The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board, which met on Tuesday, took several significant decisions aimed at improving facilities for pilgrims and streamlining its operations. Addressing the media on the deliberations of the meeting, TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and Executive Officer J. Shyamala Rao said that the Trust Board decided to constitute a sub-committee with experts to explore the feasibility of constructing the Vaikuntam Queue Complex-III to cater to the increasing pilgrim rush. Cybersecurity lab The Trust Board gave its nod for setting up a cybersecurity laboratory to protect pilgrims from fraud. Additionally, the TTD is planning to construct lounges with all facilities at pivotal centres, enhance lighting and security along the trekking routes, and build an administrative building at Tirumala to bring various departments under one roof, The TTD has decided to demolish several structures, including Balaji and Ampro guest houses, Kalyanai Choultry and six blocks in the HVDC area, as per the recommendations of IIT experts. In a major decision, it has recommended the regularisation of the services of 142 contract drivers in the TTD to the government, as per the directions of the High Court. The Trust Board decided to organise daily 'Annadanam' at the temple of Lord Kodandaswamy at Vontimitta in Kadapa district and sanctioned ₹4.35 crore for the purpose. Furthermore, it decided to constitute a sub-committee to oversee the construction of Lord Venkateswara temples in various countries and chalk out a master plan for the development of Silathoranam and Chakra Theertham. Other key decisions include creating four coordinator posts on a contract basis to strengthen the Srivari Seva wing, improving facilities at the Kalyanakatta, and releasing funds for the construction of temples in SC, ST, and backwards colonies under the SRIVANI Trust. The trust will provide funds in three categories—₹10 lakh, ₹15 lakh, and ₹20 lakh, as per the directions of the Endowments Department. Additionally, ₹2.16 crore will be distributed among unemployed Veda Parayanamdars to preserve the Vedas.

In a significant step towards strengthening infrastructure to meet the long-term energy needs of the hill temple, Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Trust Board B.R. Naidu on Thursday performed 'Bhoomi Puja' for setting up a state-of-the-art 45 metric tonne LPG storage facility at Tirumala. The facility being developed on the outer ring road, in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹8.13 crore in over 1.86 acres of land and completed in six months. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Naidu said that the IOCL has been a consistent supplier of LPG to the TTD since the past two decades and has now entered into a 30-year fresh agreement to ensure uninterrupted supply of LPG which he said will be primarily used in the preparation of the famed Tirumala laddu prasadam and at its daily Annadanam (community meals) complex and added that the initiative is expected to save a projected ₹1.5 crore annually in operational costs. IOCL Marketing Director V. Satish Kumar highlighted the corporation's ongoing commitment to sustainable practices. 'IOCL is already constructing a ₹12.05 crore bio-gas plant near the Tirumala dumping yard. Of the 55 tonnes of wet waste generated daily, 40 tonnes will be diverted to this new facility, which shall generate around 1,000 kilograms of bio-gas every day,' he explained. Several advanced safety and operational features will be incorporated at the LPG storage plant like — a 45 MT mounted storage vessels, 1,500 kg vaporizer, firefighting systems with sprinklers, dual water tanks, diesel generator, remote operating valves, gas leakage detection alarms, tanker decantation systems, CCTV surveillance, Gas Management System (GMS), Terminal Facility Monitoring System (TFMS) and Integrated Level Safety Device (ILSD). Also present at the event were TTD Chief Engineer TVV Satyanarayana and officials from both TTD and IOCL.

: The port city is gearing up for the highly anticipated Simhachalam Giri Pradakshina, a spiritual walk of devotion that attracts lakhs of devotees every year. The event, which will take place on Wednesday, involves a 32 km walk around the Simhachalam hill, starting and ending at Tholipavancha, the foothill of Simhachalam. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The route passes through various locations, including Adavivaram, Central Prison, Mudasarlova, Health City, Hanumanthawaka, Venkojipalem, HB Colony, Muralinagara, Madhavadhara, NSTL, Gopalapatnam, Prahladapuram, and Gosala. The district administration and temple management are expecting around five to six lakh devotees to participate in the event, and extensive arrangements have been made to ensure their safety and convenience. Around 3,000 police personnel from various districts, including the city police commissionerate, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitarama Raju district, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam, have been deployed for security and traffic management duties. The spiritual walk is an act of pure devotion, with devotees mostly walking barefoot and chanting Lord Vishnu's name throughout the night. The district collector, Harendira Prasad, has stated that arrangements have been made for around six lakh people, including 35 medical camps and 10 ambulances. The devotees will be allowed to have a holy bath at the Appughar area, with 50 expert swimmers and a few boats stationed in the waters for safety. Following a tragic wall collapse incident during the Chandanotsavam in April this year, which resulted in the deaths of seven devotees, and a shed collapse a couple of days ago, the district administration and temple management have taken extra precautions to ensure the safety of the devotees. The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is focused on street lighting and sanitation to ensure the safety and hygiene of the devotees. Various voluntary organizations are involved in community service by setting up Prasadam, Annadanam stalls, water, buttermilk, and refreshments. The city police commissioner, Sankabrata Bagchi, has stated that the entire route will be under CCTV surveillance, linked to the command control centre. Devotees can rest at the holding points, and if they need any help, they can contact the police or use the Astram App. With these arrangements in place, the Simhachalam Giri Pradakshina is expected to be a successful and memorable event for the devotees.

K. Laxman, national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) OBC Morcha and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) called for a thorough investigation into alleged irregularities and corruption in Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) that took place during the previous government's rule in Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to the media, after the darshan of Lord Venkateswara on Thursday (July 3, 2025), he expressed his concerns against the alleged irregularities which he said had shattered the faith of devotees who generously contribute to the temple's hundi. Pointing out various areas of concern, including the preparation of prasadams, purchase of machinery for the Ayurveda pharmacy, laddu quality and Annadanam, he categorically announced that he would be soon addressing a letter to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, urging him to conduct a detailed inquiry and severely punish the guilty.

Nellore: Endowment Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has said that government has allocated Rs 500 crores for reconstruction of temple entire state. The Endowment Minister Inturu Nageswara Rao laid foundation stone for construction of Dormitory and Shopping complex at Valetivaripalem village on Saturday. Speaking the occasion, he said that the government has already listed the temples in dilapidated condition and taken up their reconstruction in a phased manner. While asserting that the percentage of devotees has been increased to 30 per cent comparatively with previous government, he said that several initiatives like the amount related to 'Dhupa Deepa Naivaidyams' was hiked to Rs 10,000 'Sambhavana' of Archakas Rs 15,000, appointing Brahmins and Nayebrahmins in the trust boards, implementing Annadanam in 70 6-A categories, 70 temples against 148 entire the State. He inspected Annadanam scheme and interacted with the devotees and had lunch with them in the temple. Earlier, he laid foundation for construction shopping complex in Kandukuru town.
