Onew explores diverse emotions with wide music spectrum

Onew returns with second LP, containing 11 tracks for 11 emotions SHINee leader Onew has returned with his second solo studio album, exploring diverse emotions through a wide musical spectrum. 'Percent' is Onew's first new album since his fourth mini album, 'Connection,' dropped in January. 'I tried expressing in numbers the various emotions one feels, using the theme of 'percent.' Even when you're happy, a bit of anxiety might be there, and even in difficult times, there can be a little hope. I wanted to interpret those complex emotions in my own way,' Onew said at a press conference in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, Tuesday. Regarding the main track 'Animals,' a song built on a bassline and acoustic guitar layered with sounds reminiscent of animal cries to capture the moment instinct is unleashed, he said, 'These days I feel like we often wear masks. I think all should feel free enough to be oneself, and that's how this song came about. When you listen to this song, I hope it awakens your instincts and lets you enjoy it.' The album includes 11 tracks capturing 11 different emotions. 'Silky' is themed around laziness and rest. 'Caffeine' expresses the feeling of addiction through unique harmonies. 'Marshmallow' is a sensory depiction of the moment of falling in love. Meanwhile, 'Mad' revisits the emotions of parting. Onew took part in writing the lyrics for seven tracks, including the main song, infusing the album with his own sensibilities while exploring a broad musical palette. He also explored diverse musical styles and genres. The main track features a rap section, while tracks like the titular 'Percent,' with its powerful drums, snares and experimental vocal samples that evoke extraterrestrial sounds, and 'Epilogue,' a restrained track made up solely of piano and voice, bring together completely different textures in one album. Onew added that he plans to continue trying new things in the future. 'When you listen to classical music, you can feel emotions even without lyrics. I've been wanting to try something like that. I will keep experimenting in various ways.' Onew next plans to embark on his first solo world tour, 'Onew the Live: Percent,' across 16 cities. 'It's my first time going alone to Europe or South America. But during my recent US tour, I gained confidence that I could do it as I met fans and immersed myself in those moments,' said Onew. 'I believe that when I'm happy, that happiness overflows and becomes contagious. That's why I always work with the mindset that I need to be happy first in order to share that feeling with others," Onew concluded. "Moving forward, I want to meet more audiences by performing more often in new venues.'

Natural remedy for dog itching: New study shows postbiotic works in 14 days

If your dog constantly scratches or suffers from itchy skin, a new study offers hope. Researchers have found that a special postbiotic supplement made by Kingdom Supercultures called Pet Immune, may significantly reduce itching and improve overall skin and coat health in dogs. The peer-reviewed clinical study , published in the journal Animals, showed that dogs taking this indole-rich supplement had a 20% reduction in scratching and a 27% improvement in owner-reported itchiness—all within just 14 days. Causes of dog itching and how to treat it naturally Itching, especially caused by atopic dermatitis, is one of the most common health issues in dogs worldwide. Itching in dogs, particularly due to atopic dermatitis, is a widespread and frustrating issue for both pets and their owners. Atopic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition triggered by allergens such as pollen, dust mites, mould, or certain foods. It causes intense itching, redness, skin inflammation, and in many cases, secondary infections due to constant scratching, biting, or licking. Left untreated, it can lead to skin thickening, hair loss, and open sores. Besides environmental and food allergens, other common causes of dog itching include: Flea allergy dermatitis (reaction to flea bites) Dry skin, especially in colder months Yeast or bacterial infections Poor diet or nutritional deficiencies Contact irritants, like certain shampoos, cleaning products, or grasses It leads to discomfort, skin damage, and even hair loss. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: One simple trick to get internet without a subscription Techno Mag Learn More Undo Unfortunately, treatment often requires long-term medication like steroids or immune-modulating drugs, which can be costly and carry side effects. That's why many pet parents are now turning to natural, nutrition-based solutions to manage chronic itching and support their dog's immune system. Gut health and dog skin problems: How the gut-skin axis affects itching The new research focused on a growing area of interest in veterinary science: the gut–skin axis. This concept explores how a dog's gut health affects its immune system and skin condition. Dogs with itchy skin often have a weaker gut microbiome and more 'leaky gut' symptoms, which can trigger inflammation that shows up on the skin. By improving gut health, researchers believe you can help manage skin issues from the inside out. What is an indole-rich postbiotic and how does it help itchy dogs? This particular postbiotic supplement is rich in compounds called indoles—natural byproducts created by healthy gut bacteria when they digest tryptophan (an amino acid). Indoles play a key role in regulating inflammation and immune responses. The indoles in this supplement work by activating a special immune sensor in the body called the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR). This receptor has been shown in both animal and human studies to help calm inflammation and reduce itch. In fact, AhR-targeting medications are already used in human dermatology, which strengthens the science behind this approach for pets. Best supplement for itchy dogs? New postbiotic outperforms probiotics Compared to other natural supplements, this postbiotic showed impressive results. Previous studies on probiotics and postbiotics for dog itching have shown little to no improvement—with most offering only about a 10% reduction in symptoms after two to four weeks. In contrast, the dogs in this trial saw over double that relief in just 14 days. That makes this one of the most effective biotic-based solutions for itchy skin documented so far. Postbiotic for dogs improves gut health and coat shine Along with reduced itching, dogs given the indole-rich postbiotic also had better-looking coats and skin after two weeks. And there were improvements in their gut health too. By day 28, these dogs showed a 4.6% increase in microbiome diversity—a key marker of gut health. They also had more beneficial bacteria like Clostridium and Romboutsia, which are known to help fight inflammation and support digestion. The results suggest this indole-rich postbiotic could be a safe, natural way to relieve itching in dogs while also supporting their gut and immune health. Although the study focused on dogs with moderate itching, the researchers believe it could also help dogs with more serious skin issues like atopic dermatitis. Male K-pop solo returns to thrill music fans this summer

Onew, Yoon San-ha, Lee Min-hyuk and Nam Woo-hyun unveil new albums, tours and identities beyond their groups The summer of 2025 is shaping up to be a season of solo comebacks in the K-pop scene, as several male idols step away from their group activities to showcase themselves as individual artists. From emotionally rich ballads to genre-defying hybrid tracks, each release offers a distinct musical color, giving fans fresh reasons to celebrate their favorite artists' evolution on stage. Onew, the leader of SHINee, will return Tuesday with his second LP. Titled "Percent," the album comes just five months after his fourth mini album "Connection." Featuring 11 tracks, including the main single 'Animals,' the album chronicles a journey of self-completion through emptiness and fulfillment. Onew participated extensively in the production process as both an artist and a producer, solidifying his unique musical identity. He contributed to the lyrics and arrangement of the main track and is credited as a lyricist on six of the album's B-side tracks. Following the release, Onew will launch his first solo world tour 'Onew The Live: Percent,' beginning in Seoul on Aug. 2 and traveling to 16 cities worldwide. Astro's Yoon San-ha is also set to make his genre-bending return on the same day. He will drop his second solo mini-album "Chameleon," marking his return after 11 months. The main track 'Extra Virgin' is a hybrid pop song that fuses country-style chord progressions with a heavy hip-hop rhythm. Yoon will kick off his 2025 fan concert tour 'Prism: from Y to A' in Seoul this August, with additional stops in Asia and Latin America through September. He is also to star in the upcoming KBS2 series "My Girlfriend Is the Man," which premieres July 23. Lee Minhyuk of BTOB will also return with new music this month. The singer will release a new EP, "Hook," on July 21, which marks his first solo project in three years since his second studio album, "Boom." While he performs under his real name in group promotions, his solo stage name Huta reflects a different charisma and artistic persona. In a teaser trailer, he appears in front of a dimly lit boxing ring, donning a hooded robe and exuding intense energy, heightening anticipation among fans. Nam Woohyun, the main vocalist of Infinite, is scheduled to drop his fifth mini album "Tree Ring" on July 30. It will be his first album since the release of his digital single "Boyfriend" in September 2024 and marks his first official album release since his first solo LP "Whitree" in November 2023. A coming-soon poster featuring the cross-section of a tree — marked like a fingerprint — teased the new concept. Known for his active involvement in songwriting and composition, Nam's return is highly anticipated by fans. Following the new music release, Nam will also hold his fifth solo concert 'Tree High School' at Seoul's Olympic Hall on Aug.16–17.

Meanwhile, Jennifer cut a stylish figure in a pink floral summer dress and chunky black sliders as she strolled down the street 'She mentioned how last year was a very difficult time for her both personally and professionally. She had to cancel her tour and really focus on herself. 'Fast-forward to one year later, and she feels better and stronger than ever, so she wanted to write a song about coming out of a bad situation much stronger.' He said that she, 'kept thinking of the word "wreck" because it means destruction, but she wasn't destroyed,' adding one of the songs lyrics are, 'I'm stronger after the wreckage of you.' Another unnamed fan also at the exclusive event added that Wreckage Of You was a, 'very emotional, empowering song about walking away from a relationship and coming out a stronger person.'
