Heilongjiang Tourism Conference To Highlight Regional Connectivity, High-tech Innovation
KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 (Bernama) -- The Seventh Tourism Industry Development Conference in Heilongjiang is set to open on July 2 in Fuyuan, a county-level city under Jiamusi's jurisdiction and widely known as the 'East Pole of China'.
This year's conference adopts the theme 'Creating New Momentum for Integration, Sharing New Opportunities in Tourism' and marks the first time the event is being held in a county-level city— a strategic move that underscores Fuyuan's growing prominence as a key frontier for China's opening-up to Northeast Asia.
The two-day event will feature a variety of activities aimed at fostering public engagement and industry collaboration, including a regional tourism promotion forum, cultural performances such as a mini Wurigong festival, and a cycling event designed to highlight Fuyuan's natural and geographic appeal.
Heilongjiang Department of Culture and Tourism Deputy Director-General, Jiang Xingcheng in a statement, outlined four main highlights of the upcoming conference.
Hosting the event in Fuyuan is seen as a strategic move to stimulate local tourism and demonstrate how smaller cities can leverage tourism for economic revitalisation.
The conference is also expected to enhance international cooperation, with delegates from nearly 20 countries and regions—including those in Northeast and Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East—gathering to explore new opportunities in tourism and cross-border trade.
Another focus of the event is fostering integration between tourism and other sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, commerce, sports, and trade, in an effort to generate diversified and sustainable economic growth.
In addition, the use of cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and metaverse applications will be showcased as part of a broader push to modernise the tourism industry and support high-quality development.
To capitalise on growing visitor interest, Fuyuan has partnered with leading domestic and international travel agencies to launch a series of bespoke tour packages, including 'Auspicious Sunrise', 'Two Countries, One Heixiazi Island', and 'Two Rivers and Two Cities'.
