Apple unveils new iPhones in September, so it stands to reason to expect the company to do the same this year. But when exactly in September? Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, a man always having some sort of insider Apple information, thinks he has the answer. He thinks the iPhone 17 family will be launching the week that commences on September 8. iPhone 17 family dummy units The event could very well take place on September 8, which is a Monday, or September 9, or September 10. The company never holds events on Fridays and it's avoided association with September 11 for obvious historical reasons. So those are the three options, Apple just has to pick from them. This year we'll see the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, with the Air replacing the Plus model in the line, that so far has been the worst seller. Apple iPhone 17 Release Date: New Clue Revealed In Latest Leak
Last month, I assessed exactly when the next iPhone series, would go on sale. Now, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has had his say. Happily, it's along the same lines, so perhaps we can begin to be confident when the iPhone will land. Apple iPhone 16: when will the iPhone 17 go on sale, exactly? In the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, Gurman seeks to answer the question: 'When will Apple hold its iPhone 17 launch event?' Although he went into much less detail than my report (and I admit it, brevity is the soul of wit), he lighted on similar dates. 'The company usually unveils its new iPhones the week after Labor Day. If that holds — and there's no reason to believe it won't — you can pencil in the keynote for the week of Sept. 8,' he began. This continues to make sense to me: the week before would be when the large-scale electronics trade show IFA takes place in Berlin and it's already thought that there will be some big announcements there. Apple won't want to share the spotlight with the myriad other brands popping up in Berlin. 'In the past, Apple has typically favored Tuesdays, but there have been some exceptions in recent years,' Gurman goes on. He's referring to the fact that last year's event, against most people's expectations, including his, was held on a Monday. I'm quietly delighted that I did report the right date in advance. Forgive me a moment of glee, please. 'So it could be that Monday (the 8th), though I suspect the 9th or 10th is probably more likely. Apple never holds events on Fridays, so you can rule out the 12th, and it has avoided launching new products on Sept. 11,' Gurman concludes. This is the new information here. I had only briefly considered the Monday, but Gurman is giving it more credence. However, we both think that Tuesday 9 or Wednesday 10 are more likely. As I said before, my money is on the keynote happening on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. Pacific in the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino. Gurman only talks about the keynote, but when will the onsale date be? I still think the iPhone 17 series will go on sale on Friday, Sept.19.

IN just a few weeks, Apple will almost certainly lift the lid on a treasure trove of new gadgets. This tech haul should land just in time for Christmas – but what Apple devices will actually go be going on our list to Santa? 10 10 Every September, Apple hosts a major tech event. This is usually where each year's main iPhone release is revealed. It'll then go on sale about a week and a half later. Last year's saw the iPhone 16 debut. We'll almost certainly see other Apple gadgets too, but they're all top secret for now. In fact, Apple hasn't even confirmed plans for a September event – but it doesn't take much guesswork to work out what's what. WHEN IS THE SEPTEMBER 2025 APPLE EVENT? Although the Apple event is likely now just weeks away, we won't find out the truth until very close to the big day. Just last year, I predicted the iPhone 17 release date, and that means I think I've worked out when the event will take place too. Usually the iPhone reveal is on a Tuesday or Wednesday in the first half of the month. So this year, we're expecting to see it on Tuesday, September 9 or Wednesday, September 10. Tuesday feels like the safer pick, so mark your calendars. This could be the thinnest model we've seen in years – and possibly ever. These gadgets will likely ship with brand new A19 processors. And it's rumoured that we'll see a larger camera panel on the back of the phone that stretches all the way across. The Apple Watch is also looking set for an upgrade this year. On-and-off rumours have suggested that Apple is hoping to include a blood pressure monitoring feature on the Apple Watch Series 11. And we could see an even more powerful Apple Watch Ultra 3 with the same perk – in addition to satellite-powered texting. That makes sense, given that it's aimed at outdoors types. We're also expecting to see a major audio upgrade in the form of the Apple AirPods Pro 3. The original AirPods Pro came out in 2019 as an upgraded noise-cancelling alternative to the regular AirPods wireless earbuds. Second-gen AirPods Pro dropped in September 2022, followed by a boosted version of the same model with a USB-C port for charging. For the AirPods Pro 3, Apple could introduce a redesigned model with improved noise cancellation and boosted audio. But there are also rumours that the new earbuds could also monitor your heart rate and body temperature for health purposes. Finally, it's also possible that we might see a new version of the Apple TV 4K. That's Apple's plug-in streamer that connects to the back of your telly to give it a fancy iPhone-style UI, plus access to loads of apps and features. The jury is still out on whether this will debut at the September event or a later Apple showcase (or possibly via press release alone). Apple's last major Apple TV 4K release was in 2022 with the third-generation model. So it could be time for an upgraded version with faster processing. Other gadgets that have also been rumoured for release in 2025, but are less certain, include: A smart home hub display New Mac and MacBook Pro models with an Apple M5 chip New Apple AirTag 2 Apple Vision Pro 2 Sadly none of these gadgets are guaranteed, and could come in 2026 (or never!). We won't know for sure until Apple chief Tim Cook takes to the stage at the company's Cupertino, California HQ later this year.
