Former Austrian Chancellor Kurz Acquitted of Perjury on Appeal
An Austrian appeals court acquitted former Chancellor Sebastian Kurz of perjury, clearing one legal obstacle for the once high-flying political prodigy who has pivoted to build a career in international finance.
The judges at the Vienna Higher Regional Court who heard his appeal said Kurz answered parliamentary questions correctly as chancellor in 2020, the Austrian Press Agency reported from the courtroom on Monday.
