Parliament Monsoon Session: Opposition demands two-day discussion on Pahalgam, Operation Sindoor in Rajya Sabha

The Opposition on Wednesday (July 23, 2025) put forth their demand for holding a debate on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor in the Rajya Sabha from next week and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's presence be ensured. The demand was put forth during the first meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Rajya Sabha during the Monsoon Session of Parliament. The meeting was attended by leaders of various parties and Leader of the House J.P. Nadda, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. The BAC meeting was chaired by Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh. This is the first time that the meeting of BAC is being held, after the same was rescheduled since Monday (July 21, 2025). On Monday (July 21, 2025) evening, the first day of the Monsoon Session, Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from the post of Vice-President, leading to further postponement of the meeting. "The Business Advisory Committee meeting of the Rajya Sabha was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman Harivansh. The entire opposition demanded that the discussion on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor be taken up starting next week. 'The two-day discussion for 16 hours should be taken up a day after the same started in Lok Sabha,' Congress's deputy leader in Rajya Sabha Pramod Tiwari told reporters after the meeting. He also said the Opposition wanted no resolution should be brought up during the debate on Operation Sindoor/Pahalgam attack and a normal discussion spanning two days should be held. Govt Agrees to Debate on Operation Sindoor & Pahalgam Terror Attack "We have demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should be present during the discussion, and we have been assured that by the government," he also claimed. "I am hopeful that the prime minister will be present during the debate on Operation Sindoor," Mr. Tiwari said. Both Houses of Parliament have witnessed repeated adjournments amid uproar by Opposition members over the issue of the Pahalgam attack, Bihar's Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and other issues.

Kay Kay Menon's ‘Special Ops 2' web-series review: Neeraj Pandey gets his groove and grit back in a gripping sequel

Every time the nation is in jeopardy, there's only one man that can save the day. The spy universe by YRF thrives on this trope, so why should Pandey shy away read more Cast: Kay Kay Menon, Prakash Raj, Vinay Pathak, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Shikha Talsania, Saiyami Kher, Muzammil Ibrahim Director: Neeraj Pandey and Shivam Nair Language: Hindi Can Artificial Intelligence be as dangerous and disastrous as a terrorist attack? The second season of Special Ops by Neeraj Pandey attempts to answer this question. This time, Himmat Singh (Kay Kay Menon) and his squad have to battle cyber terrorism. There is a particular scene in the Series where Aarif Zakaria shows us and the world how dangerous artificial intelligence can be. And the next moment, his life is in danger. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD It's impossible not to be swayed by the star cast, but one must point out how there's an essence of been there, done that. Prakash Raj reminds us of Attack, that John Abraham movie that also dealt with terrorism. Tahir Raj Bhasin brings back memories of his terrific turn as the creepy and charismatic nemesis of Rani Mukerji in Mardaani, again about the forces of our country. There's something else that's common in films or shows of this nature. Every time the nation is in jeopardy, there's only one man who can save the day for the people. The spy universe by Yash Raj Films thrives on this trope, so why should Pandey shy away from milking this mass formula that hinges on masala? After all, he gave one of the better spy films in the form of Baby a decade ago. And apart from Kabir Khan, if there is one filmmaker, who knows how to create swanky and sweeping shots in his repertoire, it's this man. Both Khan and Pandey either coincidentally or carefully select stories that brim with globetrotting thrills. Special OPs 2 has evolved as compared to the last season that came five years back. The review began with the mention of AI, which all of a sudden took over the internet. It has made things both accessible and alarming. Is fake the new real? This is the question this technological boom raises. But the series also knows how to keep the cliches intact but in good ways. So, a phone conversation between the villain and the hero is a must. And there has to be a dialogue about patriotism. And Menon, as always, shines in a role that fits perfectly with his tenacity. I don't think there's any actor who mouths the C word as fluently and fascinatingly as Menon, first in Black Friday and now in Special Ops 2. And it's always good to see Vinay Pathak in anything he does. What's also striking about the show is the colourful outfits Tahir Bhasin flaunts, reminding you of the perennially iconic Ajit Khan. Neeraj Pandey lost track with his last experiment. With this, he almost gets his groove back. That's truly Special! Koenigsegg Has Run Out Of Cars To Sell

When the Jesko twins were offered to customers, Koenigsegg made an already exclusive hypercar even more special by forcing buyers to choose between the Attack and the Absolut. You couldn't order both. So when Christian decided to celebrate and effectively send off the Jesko with one last hurrah in the Sadair's Spear, it was no surprise to learn that all 30 units were sold out long before the general public even knew of its existence. But according to company founder and CEO Christian von Koenigsegg, who spoke with Top Gear, absolutely everything you've ever seen with a Koenigsegg badge is sold out: "All our models are presently sold out, we have nothing to sell, which is kind of good, but also annoying because it's fun to interact and supply enthusiasts with their dreams come true." So what's next? "We would love to have more, but we will introduce something new in one, one and a half years, then we'll open up the order books again," Christian continued. "The something new we are working on - and we have several projects - are very limited runs, which means they all need to be different, and they all need to have meaning." As a company always on the cutting edge of innovation, it makes sense for Koenigsegg to keep volumes low and technologies new, but even then, one's fingers can be burned. The Gemera was announced in 2020, just as the world went into lockdown, and at the time, it was meant to feature an innovative hybrid system that would see a 2.0-liter three-cylinder engine with camless Freevalve technology paired with two turbos, a dry sump, and a trio of electric motors. All of this was because a V8 couldn't fit. But by the time 2023 arrived, Koenigsegg had found a way to cram a V8 engine in the Gemera anyway, and in 2024, the three-cylinder option was canceled due to a low take rate. Finally, in November last year, it was reported that the Gemera was sold out. That arc suggests that Koenigsegg couldn't sell a small hybrid, even one as impressive as that. The Gemera needed a big V8. Related: Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear Gallery: The Craziest Koenigsegg In Pictures As Christian von Koenigsegg has indicated on numerous occasions, there simply isn't much "appetite" for hyper EVs. Thus, it's entirely possible that Koenigsegg might use its Dark Matter e-motor to give a combustion-powered Jesko replacement even more power and traction, but electricity will never be the sole source of propulsion. Bugatti-Rimac CEO Mate Rimac has even suggested that the Nevera's successor might not be all-electric, and that's arguably the most incredible EV on the planet. "After a while, you want to feel something, you want to talk to the beast, you want to have a dialog," von Koenigsegg told TG. "You want the throbbing, the pumping, the heat, the sounds, the shifts, all of these aspects that just make a car come alive." With the CC850 showing that a hypercar can be both relaxing and engaging in the transmission department, and the Sadair's Spear once again highlighting that tire technology is holding the world's hypercar manufacturers back to some degree, guessing what comes next is all but impossible. But we know it'll be good. Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

‘I can't think of anyone who deserved this less': Holocaust survivor among Boulder attack victims

DENVER (KDVR) — A University of Denver educator is sharing more about one of the victims in Sunday's attack in Boulder of Israeli hostage supporters, a Holocaust survivor. The woman in her 80s, is one of the now 15 victims injured in Sunday's attack in which a man is alleged to have firebombed a group from Run for Their Lives demonstrating peacefully advocating for the release of the hostages in Gaza. Boulder Terror Attack: Continuing coverage Director of the Center for Judaic Studies at DU, Adam Rovner spoke with FOX31's Carly Moore and said he personally knows the woman and actually uses her story to educate students about the Holocaust. Rovner said he called her after hearing about the attack, knowing she would be at the demonstration, and she was on her way to the hospital. 'So, she was obviously very flustered but was also extremely lucid. We're talking about a woman in her, you know, late 80s,' Rovner said. 'Her main response was not fear, but anger, anger that we've reached this stage in American discourse where people can violently attack others merely because they have a different view.' He said the woman and her family fled antisemitism in Hungary and jumped from country to country, until eventually ending up in Boulder in 2005. He calls her a passionate advocate for immigration and education. 'She's a very humane, understanding person of other people's perspectives and the fact that she was firebombed by an idealistic, self-righteous lunatic is, obviously, very upsetting,' said Rovner. 'So, she is an interfaith, multilingual, and cosmopolitan, lovely woman, and I can't think of anyone who deserved this less.' Boulder County Courthouse lit blue for Jewish victims, against antisemitism Rovner said now is not the time to hide who you are, he encourages people to continue to stand up for what they believe, though he said he is grief-stricken by the attack. 'As an academic, I can tell you that what we're doing is we are raising money to hire an endowed chair in Holocaust and Antisemitism Studies. I think that it's very important to reframe Holocaust education,' Rovner said. 'So, we need to take a new tack and the approach that is leading the innovation in education now is to go back and look at the history of antisemitism, look at contemporary antisemitism, and try to explain contemporary manifestations and historical lead ups to the Holocaust, to try to connect what happened then and there with here and now.'
