Apple introduces AppleCare One subscription service to protect devices
Protecting electronic devices is a priority for most people, and Apple has come up with a plan to help its customers do just that. The tech giant unveiled its new AppleCare One service on July 23, a subscription service that allows customers to protect up to three products in one plan for $19.99 per month. Customers will also have the option to add more devices at any time for $5.99 per month for each device. Apple says the plan offers customers "one-stop service and support from Apple experts across all of the Apple products in their plan for simple, affordable peace of mind." Starting July 24, customers in the U.S. can sign up for AppleCare One directly on their iPhone, iPad or Mac, or by visiting their nearest Apple Store, the company said in a news release. "Built on the trusted foundation of AppleCare+, AppleCare One extends that same reliability and makes it easier than ever to protect the products you love and depend on like iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, combining simplicity and exceptional value," said Bob Borchers, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, in the news release. What does AppleCare One protect against? According to Apple, AppleCare One includes all of the benefits of AppleCare+, including unlimited repairs for accidents like drops and spills, 24/7 priority support from Apple experts, quick and convenient Apple-certified service and battery coverage. Apple says the plan also expands theft and loss protection beyond iPhones to also cover iPads and Apple Watches. Elon Musk fans flock to new Tesla Diner: See the opening day photos How much does AppleCare One cost? The company says AppleCare One pricing is the same regardless of the products that are covered – $19.99 per month. This means a customer can enroll their iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch in an AppleCare One plan instead of enrolling each device in separate AppleCare+ plans. Additional items can be added for $5.99 per month for each device. Are existing devices eligible for AppleCare One coverage? Apple says customers can now add products they already own that are up to four years old to an AppleCare One plan if they are in good condition. To verify "good condition," products may be required to undergo a diagnostic check using a customer's iPhone or iPad, or at an Apple Store, prior to being added to the plan, Apple said. AppleCare One is AppleCare+ for more devices with theft and loss coverage for iPads and Apple Watches
Today Apple has introduced AppleCare One. This is like AppleCare+, but for multiple devices (regardless of what they are). For $19.99 per month, it covers up to three products, and you can add more at any time for $5.99 per month each. Note that any device needs to be less than four years old, and headphones have to be less than one year old, and all devices have to be in good condition. AppleCare One is initially available in the US, starting tomorrow. You'll be able to sign up on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, or at your nearest Apple Store. It includes all the benefits of AppleCare+, just extended to more devices. It lets you add new products or remove some at any time. So you get unlimited repairs for accidents like drops and spills, 24/7 priority support from Apple experts, quick Apple-certified service, and battery coverage. With AppleCare One, theft and loss protection also covers iPads and Apple Watches. If you add, say, an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch, you'll be saving $11 per month over enrolling each one into AppleCare+ separately. You also have a much larger enrollment window than AppleCare+'s 60 days after purchase. And when you trade in an enrolled product to Apple, it will automatically be removed from your AppleCare One plan and replaced with the new device. Source

AppleCare One lets you protect three devices under one subscription
Apple has introduced a new tier of its AppleCare insurance policy called AppleCare One . This allows you to cover up to three of your Apple products under a single plan for $20 per month. If you want to add extra devices beyond that, you can do so for an additional $6 per month, per product. Apple first introduced AppleCare+ in 2011 as a means of insuring your iPhone against accidental damage, and has since expanded the plan to its entire product line, adding coverage for theft and loss. Currently, AppleCare+ costs from $10 per month to insure an individual iPhone, with subscription prices starting at $3.49 per month for a Mac , and $5 for an iPad , depending on the model you own. You can also insure your Apple Watch , Vision Pro headset, AirPods, Apple TV and HomePod either individually, or as part of your new AppleCare One plan. AppleCare One features all the same benefits as AppleCare+, including unlimited repairs for accidents such as drops and spills, round-the-clock support from Apple experts, servicing and battery coverage. The theft and loss protection that was previously exclusive to iPhone plans now also covers iPad and Apple Watch if they're included in your AppleCare One plan. You can make up to three claims a year for theft or loss of an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch. The $20 monthly price is fixed regardless of which products you include (as is the $6 you pay to add an additional device), meaning the amount you actually save will depend on what they would cost to insure individually, so it's worth looking into that before you take out the new plan. Apple says that people who cover their iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch could save as much as $11 per month on AppleCare One compared to what they'd pay if each device was insured under AppleCare+. Also new with AppleCare One is the ability to add devices you already own to a protection plan. Previously you'd have to decide within 60 days of purchasing an Apple device. Apple says that providing they're under four years old, are in good condition when added and are in your Apple account, they can be covered under AppleCare One. You may need to run a diagnostic check either on the device itself or at an Apple Store to get it approved. AppleCare One also simplifies the trade-in process. If you trade in a product covered by your plan directly to Apple, it is automatically taken out and replaced by the new device. Unlike AppleCare+, though, there doesn't appear to be a way to pay annually for your plan. Instead, it rolls monthly for as long as you need it, and Apple will let you move products in and out of coverage whenever you want. AppleCare One launches tomorrow in the US, and can be activated either on your iPhone, Mac or iPad, or in an Apple Store. Apple's new subscription can protect all your devices, but here's how much it will cost you
I've got a confession to make – please withhold judgement. I've never bothered buying AppleCare. It's not cheap, and I don't feel like I need it, with a track record of breaking zero iPhones. But for most, it's hard to ignore the peace of mind it brings when your iPhone slips out your hand and smashes into concrete. One of the biggest problems has been with multiple devices – the cost of AppleCare can quickly add up, and there's no way to add your existing devices. Or at least, there wasn't. Apple just launched AppleCare One. It's billed as a smarter, more scalable way to protect your devices. And you can finally add devices you already own – even if you've had them for a few years. But how much exactly will it cost? This new Apple subscription lets you cover up to three devices for a flat monthly fee of $20, regardless of what those devices are. That seems quite steep at first, but AppleCare for an iPhone 16 goes for around $10/£10 per month. You can add more devices for a few dollars each, including ones you already own – even if you bought them years ago. I've got older iPads still kicking around, so it's nice to see a plan that doesn't penalise you for holding onto your gear. The benefits are more than just cost savings. There's accidental damage cover, battery replacements, and now, even theft and loss protection for iPads and Apple Watches, not just iPhones. If you're the sort of person who upgrades often, AppleCare One automatically removes old devices from your plan when you trade them in through Apple, which removes another layer of admin. AppleCare One solves the problem of having multiple devices with inconsistent coverage and renewal dates. One subscription, one place to manage everything, and real support when things go wrong. AppleCare One is available from 24 July and costs $19.99. It's only available in the US so far, and each additional device is $5.99. You can sign-up via your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or in any Apple Store.
