John Legend Has ‘No Regrets' About His Early Work With Ye, Even If He's Become a ‘Force of Hate'

John Legend is opening up about his relationship with Ye. The singer sat down with Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning to promote the North American leg of his 40-city world tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album Get Lifted and was asked about some of the comments his longtime collaborator (formerly Kanye West) has said about him. 'What kind of potatoes? Cheesy, garlic? … All of it makes me sad, though. All of it does. And it's not for me, because obviously, I smell great.' Legend added: 'It never affects me personally, but just the whole story is sad. Like, seeing this guy praise Hitler, seeing this guy be this force of hate and just vitriol and nastiness. Somebody who has made some of the great art of this century as an artist, as a performer, as a fashion designer, all of the things that he's done to make the world more beautiful and interesting and then for him to be this now, it's sad.' Legend was then asked about their early years working together, and the 'Ordinary People' singer had nothing but great memories and said those days were inspiring. 'He was full of so much energy and creativity and optimism and we really believed that we were starting a new movement in music, and being a part of that was inspiring,' he recalled. 'It was truly inspiring. That's why it's sad now because we did amazing things together as a collective, as a movement. Just think about all the amazing music that came from it. The G.O.O.D. Fridays, all the things that happen during the first 10 years of his career, just thrilling and to be part of that was amazing. I have no regrets. Even though he's gone completely left now, I'm so glad that we did what we did together.' Back in the spring, Ye was interviewed by DJ Akademiks while donning a black Ku Klux Klan robe and hood and he said Legend always wears sweaters no matter the weather and smells like mashed potatoes. Kanye West Has Apparently Changed His Name… Again

Ye has apparently switched up his moniker yet again, nearly four years after he legally renounced his birth name, Kanye Omari West. In business documents obtained by multipleoutlets on Tuesday, the rapper was listed under the name 'Ye Ye.' West's chief financial officer, Hussain Lalani, reportedly filed the documents with the California Secretary of State. 'Ye Ye' was listed as the 'manager or member' of West's companies Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label and Ox Paha Inc. in the documents, according to E! News. It's unclear whether the 'Power' musician, who has not publicly announced his new moniker, has filed separate documents to legally change his name again. Ye's representatives did not immediately reply to HuffPost's request for comment. In October 2021, a Los Angeles judge approved the 24-time Grammy winner's petition to officially change his name to Ye after he requested the name change in August. Several years earlier, in a 2018 post on what was then Twitter, the artist had written, 'The being formally known as Kanye West. I am YE.' That same year, Ye spoke to radio host Big Boy about the meaning behind the name. 'I believe Ye is the most commonly used word in the Bible,' he said in the June 2018 interview. 'In the Bible it means 'you.' So I'm you, I'm us. It went from being Kanye, which means the only one, to being just Ye — just being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confused, everything. I'm just more a reflection of who we are.' Justin Bieber Throws Hailey Bieber a Lavish First Mother's Day Celebration

Justin Bieber made sure Hailey Bieber felt extra appreciated on her very first Mother's Day as a parent, giving his famous wife a lavish celebration that he shared on Instagram Sunday (May 11). In one video shared by the pop star, Justin films Hailey while sitting next to her at an outdoor poolside dinner table decked out with flowers, candles and a bowl of tortilla chips as a mariachi quartet enters the frame. As the musicians play their instruments, the Rhode founder covers her mouth with surprise, periodically looking back at her husband and smiling lovingly. In one shot, the back of 9-month-old Jack Blues' head is visible in the bottom right corner of the frame. 'Best mommy day gurlie,' the 'Yummy' singer captioned the post. The holiday marked the Biebers' first time celebrating Mother's Day since welcoming baby Jack in August, becoming parents six years after tying the knot in 2018. On her own Instagram page, Hailey shared photos from her pregnancy in 2024 as well as more recent snaps of her son's tiny hands and feet, writing, 'i love being your mommy Jack Blues. Happy Mothers Day.' The couple has deliberately refrained from sharing their child's face online, but they do keep fans in the loop by sometimes posting photos of Jack that don't show defining features. In April, the 'Peaches' artist uploaded a photo of his son perched on his belly, seemingly ready to start crawling. Justin and Hailey's Mother's Day posts come a few weeks after they attended Coachella together. After returning home to Los Angeles, Justin called out the city's paparazzi by posting a video of a flock of photographers blocking his path outside as he walked to his car. 'This has to stop,' he captioned the clip, later writing in a follow-up post, 'IM CURRENTLY ASKING [GOD] TO HELP ME WITH PATIENCE BECAUSE It CAN BE REALLY HARD TO NOT RIP THESE F–KIN GUYS HEADS OFF.' The Weeknd to Make Late Night Interview Debut on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'

The Weeknd is finally giving an interview after hours, with the hitmaker heading to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for his first-ever couch conversation on a late-night talk show next week. As announced by NBC and shared exclusively with Billboard Friday (May 9), the musician born Abel Tesfaye will make his late-night interview debut on the program on May 15. In addition to chatting with Fallon for the first time ever, the 'Blinding Lights' singer will also perform. A companion film of the same name starring the musician, Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan is set to premiere in theaters May 16, one day after Tesfaye's Tonight Show stint. Also on Friday, the 'Save Your Tears' artist is set to kick off his 2025 run of After Hours Til Dawn Tour dates, starting in Glendale, Ariz., at State Farm Arena. The leg will see him going back and forth between the United States and Canada for the next four months or so, ending Sept. 3 in San Antonio, Texas. As evidenced by next week marking the first time he's done an interview of the sort in his decade-plus career, Tesfaye has largely steered clear of the late-night scene. In 2019, he performed on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, shortly after which he sang on Jimmy Kimmel Live! The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs from 11:35 p.m. to 12:35 a.m. ET/PT on NBC. It's also available on demand on Peacock. Kelly Clarkson Tells Fans She's ‘Bummed' Her Talk Show Stops Her From Touring During NJ Concert

Kelly Clarkson is getting candid with fans about why she hasn't been hitting the road lately. During her concert in Atlantic City, N.J., on Friday (May 9), the 43-year-old pop star and TV personality told the crowd that touring isn't realistic right now due to the demanding schedule of The Kelly Clarkson Show. It's like a whole other job,' Clarkson said, referencing her band, according to Page Six. The three-time Grammy winner also noted that being a single mother takes up much of her time. Still, Clarkson expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform two nights at Atlantic City's Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena — her first live shows in nearly six months. 'We are bummed 'cause we love doing shows, and it's hard to fit it in, so it's cool when it does work out with the schedule,' the American Idol alum told the audience. 'And it's cool to get to see your faces and feed off y'all. Thank you so much for having so much energy.' Her 90-minute set included fan-favorite hits such as 'My Life Would Suck Without You,' 'Because of You,' 'Breakaway,' 'Miss Independent,' 'Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)' and 'Since U Been Gone.' It marked her first full-length concert since November 2024. Clarkson hasn't embarked on a full tour since 2019. In the years since, she has booked Las Vegas residencies — including shows at PH Live at Planet Hollywood in 2023 and 2024. Earlier this year, she announced a new Vegas residency, Kelly Clarkson: Studio Sessions, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The show opens July 4 and runs through July and August, with additional dates scheduled for November. In March, Clarkson celebrated the milestone 1,000th episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show. The daytime program, which launched in 2019, was renewed by NBC Owned Television Stations for a seventh season in December 2024. Her contract is set to expire next year, Page Six reports. The show has earned 22 Daytime Emmy Awards, including eight individual wins for Clarkson herself. Most recently, it won outstanding daytime talk series for the fourth consecutive year at the 2024 Daytime Emmys. Now in its sixth season, The Kelly Clarkson Show averages 1.2 million viewers per day and remains one of the top syndicated talk shows in the country, airing on more than 200 stations nationwide.
