Shoppers battle heatwave with cooling blanket now £26 in Prime Day deal

As the final hours of Amazon Prime Day tick away, shoppers are snapping up heatwave friendly bargains to help with this weekend's hot temperatures Many will be struggling to sleep as another heatwave embraces the UK this weekend, so ensuring a cool and comfortable experience is a top priority for everyone. Amazon Prime Day runs until midnight tonight and has huge deals on every from Apple Airpods to mammoth bulk buys of KitKats that work out cheaper than supermarkets. But if the weather is a bit much, the OMERAI Cooling Blanket is an Amazon bestseller that has proved a top choice with many shoppers. The summer essential has been reduced to £26.24 in a Prime Day deal, saving 25% off its usual £34.99 price, making it a relatively small investment that shoppers report makes a big difference to your summer nights. One customer even shared that: "We took it away on our holiday to France to help survive the extreme temperatures, and it worked well." Designed specifically for hot sleepers and muggy evenings, this clever blanket is made from cool-to-the-touch, breathable fabric, helping to regulate body temperature and prevent an uncomfortable and restless night. One side features a refreshing, cold-to-the-skin finish, while the other offers a soft, breathable texture for when the temperature finally drops, giving the best conditions no matter the weather. Measuring 150x200cm, it can be used on beds, sofas, or even as a lightweight travel throw on holiday. Its lightweight, packable design of the cooling blanket means it's easily folded into a bag ready for picnics, camping trips, or sunny afternoons in the garden. Alternatively, Oodie has slashed the price of several cooling blankets when you buy two or more online. Elsewhere, Dunelm has recently launched its Soft and Cooling range of bedding too, which is ideal for summer. However, Prime members keen to get the item delivered quickly have snapped up more than 100 in the past month, earning the blanket an Amazon's Choice badge. One happy review read: "I was very sceptical about this purchase, but stand corrected. The fabric is soft and has good weight and texture. Definitely worth the price." Another buyer shared: "My son constantly gets hot, and this was the perfect solution. He even puts it in the freezer for extreme cooling." It does however take some sleepers a while to get accustomed to, with a three-star reviewer explaining: "It takes a while to feel a little bit of relief during this hot weather, but it is a lovely material to sleep with, no added weight, and it does make it a functional temp after your body gets used to it." This offer is an Amazon Prime Day deal so will end at midnight tonight (July 11).

Shoppers can pick up an Echo Pop speaker for less than £6 if they do one thing

Amazon's Prime Day 2022 is now in full swing, with shoppers snapping up huge savings on everything from Apple Airpods to the ASUS Rog Ally, but the biggest discount of the lot is on the Echo Pop speaker. The largest Amazon sale of the year has kicked off with a bang, offering massive savings on a wide range of home and personal tech upgrades for those keen to bag a bargain. Shoppers are already seizing fantastic deals for Amazon Prime Day, which lasts until 11.59pm on July 11, on everything from Apple Airpods to the ASUS Rog Ally, now at 23% off its RRP. However, amidst the discounted power banks and air fryers, the most substantial savings on electronics are typically found on Amazon's own devices. This year's Prime Day has already seen significant price slashes on Kindles (39%), tablets (43%) and Ring doorbells (50%), but some of the biggest deals are on Alexa devices. Alexa smart home devices have become a household essential in millions of homes since the Echo was first launched in time for Black Friday 2014. Amazon boasts that the technology has acquired 'tens of thousands' of skills over the years, from playing music, audiobooks and podcasts to controlling compatible smart home devices like plugs or lights, all achievable hands-free with Alexa voice control. Alexa can also set timers, check the weather, place Amazon orders, answer queries and more. While Alexa is a firm favourite in many UK households, there are several other big-name alternatives available for British shoppers. Google Nest devices come with Google Assistant, while Apple Homepods are powered by Siri and sync seamlessly with other Apple devices, reports Kent Live. Although the specifications vary and Apple inevitably integrates better with iPhones and iPads, both devices have a higher price tag, especially considering that the Google Nest requires a home hub to connect relevant devices. In contrast, one of the smallest and most versatile speakers in Amazon's smart range, the Echo Pop, usually retails at £44.99 but has been slashed to £19.99 for Prime Day. While the 53% discount is already substantial, savvy shoppers have discovered a way to snag one for less than £6, equating to an 88% saving on the usual price. Bargain seekers who register with money-saving website TopCashback can bag a free £15 new member sign-up bonus payable on their first purchase through a qualifying website, along with a percentage back on every qualifying spend. For those using the sign-up link to buy an Echo Pop, after cashback, the high-tech speaker will effectively cost £5.55, making it even cheaper than Black Friday deals. The popular Wi-Fi and Bluetooth smart speaker is available in four different colours and boasts a speaker that delivers full sound, perfect for smaller spaces. The Echo Pop now has more than 19,000 reviews on Amazon, with an average rating of 4.7 out of five stars. 82% of all customers awarded the device a 5 star rating, with buyers commending the Pop's design and audio quality, alongside its straightforward setup process. One purchaser commented: "So many uses. Super handy. Great sound quality." They continued: "Looks nice and neat. Great volume for a cheaper smaller model. I haven't noticed any difference in sound quality than our more expensive Alexa. Is perfect for so many uses. Door bell, listening to the radio/ music/ audio books, we have them set up with routines so they play at certain times of day to tell the time, weather, flash news briefing and radio for the morning, then nice chilled music in the evening to unwind. Brilliant, no issues." Another buyer noted: " The device is fully functional and very easy to use. Alexa is responsive to voice commands, and the speaker quality is decent for everyday use. My main concern is that it has to be plugged in at all times to work, which limits portability. However, this does eliminate any worry about battery life. Overall, it's a great device for the price and offers good value for money." A four-star customer remarked: "I've been using the Echo Pop for a few weeks now, and it's exceeded my expectations for such a small and affordable smart speaker! It's compact, looks great in charcoal, and does a fantastic job as both a Bluetooth speaker and a smart device with Alexa built in. There are a few areas for improvement, but overall, it's a solid addition to my home setup." However, they noted: "While the sound quality is good, the bass is limited due to its compact size. It's fine for casual music listening and spoken audio, but if you're a bass lover or want rich, deep sound, you might find it lacking compared to larger speakers in the Echo line." " This speaker does a great job in small or medium rooms, but it struggles a bit in larger spaces. It doesn't quite have the power to fill a big room, so it's best suited for personal or smaller spaces." The Echo Pop isn't the only Alexa gadget on offer in the sale. The Echo Spot alarm clock has been slashed to £49.99, offering a 38% discount. Meanwhile, the Echo Show 8 has had a price cut of 40%, now going for £89.99. - Sign up as a new member of TopCashback using this link. - Proceed to shop and check out as normal. - The cashback should track and show up in your TopCashback account within seven working days from the purchase date.

Le Creuset rainbow mugs cut to £9 each in Prime deal are a 'daily dose of joy'

Amazon Prime Day is in full swing, with shoppers snapping up discounts on everything from the cheapest Apple Airpods of the year through to well-reviewed hair straighteners now 75% off. But hundreds of shoppers have been taking the opportunity to pick up a taste of Le Creuset kitchen luxury at a more budget-friendly price thanks to the return of one of the highlights of previous Amazon events. As reported in the Express at the time, a set of six vibrant, rainbow-coloured Le Creuset stoneware coffee mugs topped the best seller lists for Amazon Spring Deals Day with thousands of shoppers snapping up the deal before it sold out. Now the cheery high-end cups are back, with the set of six reduced by 38% to £52.99 in a deal for Prime members for the duration of the sale which runs to 11.59pm tomorrow night (July 11). With the 350ml mugs sold individually at £17 each, this effectively makes each mug is almost half the price of buying them one at a time, with each mug working out at £8.80 each within the deal. Meanwhile, the six mug set, which includes Cherry, Volcanic, Soleil, Palm, Teal and Ultra Violet shades, still costs a hefty £85 when bought directly from Le Creuset's website. Well-known among foodies, Le Creuset is a premium brand which usually comes with a similarly high-end price tag, so these mugs are a great way to start or expand their collection. As well as the vibrant aesthetic, they are a practical option for the kitchen, being freezer and dishwasher safe and made of chip-resistant enamel able, according to the brand, to withstand temperatures of up to 260°C. They also come with a ten-year guarantee, so should be a cupboard staple for years to come. Coffee and tea lovers have several other great options courtesy of the Amazon Prime Day sale, with Ninja's hot and cold Thirsti travel bottle being an early sell out during the event (it's now only available from Ninja directly), outselling a huge 25% off deal on Stanley Quencher mugs. Elsewhere, Dawson's rainbow stoneware mugs come in a shade smaller than Le Creuset's options holding 312ml of liquid, but are also cheaper at £16.99 for the set. Meanwhile the Le Creuset mugs have thousands of devotees, with more than 1,300 Amazon shoppers awarding the set a rating of 4.8 stars out of 5. Shoppers praise them for their bright colours, their sturdiness and how they keep drinks hot for a good length of time. One happy shopper described them as 'eye candy for your kitchen,' adding: "The rainbow array of colours is simply stunning and has turned my mundane coffee routine into a daily dose of joy. Choosing which hue matches my mood has become a morning ritual. "The quality is exactly what you'd expect. The stoneware feels substantial and the chip-resistant enamel has stood up to my clumsiest moments. I've accidentally clinked them against countertops more times than I'd like to admit, and they still look brand new." However, they added a word of warning: "The weight of the mugs is also worth noting. While I appreciate the sturdy feel, some might find them a bit heavy, especially when full." Another reviewer said: " These mugs are really excellent quality and will last for years. I bought them to replace some Denby mug). These Le Creuset mugs are equally good quality, with very shiny surfaces inside and out so they are really easy to keep clean and do not stain with tea and coffee. The colours are great, and all arrived safely packed and in perfect condition." Another shopper said while they were 'a bit more expensive, the quality is there,' adding: "After years buying cheap mugs, we finally cracked and bought the full size le Creuset mugs and fell in love with them. They feel solid, wash great in the dishwasher and we love the look. A bit on the expensive side, but for quality cups that will last we're happy." The Le Creuset rainbox mug set is just one of hundreds of eye-catching deals that are part of the Amazon Prime Day event, which runs until 11.59pm on Friday, July 11. But Amazon is not the only online retailer trying to tempt shoppers to bag a bargain ahead of the summer holidays. Lakeland has a huge kitchen sale running currently offering up to 50% off everything from ice cream makers to air fryers. Meanwhile, Argos has just launched an up to 50% off sale with discounts on big name brands like Shark, Dyson and LEGO, while Boots' Super Savings Week is packed with some big discounts - particularly around fragrances and premium beauty products.
