CBC's woke, anti-conservative bias blows up in its face

Article content Was journalist Travis Dhanraj too 'bold' for the CBC? On Monday, Dhanraj's released a scathing resignation letter accusing CBC's leadership of failing to achieve journalistic balance and engaging in tokenism. Article content Article content His lawyer, Kathryn Marshall, claims CBC did not want him booking ' conservative voices ' on his show, confirming sentiments many Canadians have long suspected about the mostly taxpayer-funded public broadcaster. Article content Dhanraj's ability to attract high-profile conservative guests set him apart, but CBC's internal politics and ideological bias — which is evident in its leadership and coverage — likely stifle any chance of reform, argues political strategist Anthony Koch, in an interview with the National Post's Terry Newman.

Jews must not hide who they are in the face of Islamic extremism

Article content Do recent attacks on Jewish institutions, Israel's heightened travel advisory for Canada and an RCMP brief suggesting violent extremism is a prominent national security threat suggest horrific attacks like those that took place in Washington, D.C., and Boulder, Colo., could happen here? Article content When lies about starvation and bombings circulate, antisemitism escalates, argues political strategist Anthony Koch, in an interview with the National Post's Terry Newman. Hundreds gather for Israel's Independence Day celebration at Montreal park

By Hundreds of people waving Israeli flags gathered at Macdonald Park in the Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough Thursday to celebrate Israel's 77th Independence Day. The Independence Day rally, known as Yom Ha'atzmaut, is normally held downtown, but event spokesperson Anthony Koch said it was moved to the park for security reasons. 'In the last few years, things have gotten a little bit heated,' Koch said, referring to rising global tensions following the Hamas attack on Israel Oct. 7, 2023, and subsequent Israeli military operations in Gaza. 'The cops wanted to make sure that, unlike in past years, they could reasonably ... limit safety concerns.' By 10 a.m., more than a dozen counter-protesters — mostly Hasidic Jewish men — had gathered across the park, waving Palestinian flags. One shouted through a megaphone, 'Shame on you! You're not a Jew!' This story was originally published May 1, 2025 at 11:07 AM.
