Christopher Bell spins from lead during NASCAR Dover race
This story was updated with new information. Christopher Bell spun in the final stage of the NASCAR Dover race. On Lap 260 of the July 20 Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400, Bell spun from the lead after winning the second stage of the race. Bell was scored in the lead when caution flew on Lap 337 for rain. Bell was running the middle line with Chase Elliott on the inside going into Turn 3. The two did not make contact but Bell spun through the corner. The entire field was able to avoid Bell, who drove through the pit lane. With no one hitting Bell, he is able to continue but had to pit for new tires. He was scored in 22nd place after the spin, the final car on the lead lap before Justin Haley was given the free pass. Chase Elliott won the first stage at Dover and continues to lead. NASCAR is running at Las Vegas Motor Speedway starting March 14 with a total of three NASCAR national series running at the 1.5-mile speedway. What is the Daytona 500 pace car? Chevrolet Blazer EV SS, first electric vehicle for race
Chevrolet is showing off its latest innovation in front of the biggest day of NASCAR racing. The Chevy Blazer EV SS will be the first electric vehicle leading the Daytona 500 to the green flag and it's the 16th time the manufacturer has been the pace car for the Daytona 500. The "SS" stands for "Super Sport", it's a high-performance trim package that Chevrolet has to offer. The SS package has distinct markings on cars. Sunday's pace car, the Blazer EV SS, is an all-wheel drive car with up to 615 horsepower and a 0-to-60 speed of 3.4 seconds. To reach that power, the car must be in the "Wide Open Watts" mode, a new mode from Chevrolet that unlocks the car's full power.
