Taron Egerton gives hopeful update on Kingsman 3

Taron Egerton still thinks a third Kingsman movie will happen. Work on the next action/spy flick has been ongoing since the 2021 prequel The King's Man, though director Matthew Vaughn, 54, previously said the project had been slowed due to Egerton's busy schedule. Now, the 35-year-old actor - who portrayed Gary 'Eggsy' Unwin in 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service and its 2017 sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle - has insisted that he, Vaugn and Harry Hart actor Colin Firth are all still keen to make a third movie. When The Playlist asked Egerton about Vaughn's delay comments, he replied: 'Is that what he said? Yeah, he's so funny. 'He did call me on Friday night, actually. Yeah, look, we both want to do it. And I know Colin is open to doing it, too. 'I think the interesting thing will be figuring out whether we all see the same thing. I love Matthew. Matthew is like family to me. 'I really think there's a brilliant story to tell with the third Kingsman. And I still think it will happen.' Kingsman: The Secret Service - which also starred Mark Strong, Michael Caine and Samuel L. Jackson - follows a rebellious teen who is recruited into a secret spy organisation and trained to become a gentleman agent. As a tech billionaire plots global destruction, the rookie must rise to the challenge and stop him before it's too late. The film proved to be a critical and commercial hit when it debuted in 2014, bringing in $414.51 million at the box office on a production budget of $81 million. While the sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle wasn't as well-received by critics when it released in 2017, it was still a box office success - grossing $410.9 million against a production budget of $104 million. Egerton previously said he hoped the third Kingsman movie would be a 'fitting' conclusion to the spy franchise. He told Collider: '[Vaughn] has every intention of making it, and I have every intention of playing Eggsy one more time. That was always what I thought I was committed to doing. 'It's the role that made my name, I suppose, in a way, I just want it to be absolutely right if we do it again, and I want the story to do justice to the part that really changed my life. 'I want it to be a fitting ending. And I would, obviously, really hope that Colin would come back for at least a part of it, and who knows? We'll have to see, but we are planning to talk about it, actually, the next time we see one another, so who knows? Watch this space.' The Rocketman star suggested the Argylle filmmaker wanted to put the relationship between Eggsy and Harry to the test in the third movie. Egerton explained: 'Eggsy and Harry [will be in it], obviously. But it's the gang coming back together, and it's one of those moments that ... when we wrote the screenplay, it was very much about, okay, I saw how people loved the relationship of Eggsy and Harry. 'So we just came up with this thing, what could be the ultimate reason for them to either fall in love or to hate each other forever? So that's what this movie is all about is will they or won't they, let's just say.'

Apple's 'F1' has raked in $293 million at the box office. Here's how the movie ranks among its other releases.

The racing film, released in theaters on June 27, is a box office hit. It has grossed about $293 million worldwide so far, becoming Apple's highest-grossing film to date, according to data from IMDbPro's Box Office Mojo. Apple's strategy of hiring A-listers for high-budget films seemed to deliver with the movie, which starred Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. "F1" unseated director Ridley Scott's "Napoleon" from its place at the top of Apple's list of box office bangers. "F1" also got a boost from Imax, which said it generated 19% of the film's worldwide box-office total during its opening weekend. That was the fourth-highest share of global sales in a debut, behind "Dune," "Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol," and "Oppenheimer," an Imax spokesperson previously told Business Insider. Some of Apple's other star-studded wide releases haven't been as successful as "F1." "Fly Me to the Moon" and "Argylle" had underwhelming results despite featuring big names like Scarlett Johansson and Henry Cavill. Here's how "F1" measures up against other widely released Apple films at the box office, according to figures from Box Office Mojo. 4. 'Argylle' - $96 million "Sam Rockwell probably isn't anyone's idea of a suave secret agent, but that seems to be just the point for director Matthew Vaughn. He cast the 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' Oscar winner against type and let him rip with a witty, eminently watchable performance that lets him steal every scene he is in." — Pete Hammond, Deadline"Most of the other supporting players — especially Cena and Samuel L. Jackson as yet another shadowy covert operative — appear in just enough scenes to make you wish their roles were more than glorified bit parts." — Matt Singer, Screen Crush"The overstuffed cast leaves legends like Samuel L. Jackson and Bryan Cranston mostly yelling in empty rooms." — Ben Travis, Empire"One can almost see the actors itching for more." — Richard Lawson, Vanity Fair"You may go into 'Argylle' wondering, per the film's curiosity-baiting tagline, who is the real Agent Argylle? But you'll assuredly leave with a different question: Shouldn't such a colossal waste of talent and precious time be illegal?" — David Fear, Rolling Stone 2. 'Napoleon' - $221 million "Napoleon" is an action film released in 2023. It's based on Napoleon Bonaparte's life and rise to power and stars Joaquin Phoenix.

Bryce Dallas Howard has never seen Happy Days

Bryce Dallas Howard has "never watched an episode of Happy Days". The 44-year-old actress is the daughter of Ron Howard - the actor-turned-director who played Richie Cunningham in the hit TV sitcom between 1974 and 1980 - but Bryce admits that she's never watched a single episode of the show. In a new clip from Busy This Week - which has been shared with People - Bryce said: "I'm going to admit something, which is that I've never watched an episode of Happy Days." Busy Philipps, the host of Busy This Week, subsequently noted that Henry Winkler, who portrayed Arthur 'Fonzie' Fonzarelli on the sitcom, is also Bryce's godfather. The actress then replied: "I love him so much, and I love my dad so much, and I love all the Happy Days folks, and it would be so easy just to watch it, and I don't know why." Asked if Ron and Henry were aware that she hasn't watched the show, Bryce said: "Yeah, kind of." The movie star even suggested that her siblings - Paige, Jocelyn and Reed - haven't watched the hit sitcom, either. She said: "I kind of don't think they have. I don't think they have." Meanwhile, Bryce previously revealed that she "wasn't allowed" to act during her childhood. The Argylle star told People: "I think if I had the chance to act younger, I would've taken it. But I wasn't allowed to. "My parents were very firm on that boundary, that they were not going to support anyone who wanted to be a child actor." Bryce's parents were keen for her to find experience in other industries. She shared: "I started working as a waitress on the weekends at a deli, and it was fantastic. Because I was 14, I needed to get a waiver from my parents to be on a payroll, and honestly, I was like, 'This is great.'" Bryce eventually found her way to Hollywood - but she appreciates being given such a well-rounded life experience. The actress explained: "I'm really glad that they did that because when I did start acting, it took a while to make a living. To be able to be like, 'Oh, okay. I can actually support myself with this.'"

Apple's F1 laps its competition with a $144 million opening weekend

Apple's film studio finally has a successful summer blockbuster to its name with its latest sports drama flick starring Brad Pitt. F1 the Movie saw an opening weekend that earned $144 million globally and $55.6 million domestically, according to Comscore numbers. Apple Original Films' feature beat out other highly anticipated releases like the live-action remake, How to Train Your Dragon , and the third installment in the post-apocalyptic horror film series, 28 Years Later. The action-drama movie follows Pitt's character, Sonny Hayes, who's tapped to support an up-and-coming Formula One driver. With reports of the film costing up to $300 million to produce and market, F1 the Movie was a risky venture for Apple, considering the lackluster performances with its other films' opening weekends like Argylle and Fly Me to the Moon . However, Apple's film studio gamble paid off since the opening weekend numbers for F1 the Movie shattered its previous records and is projected to continue its momentum. Despite the early success, Apple may have inadvertently soured some of its users on the movie, thanks to shoving an advertisement for F1 the Movie into its Wallet app.

'You can always see it coming': Bryce Dallas Howard on her box office failures with Argylle, The Lady in the Water

Washington DC [US], June 12 (ANI): Bryce Dallas Howard has been one of the most successful actors and directors of Hollywood, who is known for his work in the Jurassic World franchise and Star Wars series like 'The Mandalorian'. The filmmaker opened up about her painstaking box office failures like 'Argylle' and 'The Lady in the Water' and said that she was not shocked by its poor business as she "saw it coming", reported Variety. In an interview with 'The Independent', as quoted by Variety, the actress said, "You can always see it coming while you're making it. I've never been shocked when something doesn't work. But I'm just an actor - you're there to serve a director's vision. If a movie doesn't turn out the way that you envisioned, you can barely feel disappointed because it's not yours. You're not the person who's building the thing." Howard said she has seen her father, the Oscar-winning filmmaker Ron Howard, break down emotionally when one of his films doesn't do well, adding: "It blows him away that I don't do that," as quoted by Variety. As per the outlet, when Ron's 1992 romance "Far and Away" with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman bombed at the box office, for instance, Howard remembered her father turning to Clint Eastwood for advice on how to cope with movie failures. "He said, 'Ronnie - a career is like a season of television. You've got 24 episodes, some of the episodes are going to be bad, some are going to be serviceable, maybe a little forgettable, and maybe five of those episodes are going to be really strong and last," added Howard. As per Variety, Bryce Dallas Howard suffered one of her biggest flops last year with 'Argylle,' the 200 million USD star-studded spy comedy from 'Kingsman' filmmaker Matthew Vaughn. Howard headlined the tentpole as a spy novelist who gets pulled into a real-life espionage mission.
