Adivi Sesh Breaks Silence On Shruti Haasan Exit From Dacoit: ‘Just Didn't Work Out'
Last Updated: The Goodachari actor made it clear that there was no fallout or controversy between the two. Instead, he explained that the decision was amicable. Adivi Sesh has finally put an end to rumours surrounding Shruti Haasan's unexpected exit from his upcoming film Daciot. During a recent podcast appearance, the Goodachari actor addressed it, making it clear that there was no fallout or controversy between the two. Instead, he explained that the decision was amicable. Talking at Rajesh Manne's podcast, Adivi Sesh spoke about Shruti Haasan walking out of the film. He revealed there was no controversy and it was done amicably. The actor said, 'It just didn't work out. Also too many things like working styles. And also, she's very busy with Coolie. So it was very amicable and friendly. It takes me a lot of time to make a film. So, not everyone will sync with that process. Really, that's the reason why. There's no big controversy behind it." He also praised Mrunal Thakur who replaced Shruti as lead actress in the film. Set to release in December 2025, Dacoit features Mrunal Thakur opposite Sesh and is being shot in both Hindi and Telugu, marking yet another stride in pan-Indian storytelling. The film explores the relationship between love and rebellion, vulnerability and rage, all set against a dynamic action-driven backdrop. Speaking about the genre shift, Sesh shared, 'This is the first time I'm truly diving into a love story as a genre — and that in itself makes Dacoit very special to me. Even though my character is raw and filled with rage, the story at its core is about love — the kind that transforms you, redeems you, even breaks you. That emotional conflict set against a canvas of action and thrill gives the film a unique energy." The film is helmed by Shaneil Deo and produced by Supriya Yarlagadda under the Annapurna Studios banner. Sesh, who also serves as a writer on the project, is clearly steering Dacoit with personal conviction. This creative collaboration brings together emotion, scale, and spectacle in equal measure. For an actor celebrated for redefining modern Telugu cinema with his sharp storytelling instincts, Dacoit represents not just a new film, but a turning point—where love, for once, becomes the battleground. Apart from this, Mrunal will be next seen in Son of Sardaar 2 with Ajay Devgn. The film teaser has already released. Today, the title track was released. First Published: July 01, 2025, 18:32 IST
