Woman in her 70s killed in collision between car and truck in Co Meath

A WOMAN IN her 70s has died following a collision between a car and a truck this morning in Co Meath. The collision occurred near Drogheda at Platin Terrace shortly after 10.30am. The driver of the car, a woman in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has since been removed to the mortuary at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan. The accident happened at Platin Terrace shortly after 10.30am this morning, Thursday July 3, and woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body has since been removed to the mortuary at Our Lady's Hospital in Navan. There were no other injuries reported. Gardaí and emergency services are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision near Drogheda and the road is closed to facilitate a technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10:00am and 11:00am this morning Thursday 3rd July 2025 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
