Texas Stars Re-Sign Artem Shlaine To One-Year Deal
The Texas Stars have signed forward Artem Shlaine to a one-year extension, it was announced earlier this week.
A product of Moskva, Russia, Shlaine split time this season between Arizona State (NCAA) and the Stars. While he collected an assist in six AHL games, Shlaine scored 17 goals and added 21 assists for 38 points in 31 games for the Sun Devils.
Before joining Texas at the end of last season, Shlaine spent five seasons in the NCAA with Arizona State, Connecticut and Northern Michigan. Over that span, he scored 46 goals and added 73 assists for 119 points in 155 career games.
With Shlaine staying put with the Stars, he will have a strong opportunity to spend the entire year in the AHL. Having proven himself to be a dominant collegiate player, Shlaine has the skills needed to play in all situations for his team.
