Forget Prime Day — I review running shoes for a living, and my favorite Asics sneaker is still on sale

I test running shoes for a living, so it's rare that I get a chance to revisit old shoes. Yet despite the influx of new shoes through my door each week, some remain firm favorites, and one of these pairs is the Asics Novablast 4, which is currently on sale for $99 on Amazon. That's the lowest price in 30 days, and a saving of nearly 30%! The shoes are a fantastic, comfortable everyday running shoe, with a great amount of versatility. This shoe can pick up the pace when you need it to, and has a decent amount of responsiveness underfoot. Plus, for less than $100, now is a great time to buy. The Novablast 4 is on sale in several different sizes and colors right now on Amazon. You'll need to cycle through the different options to find the best deal in your size. The men's Asics Novablast 4 is also discounted to $99 right now. If you're looking to buy one running shoe that'll cope with all of the different runs on your training plan, the Asics Novablast 4 is a good place to start. It's bouncy and lively enough to help you pick up the pace on your tempo runs and speed sessions, while still being cushioned and comfortable on long runs and easy days. I've run over 100 miles in this shoe, and it's still one I reach for when I'm heading out for a long run. I've run over 100 miles in this shoe, and it's still one I reach for when I'm heading out for a long run. The shoe has Asics' FlyteFoam Blast+ foam in the midsole, and while it doesn't have the same sink-in comfort as shoes like the Asics Gel Cumulus 27, this isn't a bad thing. It's bouncy, responsive, and the slightly firmer midsole gives the shoe a lot more versatility. The shoe has since been replaced with the Asics Novablast 5, but don't let this deter you. Asics didn't change much between the two models, so you're better off saving money right now and buying the Novablast 4. I definitely would! On the design front, the shoe looks amazing, and right now it's discounted in a bunch of different colors to suit every style. The shoe dropped to $99 in the Amazon Prime Day sales, and it's amazing that it's stayed at this all-time low!

Time is running out! — 7 Prime Day running shoe deals worth sprinting for from Nike, Asics, Merrell and more

Amazon Prime Day ain't over yet. In fact, you can score a pair of super-fresh, TG staff-approved running sneakers for as low as $48 right now, but you'll need to be quick. This isn't a marathon, but rather a sprint. The best bargain is on Merrell Morphlite Trail Shoes for 52% off, bringing the cost down to under $50. That's not all: The ultra-cushioned and breathable Nike Invincible 3 is reduced by 39% and Asics Novablast 4 shoes are just $99. As always, find direct links and details on these deals and more below. Of all the high-tech sneakers we've tested, the Merrell Morphlite is the best value trail running shoe available today, especially when it's more than 50% off. Why? In our review, we found it light, comfy, responsive, and durable. What more could you ask for? This deal is nothing short of ludicrous. No, not the rapper, though I'm sure he'd find this pair of high-tech and eye-catching dragon-themed running sneakers fly enough for his feet. At nearly 60% off, you can too, without breaking a Benjamin. I prefer trail running to sidewalk and street running, and of all the brands I've tested while trekking through the Northwest Cascade Mountains, Merrell makes what I'd consider to be the best non-hiking-boot footwear, including the Agility Peak 5. However, if you have a little more cash, go for the Gore-Tex version (the bottom deal on the page) instead. The Asics Novablast 4 is a well-cushioned daily trainer, perfect for everything from weekly runs to gym outings to trips to the grocery store. Choose from a solid selection of styles, including this loud but fun lime green color option. You don't need to be a rebel, nor must you lack a "cause" to take advantage of this 29% off deal on one of our favorite versatile and stable sneaker options for daily runners. The New Balance FuelCell Rebel V4 checks all the boxes when it comes to a high-performing running shoe; it also doesn't look half bad. I'm pretty sure these are the Dunks Superman would rock if he were a run-club-joining, sneaker-head-type. You want maximum cushion? You got maximum cushioning! Also important: the Nike Invincible 3 sneakers are seriously fly; choose from a wide selection of discounted styles, including my favorite option, shown here. These have been my go-to sneakers for the past 12-plus months, whether I'm exploring the streets of rainy Seattle, Washington, hitting the mountain trails just outside of city limits, or getting on a plane to check out somewhere new, these grippy, comfortable, breathable and waterproof shoes have yet to let me down.

Last chance! We review running shoes for a living, and our favorite Asics sneakers just crashed in price during Prime Day sales

Prime Day ends tonight, but there's still just enough time to steal some incredible deals on our top-rated pairs of Asics sneakers. You'll need to move fast, though. Despite how many shoes we get the privilege of testing at Tom's Guide, it's safe to say we all have our firm favorites, and some Asics running shoes remain top of the pile. Right now, some of our top picks are still on sale, and you can pick them up for much less while stocks last. For example, the Asics Novablast 4 is my colleague's pick, and it's on sale for $99 on Amazon with this Prime Day discount. That's the lowest price they've been in over a month! Refresh your wardrobe and save your hard earned cash with our recommendations below. The Novablast 4 is on sale! Cycle through the different options to find the best deal in your size. My colleague runs marathons pretty much for a living, and it's one of her favorite pairs of Asics shoes. The men's Asics Novablast 4 is also discounted to $99 right now. The Gel Venture 10 is a waterproof trail running shoe that comes in 11 different color options and is Amazon's #1 bestseller. We price-checked against Asics, and although they are running a sale, this is the lowest price available. Although a fairly modest discount, this shoe is currently at its lowest price in 30 days. It's regarded as a comfy and versatile sneaker that suits neutral runners in particular. We're huge fans of the Gel Kayano 31 at TG. A generous slice of cushioning in the midsole and rearfoot PureGEL technology for a softer, bouncier ride. What's not to love? The Gel Cumulus 26 isn't the latest in the Gel Cumulus range, thanks to the Gel Cumulus 27, but this is a handsome deal to snap up if you don't care about having the latest shoe. It also saves you a lot of money, given that we only rated the 27 with 3 stars, and this one is far more worth the money. I personally love and still run in the Gel Nimbus range, and a 31% saving on the Gel Nimbus 26 is an absolute steal. Plenty of lightweight cushioning and a breathable upper make this the perfect shoe for longer miles, in my opinion. Not fussed about the 26? I've had this running shoe for a few years, and I still trot out the 10Ks in them. They're so breathable and comfortable, and I feel like I'm basically running on teeny tiny puffy clouds. Plus, I quite like the slightly garish bold color pops. We're running our Amazon Prime Day live blog until the end of the sale, so be sure to check that out for last minute savings. Make sure to check out what freebies you can get this Prime Day before it's too late!

I'm a marathoner who tests running gear for a living — these are the 15 Prime Day deals for runners I'd shop from $9

It's a great time to be a runner. Summer is here, and the days are longer and warmer, and if you need any new kit to help you get out there and run, the deals are coming thick and fast thanks to Amazon Prime Day. I've been testing and reviewing running shoes, watches, and all manner of other kit for the last decade, during which time I've also run 15 marathons using my favorite gear. Whenever a big sales event comes around, I always look for deals on my favorite gear, and I've picked out 15 of the best Prime Day deals for runners available right now below. The New Balance Rebel v4 is an exceptionally lightweight daily trainer that has enough cushioning and stability to be comfortable for your longest runs. The Rebel v5 recently launched, but having tested both the v4 and v5, I'd happily go for the older shoe given this discount. The Asics Novablast 4 is a max-cushioned daily trainer that provides a comfortable and smooth ride. It's perfect for new runners who need one shoe for everything, or for adding to a rotation to soak up your easy miles. I've tested the newer Asics Novablast 5, and it's not a major upgrade on the 4, so this deal is worth grabbing if you're picking between the two. Several colors of the Hoka Mach 6 are reduced in the Hoka sale right now, with one color of the men's shoe hitting $97. The Mach 6 is one of my favorite all-rounder running shoes, being cushioned enough for easy runs while also being lightweight and energetic enough for fast ones. I find you can never have too many running caps, and this lightweight number from Adidas will be a great addition to your collection if you snap it up at this reduced price. A variety of Balega's comfortable and durable running socks are reduced in the Prime Day sales, including some no-show socks if you prefer that style. I prefer to cover my ankle myself, and love the design of these light blue crew socks. Nike's own sale has a lot of great deals for runners right now, if you've struck out on Amazon itself. This lightweight running t-shirt wicks sweat and will keep you cool and comfortable on your runs. Garmin isn't the only game in town when it comes to running watches, and the Suunto Race S is a great value alternative even at full price, so to get it for just $279 in the sales is a big win. It's an AMOLED watch with accurate dual-band GPS tracking and offline maps. The Forerunner 955 is an older watch and you never have to pay full price for it anymore, but this discount brings it down to its lowest ever price. It still has top-notch sports tracking, training analysis and navigation features, and given the high price of the latest top Garmin watches like the Forerunner 970, this deals offers a lot of value. Since being superseded by the Garmin Fenix 8, the Fenix 7 Pro series has been a regular in sales, but this $400 saving on the largest 7X model in the range is a huge discount worth considering if you need a rugged adventure watch with incredible battery life to track your activities. This deal brings the 51mm model of the Epix Pro AMOLED sports watch down to its lowest ever price. It's a watch I wore myself for a year, and it never let me down when training for and running marathons. The screen is an upgrade on the Fenix 7 Pro's memory-in-pixel display, and the 10-day battery life is still impressive on the 51mm Epix Pro. I recently reviewed the JBL Endurance Race 2, and I found it great value at its full price of $79, so getting a $20 discount on that price is a bonus. They're in-ear buds with wings that offer a secure fit on the run, and good sound quality and battery life as well. The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 are the best bone conduction headphones available for runners, offering significantly better sound quality than you typically get with open headphones. The whole Shokz range is reduced in the Prime Day sales so you can find cheaper options like the OpenRun 2, but the OpenRun Pro 2 are worth the extra outlay if you can afford them. All four colors of the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 are reduced to their lowest ever price on Amazon right now. They offer a comfortable and very secure fit for sports thanks to the earhook design. They also have long battery life and button controls you can use even with sweaty or gloved hands, plus great sound quality and ANC. I use these high-salt tabs in the morning before every marathon I run, and regularly throughout the hotter months. You need the sodium they contain to replace what you lose in sweat on the run, so you can stay hydrated. This is the highest dose of sodium available in a tablet in Precision Fuel & Hydration's range, so it's great for those who sweat more than average or have especially salty sweat. Mix this powder with water to create your own high-carb energy drink. I've tried a lot of different sports drinks and Tailwind's taste the best, especially the special edition Dauwaltermelon flavor, which is inspired by ultramarathon superstar Courtney Dauwalter.

My job is to run marathons — here's the 7 pairs of running shoes I'd buy this Prime Day

My job is to test running shoes, so I know exactly what I'm looking for when Prime Day rolls around. No, it's not the cheapest shoes on the market — forget what Amazon tells you, these often have lacklustre midsole foams, and just won't last you as long. Instead, it's usually last season's shoes that make the best deals. Running shoe brands tweak some of their most popular shoes each year to refresh them and keep you spending (kind of like Apple with iPhones). Sometimes these changes are worth shouting about, but more often than not, they are minor, making last season's pair cheaper while still being just as good. To save you scrolling, I've hand-picked the best running shoes on sale right now: Best for: Easy runs, long runs, fans of On! The On Cloudmonster 2 is a cushioned, everyday running shoe, that looks fantastic. It's a heavily cushioned daily trainer, so the aim is to protect your legs from regular impact, especially over longer distances. For $180, it's probably a bit too expensive, but at $135, it's worth buying. It's on sale in several different colorways from On directly. Not sure? Read our On Cloudmonster 2 review here. Shop the men's On Cloudmonster 2 at On for $135 Best for: beginners The Ghost 16 is one of Brooks' best-selling running shoes, and for good reason — it's seriously cushioned and comfortable, and is a fantastic running shoe for easy miles and long runs. The Brooks Ghost has a cult following, thanks to its comfort and cushioning, and the 16 is our favorite version yet. It's the first to feature Brooks' nitrogen-infused DNA Loft v3 midsole foam, and as a result, it's a major upgrade on the Ghost 15. It's a reliable daily trainer that's perfect for beginners. Read our Brooks Ghost 16 review here to find out more. Shop the men's Brooks Ghost 16 for $99 on Amazon right now Best for: those looking for a comfortable all-rounder If you're looking to buy one running shoe that'll cope with all of the different runs on your training plan, the Asics Novablast 4 is a good place to start. It's bouncy and lively enough to help you pick up the pace on your tempo runs and speed sessions, while still being cushioned and comfortable on long runs and easy days. It's bouncy, responsive, and the slightly firmer midsole gives the shoe a lot more versatility. Shop the men's Asics Novablast 4 for $99 at Amazon here. Best for: daily runs, long distance This one is slightly more unusual, as it's Nike's current model, so you're getting a good deal! The Pegasus 41 is Nike's popular daily trainer, and the 41st version of the shoe is probably my favorite yet. The new ReactX midsole and higher stack on the Pegasus 41 gives it a softer ride that its predecessors, but it's not so squishy underfoot as to be unstable in any way. It's a balanced midsole that is comfortable for easy and long runs, but has a little bounce to it when you want to up the pace. Read our full Nike Pegasus 41 review here to find out more. Shop the men's Pegasus 41 on sale for $119 at Amazon. Best for: speed sessions and long runs I've been reviewing running shoes for the past decade, and was impressed with the FuelCell Rebel V4, which I used as my tempo and long run shoe when marathon training. You don't want to wear your carbon fibre running shoes too much ahead of race day, as they typically have a shorter shelf life than most running shoes, so these are a good alternative. The shoe is bouncy and responsive underfoot, and copes well with slower miles, as well as faster sessions. Shop the women's New Balance FuelCell Rebel V4 for $87 at Amazon. Best for: those looking to spend less than $60 I know what you're thinking, wait — Skechers make running shoes? But they do, and these are a pair of comfortable, max-cushioned shoes, best suited to easy miles and long runs. They are hailed as cheaper dupes for the Hoka Clifton 9 trainers, without the price tag. Best suited to beginners, or runners looking for a plush shoe to wear for easy miles and long walks, these are a decent option, and for less than $60, now is a good time to buy. Read our Skechers Max Cushioning Elite 2.0 review here. Best for: runners looking for a max-cushioned shoe Last, but by no means least, the Nike Invincible 3. It's my favorite Nike running shoe of all time, and it's been discontinued, so now is a great time to buy if you're looking for a super comfortable, max-cushioned running shoe. The magic in the Invincible 3 lies in the midsole foam. It has Nike's premium ZoomX foam, which you'd normally find in its faster carbon fibre racing shoes. Here, however, instead of propelling the foot forward, the bouncy, responsive foam reduces the impact of each step for a more comfortable run. Read our Nike Invincible 3 review to find out more. The men's Nike Invincible 3 is also on sale at Nike.
