The southern French club stated on its official website: "Olympique de Marseille is proud to announce the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabonese international striker signed his contract with the club this afternoon." Aubameyang (34 years old) began his career at AC Milan's youth academy and has played for clubs such as Dijon, Lille, Monaco, Saint-Étienne, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Chelsea. Marseille have completed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a free transfer. The former Arsenal and Chelsea forward terminated his contract at Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah earlier this month, leaving him able to join another club as a free agent. This will be Aubameyang's second spell with Marseille, having scored 30 goals in 51 appearances across all competitions in 2023-24. Advertisement Aubameyang joined newly-promoted Al Qadsiah on a two-year deal in July 2024, and scored 21 goals in 36 games last season. The 36-year-old began his senior career at AC Milan in 2008 and had loan spells at Dijon, Lille and Monaco before signing for Saint-Etienne in 2011. He spent 18 months with the French club, scoring 41 goals in 97 games before joining Borussia Dortmund in July 2013. He scored 98 Bundesliga goals across five seasons at Dortmund, earning a move to Arsenal reported to be worth £56million in 2018. The Gabonese forward spent four-and-a-half seasons in north London, scoring 22 goals in the Premier League in both 2018-19 and the following season, but left the club by mutual consent in February 2022, shortly after being stripped of the captaincy by head coach Mikel Arteta.
