Dermot Mulroney files for divorce from Prima Apollinaare after nearly 15 years
Dermot Mulroney is ready to start a new chapter of his life. According to TMZ, the 61-year-old 'My Best Friend's Wedding' actor filed for a 'standard dissolution of marriage' from his wife, Prima Apollinaare, on June 21 in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The couple were married for nearly 15 years and share two kids — Mabel Ray, 17, and Sally June, 15. Court documents obtained by TMZ revealed that the 'Young Guns' actor requested joint physical and legal custody of their two daughters, but asked the court to deny support payments for Apollinaare. Instead, Mulroney is asking the court to grant him spousal support for the two children. People later reported that 'neither side is asking for anything, and no one is denying anything.' The outlet clarified that the estranged couple aren't arguing over the children, aren't concerned about finances, and reportedly used mediators instead of lawyers. 'They are friends and this is amicable and they were advised to file this way,' People reported. According to USA Today, Mulroney failed to disclose the couple's official date of separation, but cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for the divorce. As for the couple's assets, Mulroney has stated that 'all community earnings and accumulation during marriage through the date of separation' will be considered community property, per People. Mulroney and Apollinaare started dating in 2008 — one year after his divorce from Catherine Keener. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Mabel Ray, later that year before welcoming their second daughter, Sally June, in 2009. They tied the knot in December 2010. The divorce comes more than a year after Mulroney and Apollinaare appeared together on Fox's game show 'We Are Family.' Apollinaare, an Italian-born singer-songwriter, sang 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow' by the Shirelles before Mulroney, a professional cellist, joined her for a duet of 'Islands in the Stream' by Dolly Parton. After Mulroney's identity was revealed, Apollinaare revealed that they've been together for 19 years. The couple opened up about the experience in a February 2024 interview with Entertainment Weekly. 'They knew Prima's music and put together that we are this sort of secret couple even though we've been together for 20 years. Kind of a stealth Hollywood couple,' Mulroney said of the couple's duet. Apollinaare added that the pair 'like to do karaoke together and we both like music so much.' 'It is great to come out and then turn to your own spouse and sing right into their face. That was unusual. I have to say, really, really fun,' Mulroney continued. In addition to his two daughters with Apollinaare, Mulroney also shares a son Clyde, born in 1997, with Keener.

Dermot Mulroney has filed for divorce from his wife, Prima Apollinaare, after nearly 15 years of marriage. The 61-year-old actor submitted a dissolution of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences, to a Los Angeles County Superior Court on June 21, documents obtained by show. He did not include an exact date of separation and simply wrote TBD. Mulroney and Apollinaare, a musician, tied the knot on December 9, 2010. They share two children together: 17-year-old Mabel Ray Mulroney and 15-year-old Sally June Mulroney. In the documents, the 'Chicago Fire' star requested joint legal and physical custody of their daughters. He is also asking the court to terminate spousal support for Apollinaare and grant him spousal support, instead. Their division of assets and property will be determined at a later date. In addition to his daughters, Mulroney is a father to 26-year-old son Clyde Mulroney, whom he shares with ex-wife and actor Catherine Keener. The two actors were married from 1990 to 2007. Mulroney and Apollinaare appeared together on the Fox game show 'We Are Family' in February 2024, according to Entertainment Weekly. Apollinaare participated in the Season 1 finale of the show, which highlighted the singing talents of celebrity relatives as contestants guessed their true identities. In the episode, Apollinaare performed 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow' by The Shirelles before her husband secretly joined her for a duet of 'Islands in the Stream' by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. Apollinaare's identity was revealed later in the episode when Mulroney came out on stage and sang with her again. Speaking about their time on the show, Mulroney told EW, 'It was such an amazing phone call to get that the show reached out to us. They knew Prima's music and put together that we are this sort of secret couple even though we've been together for 20 years. Kind of a stealth Hollywood couple. So it really works perfectly for this show.' Apollinaare said they agreed to be on 'We Are Family' when they learned it featured contestants like nurses and first responders who could win money. 'We both like to do karaoke together and we both like music so much. It was actually, for me, it was really an amazing experience to be on television and singing. Of course with my husband, I play with him all the time in the house,' she shared. Late last year, Mulroney booked a starring role on 'Chicago Fire,' which films in the Windy City, as Chief Dom Pascal. The show wrapped its 13th season in May.

Dermot Mulroney Pulls The Cord On 14-Year Marriage With Money Move
Dermot Mulroney's marriage life is getting a serious shake-up. The actor has officially filed to end his 14-year marriage to his wife, Prima Apollinaare, and he is not leaving any stone unturned when it comes to finances. Dermot Mulroney and Prima Apollinaare tied the knot in 2008 and are parents to two daughters. The actor was previously married to actress Catherine Keener before their split in 2007. The American actor beelined it to court with one intention only- to call it quits on his union with Apollinaare. Mulroney also requested that the court order his estranged wife to pay him spousal support, but he wants to prevent her from requesting such support from him. The TV star reportedly filled in the blanks for the standard dissolution of marriage. He is currently sharing custody of their two minor kids with his estranged wife. However, TMZ reports that child support and custody talks are lurking in the shadows of their divorce. As for their mailing address, the pair reportedly still shares the same Sherman Oaks address. When the singer and Mulroney initially met, she went by the name Tharita Cutulle. According to PEOPLE, by 2015, the songwriter filed to change her name to Prima Apollinaare officially. She refused to disclose her reason for this name change, but her estranged husband seemingly got with the program when he addressed his estranged wife by her new name, "Prima," in various interviews. In their professional life, Apollinaare and her ex have collaborated on a few visual projects together. The singer was also listed as a producing partner for Mulroney's 2010 biopic, which he directed. The former couple also shares a familiar sense of humor. For Mulroney, his first name always poses a problem for people, as they usually misspell or mispronounce it. Although Mulroney won hearts for his acting prowess, he carried a burning passion for making music, just like his estranged wife. Apollinaare began her career as a solo artist in 2017 and released the music video for her debut single, "Stand Up for Love," on YouTube in December of that year. Since then, Apollinaare has added one album, two EPs, and several singles to her music catalog on Spotify. Mulroney has tried his hand at music and even succeeded while at it. In 2023, the actor spoke about his reality as a professional cellist who had performed in an orchestra for several film projects. His resume includes "Planet of the Apes" and a few movies from the "Mission Impossible" franchise. The actor starred in the 1997 flick "My Best Friend's Wedding" alongside Julia Roberts, Rupert Everett, and Cameron Diaz. While the movie performed well at the box office, Mulroney claimed it spelled doom for his career for a year. Hollywood Reporter shared that the actor confessed he was waiting for the big roles to come his way due to the movie's popularity, but nothing materialized for a long time. "I chalked it up to me being so tiny on the poster, the little guy on the cake. I thought, gosh, you guys, if you'd made me a little bigger, maybe I could have gotten a job," Mulroney explained his coping mechanism for that period in his life. The star eventually bounced back from his trying time and went on to play more roles in other big projects. The 61-year-old began his illustrious acting career in the 1980, making his mark with movies such as "Young Guns," "Longtime Companion," and "Where The Day Takes You." His role in "My Best Friend's Wedding" introduced him to a broader audience and established him as a figure in Hollywood. He subsequently appeared in other projects such as "About Schmidt" and "Zodiac," among others. He was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award in the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture category for his role in "August: Osage County" in 2013. In 1992, the actor won the Best Actor Award for his role in "Where The Day Takes You" at the Seattle International Film Festival. Will Dermot Mulroney and Prima Apollinaare's divorce get messy?
