Yoane Wissa leaves Brentford training camp amid Newcastle and Spurs interest
The loss of so many key figures this summer is likely to have strengthened Brentford's resolve to keep Wissa at the Gtech Community Stadium, although the club's model generally means they will sell a player for profit if their valuation is met. The situation is made more perilous for Brentford because Wissa only has one year remaining on his contract at the club, although there is an option to extend the deal to the summer of 2027. Wissa turns 29 in September and his age could be another factor, as this summer likely represents Brentford's last opportunity to generate a significant fee for the DR Congo international. It remains to be seen, therefore, if rival clubs are willing to make an offer big enough to tempt Brentford to cash in on such a key player. Wissa joined Brentford from Lorient in 2021 in a deal worth around £8.5 million. The loss of Mbeumo and Norgaard already represents a tough test for new head coach Keith Andrews, who is in the first few weeks of his first managerial job. Brentford's biggest summer signing so far has been young midfielder Antoni Milambo, who has joined from Feyenoord. He is believed to have cost around £20m.

Who is Bees target Milambo?
Brentford are closing in on a fourth signing of the summer according to multiple reports, with 20-year-old Antoni Milambo expected to join from Feyenoord in a £17m deal plus Netherlands Under-21 international played in a variety of positions last season, though predominantly on the right of a midfield three before settling in the middle of that trio from the beginning of April, soon after Robin van Persie became head coach. Milambo became the youngest player in Feyenoord's history as a 16-year-old in 2021 but it is only in the most recent season that he became a first-team regular. He started nine of Feyenoord's 10 Champions League fixtures, scoring in away wins over Girona and Benfica, and his heat map for 2024-25 shows plenty of involvement in attacking midfield as a good ball-carrier, Milambo finished the season with seven goals and seven assists in 42 games. That ranked him joint-first for goal involvements among under-21 players at Dutch top-flight clubs.
