Mawani Launches FRS1 Shipping Service at Jeddah Islamic Port to Strengthen Global Links
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has introduced CStar Line's new Far East-Red Sea service (FRS1) at Jeddah Islamic Port, reinforcing the port's role as a key strategic logistics hub on the Red Sea. This initiative is aimed at enhancing global connectivity, increasing operational efficiency, and expanding the port's maritime network. The FRS1 service links Jeddah Islamic Port with five key ports across Asia and the Middle East: Ningbo, Shanghai, and Nansha in China; Aqaba in Jordan; and Ain Sokhna in Egypt. The service has a carrying capacity of up to 2,000 TEUs. This addition supports Mawani's broader goals of improving Saudi Arabia's performance in global logistics rankings and driving national export growth. It also aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which seeks to position the Kingdom as a global logistics powerhouse connecting three continents. Mawani Enhances Saudi Ports with Launch of MSC Himalaya Express Service
The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has introduced the MSC Himalaya Express shipping service to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam and Jubail Commercial Port. This strategic development is designed to strengthen national exports and boost the global and regional competitiveness of both ports. The new service provides direct connections to 12 major regional and international destinations: Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi (UAE), Hamad Port (Qatar), Nhava Sheva, Mundra, and Vizhinjam (India), Sines (Portugal), Gioia Tauro and Genoa (Italy), and Valencia, Barcelona, and Malaga (Spain). It offers a significant capacity of up to 14,000 TEUs. This initiative supports Mawani's broader mission to improve the Kingdom's ranking in global logistics performance and enhance operational efficiency across its port network. UAE to remain a top travel destination through 2030
30 Apr 2025 00:12 MAYS IBRAHIM (DUBAI)The UAE is expected to remain among the top destinations for travel and tourism spending in the Middle East through 2030, according to new projections unveiled at the Arabian Travel Market 2024 in 2025 ATM Trends Report data presented by Dave Goodger, Managing Director for EMEA at Tourism Economics, shows that the UAE and Saudi Arabia are set to exceed $50 billion in total travel expenditure by the end of the decade. The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has introduced two new CMA CGM shipping services—India Red Sea Express (BIGEX3) and India Upper Gulf Express (BIGEX4)—at Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam. These additional infrastructures aim to strengthen maritime connectivity, boost trade, and support Saudi Arabia's import and export sector. BIGEX3 connects Jeddah Islamic Port with Nhava Sheva and Mundra in India, as well as Salalah in Oman, offering a total capacity of 2,633 TEUs. Meanwhile, BIGEX4 links King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam to Nhava Sheva and Mundra in India, and Umm Qasr in Iraq, with a total capacity of 3,527 TEUs. This expansion aligns with the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, reinforcing Saudi Arabia's position as a global logistics hub and a key trade link between three continents.
