Families pay tribute to two teenagers killed in 'heart-breaking' crash in Everton
Tributes have been paid to two teenagers who "lit up every room" after their deaths in a road crash which also left three others with serious injuries. Archie Ray, 19, and Ash Fisk, 18, died at the scene in the village of Everton, Bedfordshire, on Saturday afternoon. Three other people suffered serious injuries and are currently being treated in hospital. Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident involving a white Volvo C30 and blue Skoda which happened at around 2.40pm. Archie's family said: 'It is with overwhelming sadness that we share the passing of our much-loved son and deeply adored big brother, Archie Ray. 'Archie was a true 'Ray' of sunshine; he lit up every room with his smile and laughter. His energy was magnetic, his kindness endless, and his presence unforgettable. 'Archie brought people together with his caring heart and generous spirit. He was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 'Our hearts are shattered. He will be forever missed, endlessly loved, and always remembered for the light he brought into our lives.' Meanwhile, Ash's family said: 'It is with unimaginable sadness that we share the passing of our beloved son, Ash, who tragically lost his life in a car collision aged just 18. 'Ash was full of life, laughter, and kindness. He brought light into every room with his warm smile and cheeky humour. 'He was surrounded by many friends from all walks of life — from school, rugby, work and his social circles — all of whom were drawn to his generous spirit and infectious energy. Ash loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. 'He will be forever missed by his family, his partner, and the many friends who were lucky enough to know him. Our hearts are broken, but we hold tight to the memories of the joy he brought to all our lives." The families of the four people injured in the Volvo car ended their tributes saying: 'Coming together as four families, united in grief and love, we are so grateful for the strength and compassion of those around us. Your support means more than words can express.' Det Sgt Craig Wheeler said: 'This was a heart-breaking collision which has devastated the friends and families of Archie and Ash as well as the families of their two very close friends who suffered serious injuries from this collision." The driver of the Skoda suffered serious injuries which are not life-threatening. Police asked for anyone who saw either a white Volvo C30 or a blue Skoda Enyaq before the collision to contact them on 101.

Archie comics unveils Filipino-inspired cover featuring halo-halo
Archie Comics is launching a special Philippine-exclusive variant cover of Betty & Veronica, featuring the popular Filipino dessert halo-halo. The variant cover which is created by longtime Archie artist and writer Dan Parent was designed exclusively for SuperManila Comic Con 2025, which will take place on September 6 and 7 in Makati City. The cover pays tribute to Filipino culture by reimagining the classic 'three on a straw' scene. Instead of sharing a milkshake, Archie, Betty, and Veronica are seen enjoying a glass of halo-halo topped with ube ice cream and barquillos. The comic will also feature the debut of a new character, Medusa Doom, a green-skinned, mysterious villain described as mischievous. 'This collaboration is a dream come true for Filipino Archie fans,' said SuperManila Comic Con co-organizer Sandy Sansolis in a statement. 'We're incredibly proud to partner with Archie Comics to deliver something fun, unique, and a little mischievous with Medusa Doom's debut.' The variant will be available in two limited-edition, a trade dress version and a virgin variant, the latter showcasing Parent's full artwork without any cover text. Parent is also expected to attend the convention to meet fans and sign copies of the exclusive comic.

King Charles at 'blows' with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry again over grandchildren's future
King Charles is thought to be in another fall out with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex - other the pairs plans for their young children. King Charles is believed to be facing another rift with son Prince Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle - this time centered around Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The British monarch has been drawn into the latest controversy after it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have launched a battle to get new passports for their children, reportedly with an eye toward the possibility of them resuming working royal roles in the future as part of a potential return to the UK. However, the development has sparked backlash, especially given Meghan and Harry's high profile departure in 2020 and the several different public criticisms of the royal family since, the Mirror US reports. Harry and Meghan departed the UK for Montecito, California after stepping back from official royal duties in 2020. Since then the couple have launched commercial ventures, including several Netflix series - one titled Harry & Meghan which the couple stated: "We've never been allowed to tell our story... until now." Speaking to the Guardian, a friend of the royal couple claimed the move was for "when they [Archie and Lilibet] grow older, they can decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals or stay out of public life." Prince Archie is 6 years old and Princess Lilibet is 4 years old, while Archie was born in the UK at the time when Meghan and Harry were active royals, Lilibet was born in 2021 in Santa Barbara, California. Now after facing several complications during the process and waiting for the necessary approvals, it has been reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex believes the monarch is the source of the delay. However, Buckingham Palace refuted the claims with a statement that said: "King Charles, battling cancer and governing an entire monarchy, has better and more important matters to handle than meddling in passport applications." According to The Daily Mail, King Charles reportedly found the idea of Archie and Lilibet becoming working royals "incredulous and bemusing, to say the least," especially given Megan and Harry's decision to step away from royal duties back in 2020. It is also believed that Prince William, next in line for the throne, would also block any possibility of Archie or Lilibet assuming official roles within the royal family. A source close to the Prince of Wales reportedly told The Daily Beast's Tom Sykes: "William obviously isn't going to hire Archie and Lilibet. This is just trolling on the part of Harry and Meghan." Likewise, royal commentator Richard Eden also further reported in The Daily Mail: "From what I am told, the removal of Archie and Lilibet's HRHs could be part of a wider 'slimming down' of the Monarchy when William becomes King."

Meghan Markle Posts Gorgeous Photo of Daughter Lilibet—and It's Unlike Any Photo Meghan's Shared in Years
Today marks a milestone for King Charles's youngest grandchild, Princess Lilibet. The daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is turning four—and her parents shared a stunning photo to mark the occasion. In honor of Princess Lilibet's fourth birthday, Markle posted two images on her new-ish Instagram account, both black-and-white shots. The first image shows Markle and her daughter cuddling on what appears to be a boat (perhaps the same one from the Harry pic shared back in March?). The second looks to have been taken moments after Lilibet's birth. Markle captioned the post, "Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives - and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!" And while the image is certainly beautiful, something specific caught my eye: the young princess is facing the camera. Markle has shared a number of photos and videos of Lilibet (where her red hair is on display) and son Archie, 6, in recent months. But they all feature the kids facing away from the camera, a common theme among celebs. This is the first time in recent memory that Lilibet is facing the camera. And though her mouth and nose are covered by Markle's hand, we do get a look at her hair and her eyes. Three years ago, photographer Misan Harriman shared a birthday photo of Lili (above), where her full face is visible. The photo was captioned, "It was such a privilege to celebrate the 1st birthday of Lilibet with my family and hers! Joy and face painting all around." Sending Princess Lili all the birthday wishes!
