"Fully prepared for all 243 seats," says LJP (RV) MP Arun Bharti on upcoming Bihar Assembly elections
New Delhi [India], July 9 (ANI): Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Arun Bharti said the party is fully ready to contest all 243 seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. He added that they aim to win every seat they contest and will also support their allies to win where the LJP(RV) does not field candidates. Speaking to ANI on Tuesday, Arun Bhati said, 'LJP(RV) is fully prepared for all 243 seats for the Bihar Vidhan Sabha elections. Wherever we contest, we will do so strongly. Wherever we don't contest, but our allies do, we will make every effort to help them win. We would want our strike rate to be 100 per cent and the same for our allies. In 2005, 29 of our MLAs won. In the upcoming Bihar elections, I am confident that we will cross this number of 29.' Bharti said that the Election Commission has full authority to conduct the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar. He said the opposition's criticism is unnecessary and added that steps to prevent fake voting and protect the rights of real voters should be welcomed. 'Election Commission is an autonomous body. Congress, too, made SIR take place from time to time. The voices of opposition rising right now were not needed at all, I think. This is the prerogative of the Election Commission. Only the Election Commission decides when it wants to do this. If fake voting is taking place in the name of voters who died, or if voters are coming from outside to snatch away the rights of real voters, it should be welcomed if it is being done away with,' Bharti said. The Bihar elections are expected to be held later this year, in October or November; however, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not yet announced the exact dates. While the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) seeks to retain power, the INDIA bloc, comprising the RJD and Congress, aims to oust it. Jan Suraaj, led by Prashant Kishor, is also seeking the people's mandate. (ANI)

Chirag Paswan camp calls Nitish Kumar's caste survey a betrayal of Dalits, tribals
Union Minister Chirag Paswan's party MP and brother-in-law, Arun Bharti, has hit out at the caste survey, which was conducted by the Nitish Kumar-led Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar in 2023, calling it a fraud and conspiracy against the marginalised section of the society including Dalits and Adivasis."Caste survey in the Mahagathbandhan government was a fraud and a well-planned conspiracy to keep the Bahujan community deprived of their rights", Arun Bharti Bharti, raised questions on the caste survey conducted by the Mahagathbandhan government and slammed then-Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav for using the entire exercise to strengthen the Rashtriya Janata Dal's (RJD) vote bank of Muslims and Yadavs. "Tejashwi Yadav was the one who made the most noise about the caste survey and had claimed it would be a revolutionary step towards social justice, but what happened was just a half-baked caste survey wrapped in political cleverness in which there was neither social justice nor inclusive thinking. It was only to strengthen the claim to the chair by highlighting the number of its M-Y vote bank", Bharti Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) [LJP(R)] MP added that the caste survey only counted the number of castes but did not provide details regarding which caste was how poor, which caste had access to education and which not, what is the share of various castes in government services and who has what rights over the land and survey was a well-planned conspiracy to keep the Muslim and Yadav vote bank in power and administration. The survey was direct deceit against the Dalit, Mahadalit and tribal communities. The real objective was to convert the number of castes into a vote bank and strengthen their claim to power and not to give opportunities and rights to the deprived class", he the recently notified proposed caste census by the central government, he said Chirag Paswan played a decisive role in the government getting approval for the actual caste census to take place, in which the idea was not only to collect numbers, but also to get details regarding the educational, economic and administrative roles of different castes."Now not just numbers, but complete social and economic details will be recorded. The condition of the Bahujan community will be presented with evidence in the constitution, policy and the court so that they can get a constitution and equitable reservation. The data collected will become a solid foundation for expanding reservations and policymaking in favour of the Bahujan community", Arun Bharti said.- Ends

Assembly polls: LJP (RV) gears up for all 243 seats
1 2 Patna: Days after Union minister Chirag Paswan announced his decision to contest the upcoming Bihar assembly elections , his party, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), on Thursday declared it has begun large-scale poll preparations for all 243 seats in the state. The decision was taken during the state working committee meeting chaired by state president Raju Tiwari and attended by the party's Bihar in charge, Arun Bharti, who is also Chirag's brother-in-law. The LJP last made a significant impact in the Feb-March 2005 assembly elections when it won 29 seats after contesting 178. It played the role of "kingmaker" but chose not to support either the RJD-led alliance or the NDA under Nitish, which eventually led to President's Rule. Six months later, the NDA formed the govt following the by-elections. Thursday's meeting, attended by MPs Arun Bharti, Veena Devi, Shambhavi Choudhary, parliamentary board chairman Hulas Pandey and national general secretary Satyanand Sharma, passed eight proposals. What stood out was the party's declaration of preparing for all seats in the 2025 elections. "The party unanimously passes the proposal that, in line with the public statement of its national president Chirag Paswan, it will prepare with full strength and enthusiasm for all 243 assembly seats for the upcoming assembly elections," the resolution said. The party also announced it will hold a 'Bahujan-Bhim Sankalp Samagam' on June 29 at Rajgir in Nalanda, the home district of CM Nitish Kumar. Chirag will address the rally. "The meeting is aimed at strengthening constitutional rights and social justice and increasing political awareness among the deprived classes," the party said. "It will serve as both a platform for organisational expansion and worker empowerment and a strategic move ahead of the upcoming elections," it added. The meeting voiced serious concern over the "rising crimes" against dalits and criticised the state administration. It also expressed alarm over the cancellation of MGNREGA job cards without prior notice, which it said had pushed many dalits, OBCs and deprived communities into a survival crisis. Chirag Paswan may contest Bihar Assembly elections, hints LJP MP
In a significant political development ahead of the Bihar Assembly polls, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MP Arun Bharti has hinted that Union Minister and his party chief Chirag Paswan is preparing to re-enter Bihar's state politics and is likely to contest the elections. Bharti, the MP from the Jamui constituency, is Paswan's brother-in-law and hinted about the strategic shift in a detailed post on the social media platform X. Arun Bharti emphasised that Chirag Paswan's political focus has always been Bihar, citing the party chief's long-standing slogan "Bihar First, Bihari First". According to Bharti, Chirag's active leadership in the state is essential for realising the vision of a developed and self-reliant Bihar. 'This is possible only when he himself stays in Bihar and leads,' Bharti wrote. Arun Bharti, who has been touring the state as a party in-charge, claimed that during his visits to villages and districts, a common sentiment emerged among workers and citizens -- a demand for Chirag Paswan to contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Notably, a unanimous resolution was recently passed in the LJP (Ram Vilas) executive meeting, urging Chirag to take the electoral plunge and lead from the front. In a crucial political message, Arun Bharti indicated that Chirag Paswan should contest from a general seat instead of a reserved constituency, underscoring a shift in his political positioning. "This time, Chirag should contest not from a reserved seat, but from a general seat - to send the message that he is prepared to lead not just one class but the entire state,' he added. The social media post positions Chirag Paswan not just as a party leader, but as 'the hope of all of Bihar', aiming to redefine the politics of social justice, not only through representation but also by fighting for broader societal acceptance. "When the leader is of the whole of Bihar, why should the scope of the seat be limited?" Bharti wrote. If Chirag Paswan decides to contest the Assembly polls, especially from a general seat, it would mark a major shift in the state's political landscape.
