MLA, Collector inaugurate swimming pool at Vinayaka Sagar

Tirupati: City MLA Arani Srinivasulu along with District Collector Dr S Venkateswar and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Narapureddy Mourya inaugurated the newly-built swimming pool in Vinayaka Sagar here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Arani Srinivasulu and District Collector Dr Venkateswar said the swimming pool was built as part of Vinayaka Sagar development under Smart City Project. The project also includes glow garden, commercial area, Children play area, walking track and also swimming pool. The swimming pool developed at a cost of Rs 3.30 cr was made available for Tirupati people. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister Nara Lokesh were committed to the development of Tirupati, they pointed out. They said the RO plant was also available for walkers. Glow garden works are going on and it would be available for another 20 days. Deputy Commissioner Amariah, Smart City GM Chandramouli, Superintendent Engineer Shyam Sunder and E E Ravi were present.

Vinayaka Sagar gets a facelift with swimming pool, jogging tracks

A swimming pool and a RO drinking water facility were inaugurated at Vinayaka Sagar located on Karakambadi Road in Tirupati on Tuesday. Vinayaka Sagar, which was once used to immerse Lord Ganesh idols during the Nimajjanam ceremony, has become a buzzing spot in the city after the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) stepped in to transform the neglected water body into a water front facility with greenery and jogging tracks. MLA Arani Srinivasulu, deputy Mayor R.C. Munikrishna, District Collector S. Venkateswar, MCT Commissioner N. Mourya and other leaders participated in the event. Mr. Srinivasulu termed the facility yet another milestone in the Coalition government's record and appealed to the public to make use of the facility. The MLA also participated in the 123rd birth anniversary of Tamil Nadu's former Chief Minister Kamaraj Nadar.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Global Reach Foundation, Tirupati MLA Arani Srinivasulu lauded the humanitarian services of the NGO to the victims of the recent cyclone in Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam. He praised its founder-chairman Ramesh Nath Lingutla for undertaking the service programmes. Film lyricist Suddala Ashok Teja, District Collector S. Venkateswar, TTD member Bhanu Prakash Reddy, TUDA chairman C. Divakar Reddy and other dignitaries also participated in the anniversary celebrations in Tirupati on Sunday. They lauded Dr. Ramesh Nath, who left his comfortable life in London and returned to his homeland to do his bit for the people. Appealing to everyone to help the poor under the P4 (Public, Private, People Partnership) programme, Dr. S. Venkateswar announced that he has adopted five families from Nakkala Colony. He urged the rich to adopt a family or a village here. He said that SST (Srinivasan Services Trust), the social arm of TVS Motor Company, has adopted 60 villages in the district. 'Our district is fortunate to have 131 mega industries. The industrialists were also been requested to do so. They are adopting some of the communities in their surrounding villages. Everyone should help the poor through the P4 programme. There are over 83,000 Bangaru Kutumbalu (golden families) in our district. So far, we have been able to tag only 5,000 people.'

Tirupati: Improving the service sector in a big way will boost Tirupati development, noted city MLA Arani Srinivasulu speaking at the constituency-level vision action plan here on Thursday. The vision action plan, as part of Swarnandhra 2047 was recently declared by Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu to focus on constituency-wise action plan to address local needs and achieve State's long-term development. The MLA said the poorest of the poor (Bangaru Kutumbalu), which were identified in the city, will be empowered through capacity building (skill development) to come out of poverty to reach zero poverty rate. In all, as many as 7,000 'bangaru families' were identified in the city to cover them under capacity building programme. In this connection, Arani Srinivasulu said the constituency development is linked with tourism development and accordingly, focus will be laid to develop Tirupati city as a place of temple tourism, eco-tourism and wedding destination to see Tirupati development on par with Vizag and Vijayawada cities. The new world class railway station is nearing completion while the construction of integrated bus stand will begin soon with the government invited tenders for taking up work, he said. Commissioner N Mourya, Deputy Mayor Mudra Narayana, Additional Commissioner Charan Tej Reddy, Deputy Commissioner Amaraiah, SE Syam Sundar, ME Gomati, Thulasi Kumar, Health Officer Dr Yuva Anvesh Reddy were present.

Tirupati: Yoga practice regularly helps to achieve not only physical fitness, but also mental health, stated city MLA Arani Srinivasulu. On Monday, he flagged off an awareness rally in the city. Addressing the gathering, the MLA said that the State government launched a month-long yoga awareness programme to promote yoga among the people in a big way. He urged people to make it daily practice for a healthy life and also spiritual solace. 'It is our responsibility to preserve yoga for the posterity, which was handed over to us by our ancestors,' he stated. Corporation Commissioner N Mourya said the corporation has taken up awareness programmes to promote yoga and also providing trainng in all the 50 divisions in the city. As many as 75,000 people were already registered for participate in the International Yoga Day to be observed on June 21. Yadav Corporation chairman Narasimha Yadav, Vooka Vijay Kumar, Rudrakoti Sadasivam, Deputy Mayor RC Munikrishna, Additional Commissioner Charan Tej Reddy, Deputy Commissioner Amaraiah, SE Syam Sundar, ME Thulasi Kumar, Gomati and others participated in the rally.
