Anshul Bammi returns to the TV show Advocate Anjali Awasthi, says, 'I'm excited to be back'
Anshul Bammi reprises his role in 'Aarti Anjali Awasthi' after a 20-year leap. His character, responsible for the lead couple's tragedy, faces the journalist daughter seeking revenge. The actress now plays dual roles as both mother and daughter. Actor Anshul Bammi is back on the sets of Advocate Anjali Awasthi , a show that's taken a dramatic 20-year leap and is now titled Aarti Anjali Awasthi . His character, who was earlier written off after a major plot twist, has made a comeback in the new storyline. 'Before the leap, I orchestrated an accident for the lead couple. The hero dies, the heroine and her daughter survive. But now, the mother has lost her senses, and the daughter—who is now the new heroine and a journalist—is seeking revenge from me for her parents' condition,' Anshul explains. Interestingly, the female lead is now playing a dual role—both as the mother and the daughter—and the current plot revolves around her and Anshul's character. 'Some bonds are hard to break, and this show was one of them,' he shares. 'The love from the team and the audience stayed with me, and when the opportunity came to return, it felt like coming home.' While many actors hesitate to return to old projects, Anshul saw it as a chance to build on a character he wasn't quite done with. 'The story has evolved beautifully, and I genuinely feel there's more to explore with my character. I'm excited to be back and contribute wholeheartedly once again.'

Anshul Bammi and Ankit Raizada's impromptu Kolkata
Anshul Bammi and Ankit Raizada completed their show, Advocate Anjali Awasthi. The actors celebrated by embarking on a 2200 km road trip. They drove from Kolkata to Mumbai. After wrapping up their year-long stint on Advocate Anjali Awasthi, actors Anshul Bammi and Ankit Raizada marked the end of the chapter on the show. With the show taking a leap, the actors finished their last shoot in Kolkata and made an impromptu plan to drive back home by taking a 2200 km road trip from Kolkata to Mumbai. Anshul says, 'It was the first time doing a proper long road trip like this. We have never driven so far. After wrapping up a full year on the show, this felt like the perfect way to sign off — to disconnect from the usual set life and reconnect with real moments on the road.' The journey began on June 28, and the duo reached Mumbai on July 2. They told us, "Rather than rushing through, we planned stopovers in Banaras and Pench National Park. The trip was all about soaking in the experience, with the monsoon only adding to its charm." The two further added, 'There wasn't a fixed plan. Everything was spontaneous — from the routes to the stays. A mix of good music, roadside food, chai in the rain, and the open road kept things going. Monsoon made the whole experience even better — lush views, cloudy skies, and that peaceful vibe you don't get in daily life. It wasn't about managing — it was about flowing with the journey.'

Anshul Bammi on life in Kolkata as he shoots for Advocate Anjali Awasthi; says ‘This city holds a raw, soulful energy'
Actor Anshul Bammi , who is currently portraying the antagonist Yuvraj Thakur in the television show Advocate Anjali Awasthi , has been stationed in Kolkata since mid-2024 for the shoot. Known for his previous roles in Pandya Store, Titli (as cop Ankit Patel), and as Sheshnag in Laxmi Narayan – Sukh Saamarthya Santoolan, Anshul is experiencing Kolkata in a deeply personal and transformative way. Sharing his thoughts about life in the city, Anshul told Times of India TV, 'Coming from Mumbai, which is a fast-moving city, Kolkata is totally the opposite. It's calm and more peaceful. I'm feeling life in a different way which is new, and I kinda enjoy it. I definitely miss Mumbai sometimes, but this city is treating me well.' While Kolkata's spiritual depth has left a lasting impression, the actor also admits he's developed a newfound fondness for Bengali sweets. 'I was never a fan of sweets, but you definitely can't resist the baked rasgulla,' he laughs. As a devout believer, Anshul found himself deeply moved by the spiritual energy of the city. 'Visiting Kalighat Temple was an intense and moving experience. The energy there is powerful—you can feel the history and faith. Dakshineswar Kali Temple is architecturally stunning and incredibly peaceful. The river adds a divine presence to the whole experience.' He adds, 'Kolkata holds a special kind of soulful, raw energy that stays with you.' But it's not all spiritual serenity. 'The city has a vibe that's hard to explain—a mix of old-world charm and quirky chaos. Tram rides, yellow ambassador taxis, phuchkas, kathi rolls—Kolkata surprises you at every corner.' Anshul signs off with a recommendation: 'Don't miss a boat ride on the Hooghly River at sunset—it's pure magic.' From mythology to modern drama, Anshul continues to explore roles—and cities—with equal passion.
