Chappell Roan Lets Down Her Hair for Rapunzel-Coded Video Shoot in New York City: See Photos

Chappell Roan is going from Midwest Princess to Princess Rapunzel. As captured in photos and videos snapped on the streets of New York City this week, the pop star — who headlined Primavera Sound in Barcelona last month — is currently working on a mystery video project in which she'll appear with yards of extra hair. In pictures taken Monday, she filmed scenes while standing on a fire escape, draping her super-long red tresses over the railing to the ground below. It's unclear what exactly the Missouri native is working on, but fans online are convinced that it's a music video for 'The Subway,' an unreleased song that Roan debuted more than a year ago at 2024's Gov Ball festival. She has since played it a number of times at her live performances. The singer last dropped music in March, with the country-tinged single 'The Giver' debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It marked her first release since skyrocketing to fame (and a best new artist Grammy win) with breakthrough single 'Good Luck, Babe!,' which followed her 2023 debut LP The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess. Army, Trump ready June 14th birthday parade with tanks, rocket launchers

June 7 (UPI) -- The U.S. Army celebrates its 250th birthday on June 14th in the nation's capital, which coincides with President Donald Trump's 79th birthday, and will be marked by a parade that may include tanks, rocket launchers and more than 100 military vehicles. With the two birthdays occurring on the same day, the previously scheduled parade that was intended as a relatively small event at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., has grown in size and cost. Up to 300 soldiers and civilians, the U.S. Army Band and four cannons were initially slated to honor the Army's 250th birthday, with seating available for 120 attendees, The Washington Post reported. U.S. Army leaders last year sought a permit for the event, but Trump's election victory has changed its scope, while doubling as an unofficial celebration of the president's birthday. Axios reported the parade will live up to Trump's request for a showcase the U.S. miliatary's might, with dozens of tanks, rocket launchers, missiles and more than 100 other military aircraft and vehicles participating. About 6,600 Army troops will participate, and the Army is paying to house them in area hotels. The parade route has been moved to the northwest portion of Constitution Avenue and will include a flyover of F-22 fighter jets, World War II planes and Vietnam-era aircraft. The event is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. EDT at 23rd Street and continue along Constitution Avenue N.W. to 15th Street. Trump will review the parade on the Ellipse. The event has an estimated cost of nearly $45 million, including more than $10 million for road repairs after the heavy military equipment passes over. The parade's estimated cost has Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker, R-Miss., skeptical about its benefits. "I would have recommended against the parade," Wicker told an interviewer on Thursday, but the Department of Defense wants to use it as a recruiting tool. "On the other hand, [Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth] feels that it will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for thousands of young Americans to see what a great opportunity it is to participate in a great military force," Wicker said. "So, we'll see."

Ahead of MONSTA X's 10th anniversary, member Hyungwon is to be discharged from mandatory military service on May 13

MONSTA X 's Hyungwon , who had enlisted in the military's Army Band, is all set to be officially discharged today, on May 13. The idol enlisted in November 2023 and will be released after completing one year and six months in military service. Hyungwon to return ahead of the group's anniversary MONSTA X's Hyungwon is going to be returning from his mandatory military service today on May 13, ahead of the group's official 10th anniversary event, according to Allkpop. What makes his discharge even more special is the fact that he is leaving the military only a day before the group's anniversary, which fortunately falls on May 14. Fans are looking forward to the official reunion of all six members as well. MONSTA X all set to launch digital album for 10th anniversary The group, to commemorate and celebrate their 10th anniversary, will be releasing a digital album titled ' NOW PROJECT vol.1 '. The album is said to contain around 10 tracks in total. It will include both title songs and B-side tracks in the album. It consists of music that MONSTA X has released as a group between the years 2021 and 2023 so far. The album is going to feature new song versions that include the vocals and raps from all six present members of the group. The album is being released to mark a new beginning for the group and also for celebrating the auspicious event with Monbebes (MONSTA X fans). All of the songs are being rereleased, and a new version is being shared with the public in order to showcase every member's talent, especially due to the fact that, due to scheduling conflicts and military service, many songs have some or the other member completely missing from the track. Hyungwon is also the fifth member to complete his military service after Shownu, Minhyuk, Jooheon, and Kihyun, while their maknae (youngest member), I.M., is yet to start his service in the military. President Trump and first lady Melania Trump hold White House Egg Roll: 'Easter is special'

WASHINGTON – A time-honored White House tradition has taken place once again in celebration of Easter as President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump invited Americans to the White House Egg Roll on Monday. Over 30,000 visitors were reported to be walking through the grounds. Held on the South Lawn, this year's festivities include the beloved egg roll, a Be Best Military Card Writing Station, Be Best Hop Scotch, and the Reading Nook. There were also different activities, such as flower bouquet building, egg and cookie decorating, kicking soccer balls, running through tunnels, and various patriotic and festive photo opportunities. President Trump and first lady Melania Trump opened up the occasion by speaking from the South Portico along with an Easter bunny. Donald Trump Jr., one of the president's sons, followed not far behind with Bettina Anderson and his five children — Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe. "A very happy Easter to everyone," said the president. "It was a beautiful day yesterday, and it's a beautiful day today. We don't have to worry about sunburn, but it looks like it's not going to be raining." "Easter is special. And it's one of our favorite days," he added. "It's one of our favorite periods of time. We're honoring Jesus Christ. And, we're going to honor Jesus Christ very powerfully throughout our lives, all throughout our lives. Not just now — all throughout our lives." He added, "We're bringing religion back in America." Trump and the first lady then proceeded to kick off the Egg Roll, both blowing whistles as children pounced to begin rolling the eggs. President Trump also poked fun while standing alongside the Easter bunny, recalling previous egg rolls. "When the bunny took Joe Biden out… He's not taking Trump out. That was a good, beautiful moment when the bunny saved Joe Biden's life," joked the president in a lighter moment. The president and first lady then moved to an area where children were coloring Easter-themed pictures. "I'm really into this," remarked the president as he enjoyed the happy event. Music was played by The United States Marine Band, Army Band, Army Old Guard Fife & Drum Corps, Navy Band, and Air Force Band. A stage further down the South Lawn featured popular child performer "Go with YoYo." The first lady then read the book "Bunny with a Big Heart" by Marilyn Sadler, sharing lessons on friendship and kindness. On Good Friday, the first lady shared well wishes to Americans while also expressing gratitude for her staff. "I extend my gratitude to the dedicated East Wing Staff for their tireless effort in preparing the upcoming White House Easter Egg Roll," she wrote. Attendees are selected through an online lottery that ended on March 10. Each year, the children who attend receive souvenir wooden eggs as a commemorative piece to take home.
