JSW MG Motor India to hike price of cars from this date: Here's by how much

The latest price revision will take effect from July 1, 2025, and will apply to select models. However, the company has not yet specified which models will be affected by the hike. According to the company, the upcoming price adjustment is a response to rising input costs and wider macroeconomic challenges impacting the automotive sector. The company explained that the revision is essential to partly absorb the increased expenses in manufacturing and supply chain operations. This marks its second upward revision in less than seven months. The last increase was implemented in December 2024, when prices across the lineup were raised by up to 3 per cent. MG currently offers a mix of ICE and electric vehicles, including the Astor, Hector, and Gloster, along with the Comet EV, ZS EV, and the recently introduced Windsor EV. As mentioned previously, the manufacturer has not yet disclosed which specific models will be subject to the latest price adjustment. Recently, JSW MG Motor India also announced a significant price revision across the entire ZS EV lineup, coinciding with the brand's sixth anniversary in the country. With this move, the electric SUV is now more accessible, starting at Rs 16.75 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Executive variant. All four trims in the ZS EV range have received price cuts. The most substantial drop is seen in the top-end Essence variant, which is now priced at Rs 20.49 lakh — a reduction of Rs 4.44 lakh. The Exclusive Plus version has been revised to Rs 19.49 lakh, down by Rs 4.15 lakh. The Excite Pro trim sees a price cut of Rs 48,000, bringing its new price to Rs 18.49 lakh. Meanwhile, the entry-level Executive variant has become Rs 13,000 more affordable, now starting at Rs 16.75 lakh (ex-showroom). Discover everything about the automotive world at Times of India .

MG Motor India to increase prices across model range from July 1: All details

JSW MG Motor India has confirmed a price increase of up to 1.5 per cent across its entire vehicle portfolio, effective from 1 July 2025. The adjustment will apply to all models currently on sale, including the Comet EV, Windsor EV, ZS EV, Astor, Hector, and the flagship Gloster. The company attributed the upcoming revision to escalating input costs and broader macroeconomic pressures. In a statement, MG Motor India said the price hike aims to 'mitigate the impact of rising input costs and other macroeconomic factors,' suggesting that the brand is grappling with growing expenses that are now being partially passed on to consumers. This announcement comes shortly after a notable price cut for the MG ZS EV, which saw a reduction of up to ₹ 4.44 lakh. Despite that, the ZS EV remains MG's most expensive electric model, with prices beginning at ₹ 13 lakh (ex-showroom). The current MG range opens with the Comet EV, priced from ₹ 4.99 lakh, followed by the Windsor EV at ₹ 10 lakh. Among the brand's petrol offerings, the Astor starts at ₹ 11.30 lakh, the Hector at ₹ 17.5 lakh, and the top-of-the-line Gloster from ₹ 41.07 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). MG Motor continues to strengthen its foothold in the Indian EV market by offering the innovative Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which separates the battery cost from the vehicle's price. This approach helps reduce the initial purchase cost for electric vehicle buyers, making EV ownership more accessible. Looking ahead, MG Motor is preparing to enter the luxury segment with a host of new offerings. The company has announced the launch of the M9 Limousine next month, marking its foray into the high-end vehicle category. Later in the year, MG will also introduce the Cyberster, an electric convertible sports car aimed at driving performance-oriented innovation within its EV line-up. Both premium models will be retailed through a newly introduced dealership network, MG Select, designed to deliver a more exclusive customer experience. Additionally, the automaker previewed the Majestor. I could be a luxury SUV concept based on the Gloster. The Majestor is expected to join the line-up in the coming months, signalling MG's intent to broaden its premium offerings in the Indian market.

Beacon to acquire Astor Investment Management with $1bn assets

US-based Beacon Capital Management (Beacon) is acquiring Astor Investment Management (Astor), an investment firm managing approximately $1bn in assets. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. This acquisition is expected to close in August 2025. Beacon said the deal strengthens its presence in the risk-managed investment space, adding separately managed accounts (SMAs), unified managed accounts (UMAs), and mutual funds to its platform. The deal also brings Chicago-based Astor's macroeconomic, rules-based risk approach to Beacon's existing suite of data-driven strategies, expanding portfolio construction capabilities for financial advisors and their clients. Beacon Capital Management president Emily Damman said: 'This acquisition is consistent with our ongoing mission to provide financial advisors with sophisticated, diversified investment solutions. 'We continue to evolve our offerings based on the input we directly receive from our trusted advisors. Their perspectives shape our strategic priorities as we invest in building long-term value across every level of the business.' As part of the deal, Jan Eckstein, chief investment officer at Astor, will take on the role of assistant vice president of portfolio design at Beacon. In this capacity, she will contribute to aligning the two firms' rules-based investment frameworks and play a role in developing new portfolio strategies. Eckstein is also set to join Beacon's investment committee, where she will serve alongside Astor CEO Bryan Novak. Novak added: 'We are excited to join forces with Beacon, whose advisor-centric approach and data-driven philosophy closely align with our own. This partnership allows us to continue delivering on our investment philosophy while offering clients and advisors access to even broader resources and support.' Beacon said the acquisition will provide its advisors with access to additional data-driven strategies, diversifying holdings and risk management approaches. The inclusion of macroeconomic, trend-based risk signals will offer a new layer of diversification, creating a smoother client experience across various market environments, it added. Meanwhile, Astor advisors are anticipated to benefit from expanded resources, including enhanced marketing, practice management, sales support, and investment communications, reflecting Beacon's advisor-centric model. Beacon, based in Dayton, Ohio, is a registered investment advisor with over $4bn in assets under management across more than 25,000 client accounts. "Beacon to acquire Astor Investment Management with $1bn assets " was originally created and published by Private Banker International, a GlobalData owned brand. 10 of the best family-friendly spa hotels in Europe

Elegant, historic and grand, the former home of Lord and Lady Astor feels in parts like a British Versailles – not exactly the kind of place you'd imagine welcomes toddlers with open arms. But Cliveden knows how to keep little ones busy, letting them roam the 152 hectares of grounds, wearing down their energy on walking trails, maze wanders and boat trips along the Thames. Exhausted parents can take turns hiding in the OSKIA spa, where following a swim in the Grade II-listed pool they can collapse onto a warmed water bed for the new Deep Sleep treatment, combining slumber-inducing mists, oils and balms with magnesium and melatonin. Pair it with a zen-inducing sound bath at your peril; you'll emerge so relaxed you won't give a fig what the kiddos get up to among the period furnishings.

JSW MG Motor India has introduced the MY2025 Astor, claiming that it is now the only 1.5-litre mid-size SUV to offer both a 10-inch infotainment screen and a panoramic sunroof within a price range of Rs 12.5 lakh. It is to be noted that the Astor is the flag-bearer of the brand in its segment and competes against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and others. The prices of MY2025 Astor start at Rs 11.30 lakh (ex-showroom) and offer VTi-TECH engine options along with 1.5-litre manual and CVT automatic transmissions. The refreshed model introduces two additional variants, Shine and Select, in addition to the current trims. The vehicle claims to be the only automatic SUV with a 1.5-litre engine priced under Rs 15 lakh that includes wireless charging, which is found in the Sharp Pro variant. Furthermore, the Astor provides heated outside rearview mirrors, a feature the company highlights as a first in its segment among internal combustion engine vehicles. In terms of safety, the vehicle includes more than 50 systems and 14 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. It is equipped with ventilated front seats, wireless compatibility for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror, and the i-SMART 2.0 connectivity system offering over 80 connected features. The Jio Voice Recognition system enables voice commands for various functions, including weather updates, cricket scores, calculator use, and news. All of this will help the SUV improve its position in the market. Compared to its rivals, the model has been receiving relatively low sales numbers, as the segment is dominated by the Hyundai Creta.
