It is the highest-grossing Japanese movie ever, making over 40 billion yen in Japan alone. It also earned more than $500 million worldwide, making it the top anime film at the global box office. The movie focuses mainly on 2 characters – Tanjiro and Rengoku as they fight a powerful demon on board a mysterious train. The movie is famous for its emotional story, beautiful animation, and intense battles. This re-release is not just a fun throwback. It's also part of the build-up to something bigger. It will release in Japan on July 18, 2025, and will come to international theatres between August 14 and September 25. Mugen Train changed how anime movies are seen. Before its release, most anime films were not connected to the main story. But Mugen Train was different—it was canon, meaning it was a direct part of the main plot.
