Kevin McStay relieved of role as Mayo manager alongside his management team
Kevin McStay was relieved of his role as the manager of Mayo's senior football team on Wednesday night. The decision came following a management committee meeting of Mayo GAA at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park. Advertisement McStay's management team were also relieved from their roles with the team with immediate effect. Mayo GAA stated, "We would like to sincerely thank Kevin and his management team for their time, effort, and commitment to the Mayo Senior Football Team during their tenure. Their dedication to the players and the jersey has been greatly appreciated by all involved with Mayo GAA. "We wish Kevin and his management team every success in the future, both on and off the field." Mayo GAA added that an update regarding the future management of the Senior Football Team will be provided in due course. Advertisement McStay stepped back from the managerial position after Mayo's defeat to Cavan for health reasons, with selector Stephen Rochford taking charge for the latter stages of their campaign. He was handed a four-year reign when appointed in August of 2022, but Mayo will now have a new boss at the helm in 2026. His time with Mayo GAA included a Division One win in 2023, followed by consecutive losses in the Connacht Football Final in 2024 and 2025. ANTRIM GAA HAVE confirmed that Andy McEntee's time as senior football manager is over. His three-year term will not be extended after reaching successive Tailteann Cup semi-finals in 2023 and 2024 while integrating numerous U20 prospects into the senior panel. He also paid tribute to the players and those he worked closely with since his appointment. 'I have been very fortunate to work with a backroom team who have such love for Antrim football. I would like to pay tribute to the medical and performance team who have worked tirelessly to ensure players received the best treatment and are in the best possible condition at all times to represent their county. 'To the management team of Tom, Terry, Justin, Brendan, John and Darren, I would like to thank you for your massive contribution. To the players, I would like you to know that it has been an honour to get to know and work with such a great bunch of young men. I wish you nothing but the best going forward. I will be watching. Andy McEntee steps down as Antrim manager at end of three-year tenure
The Antrim senior footballers are on the search for a new manager after Andy McEntee stepped down from the role. The Meath native had spent three years at Antrim after was appointed to the role in 2022 following his spell as Meath manager. The former Royal County boss enjoyed successive Tailteann Cup semi-final appearances in 2023 and 2024 with The Saffrons. "We would sincerely like to thank Andy and his entire backroom team for their service and commitment to our senior footballers during their term," a short county board statement said. McEntee also helped develop a raft of U20 talent and successfully integrated them into the senior panel. He said: "Having finished our Tailteann Cup campaign, my three-year tenure as Antrim manager has come to an end. "There are a lot of people that I would like to thank for the past three years. Firstly, I would like to thank Donal Murphy for making that first call and persevering to convince me to make the trip up the M1. "I would also like to thank the County Board Chairman at the time, Ciarán McCavana and the current Chairman, Seámus McMullan who ensured that we had the continuous support of the county board over the last three years." Mayo county board relieve manager Kevin McStay of his duties
Kevin McStay has been relieved of his role as Mayo senior football manager.
