Saudi, Egyptian FMs Discuss Gaza Reconstruction Plan
The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, held discussions on the latest regional developments, most notably the Gaza reconstruction plan, according to Egypt's Foreign Ministry.
During a phone call, the two ministers exchanged views on regional issues of common concern, particularly the recent developments in the Gaza Strip.
In the light of this, they discussed the ongoing efforts to resume the ceasefire in Gaza and allow the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Strip amid the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
Furthermore, Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Abdelatty explored the next steps to implement the Arab-Islamic Plan for Early Recovery and Reconstruction in Gaza. This comes as Egypt plans to hold a conference for Gaza's early recovery and reconstruction as soon as a ceasefire agreement is reached.
Additionally, both foreign ministers discussed the importance of ensuring that Iran and Israel commit to the ceasefire deal. They stressed the need to uphold the ceasefire between the two sides and resume the diplomatic path to achieve a sustainable settlement regarding Iran's nuclear program, in a way that would contribute to de-escalation, reduce tensions, and achieve regional security and stability.
Moreover, the Saudi and Egyptian Foreign Ministers praised the profound relations and historic bonds between Saudi Arabia and Egypt, hailing the rapid development in their bilateral ties.
They also expressed aspirations to strengthen joint cooperation, in line with the directives of the Saudi and Egyptian leaderships, to deepen and enhance ties across all fields, for the benefit of the shared interests of the two brotherly peoples.
