Aquasplash awarded dementia friendly certification
AquaSplash Jersey have been awarded Dementia Friendly Business status, after a "significant programme" of is a waterpark and leisure centre, located at the Waterfront Centre in St scheme asks organisations to provide training for staff, as well as to make an ongoing pledge to maintain inclusivity and gain certification, the company has trained staff at all levels, reinstalled a Hearing Loop, identified quiet times for the public, and begun improving its signs. "Their dedication truly highlights the power of this initiative. "When businesses step up and embrace these practices, they're not just improving their service - they're actively shaping an island that's compassionate and inclusive for all those living with dementia."

Free swimming lessons for some Jersey children
Free swimming lessons are being offered to children in Jersey who may not have had the opportunity to have them Bosdet Foundation, in partnership with AquaSplash, said the scheme was aimed at children whose families may not have access to lessons due to financial constraints, limited access to facilities and time foundation, which has supported more than 50 children so far, said places on the programme were allocated through local primary schools and other Le Pavoux, charity manager for the Bosdet Foundation, said its expanded programme would now help more children learn the life skill. He said: "Bosdet has always supported children to learn to swim and understand water safety, from Bosdet's Swim Safe course aimed at all Year 5 pupils, to having provided free swimming to children when it ran a swim school at Les Ormes."With this new programme, we have been able to increase the opportunity for more children to engage."Children in Year 3 who have not reached level one of the national plan for swimming have also be given the opportunity to improve their skills with the new Dunford, contract manager at AquaSplash, added: "We're delighted to support the Bosdet Foundation as it expands a scheme that has already supported over 40 local children towards swimming proficiency and water confidence."

GALLERY: Kids try out new £135,000 Monikie aqua park
Local children have been the first to take the plunge at a new £135,000 Angus aqua park. On Friday, pupils from Monikie and Newbigging primary schools were the first to test out the giant inflatable at Monikie Country Park. The treat was their reward for helping Angus Alive name the Angus Aqua Splash facility. It is the first of its kind in the district. All ages will be able to enjoy slides, balance beams and climbing walls. There are also high platforms to jump into the Monikie water from and a monkey bars section. Angus Aqua Splash opens to the public on Saturday May 3. A 50-minute session costs £18.50. Group bookings of 10 or more will pay £16.50 per person. Bookings can be made at
