Rajasthan Cop Caught With Rs 9 Lakh Bribe In Car, Rs 30 Lakh Found In House
Jaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught an additional superintendent of police for alleged bribe money of Rs 9.35 lakh, an official statement issued here on Friday said. Jagaram Meena, the accused additional superintendent of police (ASP), was coming to Jaipur from Jhalawar in a car on Friday evening. The ACB team stopped the car at Shivdaspura toll post and found Rs 9.35 lakh during search. The ASP could not answer about this money, the statement said. The ACB later searched the house of Meena in Kesar Nagar, Jagatpura. About Rs 30 lakh were found in the house. ACB Director General (DG) Dr Ravi Prakash Meharda said the Intelligence Wing received information that ASP Meena is coming to Jaipur from Jhalawar with a huge amount of bribe. Based on this input, a trap was laid to nab the accused officer. Further investigation is underway, he added.

9.35 lakh cash found in car of ACB's additional SP
Jaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Friday recovered Rs 9.35 lakh in cash from the vehicle of its own additional SP, Jagram Meena, near the Shivdaspura checkpost on the outskirts of Jaipur. A team of ACB officials intercepted Meena's car around 9:30pm as it entered city limits. During the search, two separate bags containing cash were found inside the vehicle. Meena, who was recently posted with the ACB's Jhalawar unit, was attached to the Bhilwara unit just a day earlier on Thursday. He was under surveillance for the past two months for allegedly accepting kickbacks from various departments and officials. Sources in the agency told TOI that the cash appears to be bribe money. "He was travelling from Jhalawar and headed to his home in Jagatpura when we intercepted him. A separate ACB team is searching his house," said an official. As of late Friday night, Meena was being interrogated at the Shivdaspura police station. This is the second incident in recent weeks where an ACB officer has come under the scanner. Last month, Additional SP Surendra Kumar Sharma was arrested for allegedly running a corruption racket. Sharma, through his aides, was accused of collecting bribes from transport and other department officials under the promise of shielding them from ACB scrutiny.

ACB raids RTA, sub-registrar offices in Telangana, seizes unaccounted cash amid graft crackdown
HYDERABAD: Amid ongoing corruption allegations in the Transport department, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday carried out surprise inspections at multiple locations across Telangana, seizing over Rs 2.7 lakh in unaccounted cash. This marks the fourth such crackdown on Road Transport Authority (RTA) offices since May 2024. Raids were conducted at the Salabatpur RTA check post in Kamareddy district and RTA offices in Peddapalli, Trimulgherry, and Uppal. A total of Rs 1.81 lakh was recovered from these sites, along with evidence of procedural violations. In simultaneous checks, sub-registrar offices in Burgampadu (Khammam) and Bheemadevarapally (Warangal) were also raided, yielding Rs 91,000 in unaccounted money. Several irregularities were flagged. ACB officials said detailed reports would be submitted to the state government for further action. In May 2024, the ACB raided 12 RTA offices and checkposts across the state, seizing Rs 2.70 lakh and uncovering multiple violations. Sleuths, posing as drivers and common citizens, exposed bribery by RTA agents and officials. As a result, promotions of some staff were stalled. Earlier, on December 4, 2024, ACB teams seized Rs 62,500 at Bhoraj (Adilabad), Rs 86,600 at Vishnupuram (Nalgonda) and Rs 29,200 at Alampur (Gadwal) checkposts. In March, Rs 27,000 was recovered from an agent at the Nizamabad District Transport Office.

Woman Cop Caught Taking Rs 95,000 Bribe In Maharashtra
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A woman police naik has been caught allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 95,000 from a person at the behest of an inspector in Maharashtra's Dharashiv district, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said on Thursday. The 34-year-old police naik, posted at Dharashiv rural police station, was arrested after being caught taking the bribe on Wednesday, an ACB official said. A person, whose son was accused in a case, had approached the inspector at the police station seeking help. The inspector asked the person to meet his woman colleague, who then allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh from the person on behalf of her senior and finalised the deal at Rs 95,000, the official said. Based on the person's complaint, the ACB laid a trap and caught the police naik while she was accepting the bribe amount from the person near a government guest house in Dharashiv on Wednesday. The accused inspector is currently hospitalised due to some health issues and would be arrested after being discharged, the official said, adding a search was carried out at the policeman's house. The ACB has seized two mobile phones each from both the accused and registered a case against them under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, the official said.
