India to see rollout of AI-powered drone infrastructure in Skye Air, Arrive AI Pact

Arrive AI , a leader in autonomous delivery networks , has announced a major international partnership with Skye Air Mobility , India's top hyperlocal drone delivery platform. This collaboration aims to scale secure, automated delivery solutions across India, one of the fastest-growing markets for drone technology. Skye Air currently offers 7-minute drone delivery to customers in Gurugram, part of NCR (National Capital Region) of Delhi and Bengaluru (Karnataka), making about 6,000 deliveries per day. The partnership entails co-developing mailboxes and installing across the country. Arrive AI shall begin from the initial 60 units being placed in Gurugram followed by other cities as per Skye Air's expansion plan. Both companies expect to have 500 Arrive Points across Skye Air's service areas in the future, serving a New Delhi population exceeding 33 million. 'The population density and scalability opportunity – along with huge demand for drone delivery from Indian consumers and governmental policies that encourage drone delivery – creates an unparalleled chance for us to showcase the transformative power of Arrive AI,' said Arrive AI Founder and CEO, Dan O'Toole. "This isn't just about delivery; it's about establishing a universally trusted custody layer for autonomous logistics and allows us to grow rapidly in a one-billion-plus population country that is already moving fast on autonomy." Arrive AI's industry-first patents underscore its evolution from a "smart mailbox" to a comprehensive autonomous delivery network and platform company. Arrive Points are secure, app-accessible mini cross docks, and offer a significantly elevated level of securitycompared to current delivery points, establishing a crucial trusted custody layer for real-world networks and asynchronous access. Ankit Kumar, Skye Air, Founder & CEO, highlighted the synergy by saying, 'Skye Air is on the forefront of drone delivery technology having built to deliver at scale. The company is already delivering about 200,000 packages on a monthly basis, just in one city. We believe Infrastructure is the most critical piece to scale drone delivery across the country, this is the reason we keep on investing in developing infrastructure. With access of 60-plus residential and commercial complexes in Gurugram, we are poised to shape the future of autonomous deliveries in India.' 'Our partnership with Arrive AI couldn't have come at a time better than this, when we are scaling up operations and expanding to newer cities such as Bengaluru,' he continued. 'Together with Arrive AI's state-of-the-art product, we are certain to dominate the infrastructure access points. It will make the entire process so much better. We can't wait to get these units in the field.' Kiran Paul, who focuses on international business development for Arrive AI, was instrumental in setting up the strategic partnership. "We anticipate that once we are operating in India and demonstrating the advantages Arrive Points offer, other countries looking to a future of increasing demand for quick, secure, drone-based ecommerce solutions will see the advantage of building Arrive Points into their smart city infrastructure plans, " Paul said. Arrive AI expects Arrive Points to be delivered to Skye Air within calendar year 2025. Beyond technological alignment, both companies share a profound commitment to sustainable delivery. Each drone delivery via Skye Air reduces carbon emissions by 520 grams compared to traditional methods, translating to over 2.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide saved monthly. This partnership not only enhances drone capabilities for Skye Air's current fleet of more than 30 drones but also lays crucial groundwork for seamless future integration with ground robotic deliveries.

Woman loses Rs 14L in ‘digital arrest' scam in Noida

Noida: A woman allegedly lost over Rs 14 lakh to cybercriminals who placed her under "digital arrest". Nidhi from Sector 50 filed a complaint with Cyber Crime police on Monday, detailing a harrowing experience that began with a phone call from an international number in Jan. In the complaint, she claimed to have received a call from someone claiming to be Ankit Kumar from the telecom department. The scammer threatened her with disconnection, claiming her phone number was linked to 17 FIRs. "Initially, I was confused because the number they mentioned wasn't mine," Nidhi said. "But they insisted it was registered in my name and offered to help me file a complaint." The caller then pretended to transfer her call to a police constable at Mumbai's Andheri police station, who confirmed the bogus claims. The fake constable assured Nidhi that he would connect her to the appropriate department. Nidhi was then contacted via video call by a man identifying himself as Pradip Sawant. He showed his face briefly before turning the camera off, claiming he was "recording her statement." During the call, she heard sirens in the background, and another voice announced that she was now "under digital arrest". According to Nidhi, the scammers began interrogating her, asking personal questions and accusing her of drug use and links to money laundering. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Vuela a Madrid y Tenerife. The scammers falsely claimed her name was involved in a money laundering case connected to Naresh Goyal, the founder of Jet Airways. Under pressure and still on a live video call with the scammers, Nidhi was coerced into transferring more than Rs 14 lakh from her bank account. "They told me I was doing something good for the country," she said, recounting how they shifted tone after receiving the money. Still under the scammers' control, Nidhi remained on video call until her mother noticed her distressed behaviour and intervened. It was only then that she realised she had been cheated. A complaint was initially filed on the national cyber crime reporting portal, but the family alleged no action was taken until now. Following a review of the complaint, an FIR was registered under sections 308(2) (extortion), 319(2) (cheating by personation), 318(4) (cheating), 336(4), 338, and 340 (all related to forgery) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections 66 and 66D of the Information Technology Act.

CBI names nine SIM card dealers from UP in cyber fraud case

1 2 Lucknow: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) named nine SIM card dealers from UP in a case involving fraudulent activation of over 1,100 ghost SIM cards . Many of these cards were later used in cyber frauds across India and abroad. The accused dealers hail from six UP districts are among 39 point-of-sale (PoS) operators under investigation. The nine named in the FIR are: Deepak Mahaur from Agra, Ankit Kumar and Banshi Dhar of Hardoi, Rajeev Sagar, Mukesh Kumar and Dhara Singh Hathras, Satyam Tiwari of Kannauj, Manoj Kumar Verma of Lucknow and Ashish from Unnao. The CBI said that the accused allegedly manipulated the e-KYC process by falsely claiming failed authentication during activation and then using the customer's documents to issue a second — unrequested — SIM card without their knowledge. These "ghost SIMs" were sold to cybercriminals, who used them for illicit activities, including UPI frauds, digital arrest scams, fake advertisements and even espionage. Many of the SIMs were later traced to users in South East Asian countries. The CBI initiated its investigation following a special report dated Apr 11, which was based on findings by the ministry of home affairs and the department of telecommunications. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like When Knee Pain Hits, Start Eating These Foods, and Feel Your Pain Go Away (It's Genius) Read More Undo Over 2,200 complaints were filed on the national cybercrime reporting portal in connection with these ghost SIMs. Analysis revealed 64,223 mobile numbers under suspicion, with many in roaming status outside India. Data analysis identified 1,930 PoS agents across the country potentially involved in selling over 64,000 fake SIM cards. Among them, 84 PoS outlets had more than 10 complaints each. Of these, only 39 were still operational at the time of verification. The CBI found that in some cases, SIM card agents even went door-to-door to issue fraudulent SIMs. At least 1,100 SIMs issued by these 39 outlets were directly linked to ongoing cybercrimes, resulting in over 2,200 verified complaints. The investigation also hinted at possible collusion from unidentified telecom service provider executives, raising concerns about systemic lapses in SIM issuance procedures. Based on the evidence, the CBI registered an FIR against the nine UP-based dealers along with 30 others from other states, unknown telecom executives and other unidentified individuals. Dealers from West Bengal, Maharashtra, Bihar, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are also under scrutiny. The case is part of a larger nationwide probe launched by the ministry of home affairs in 2024 to combat the growing threat of SIM-enabled cybercrime.
