THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS TV Spot Puts Family First and Teases Franklin Richards' Superpowers — GeekTyrant
Marvel Studios is leaning hard into the family vibe with its newest TV spot for The Fantastic Four: First Steps . The short promo shifts the spotlight from cosmic threats to something far more personal… Reed Richards and Sue Storm are expecting a baby. While we do get flashes of superhero spectacle, the promo's biggest question doesn't involve fighting Galactus, it's whether or not the baby will have powers. As you know, Franklin Richards isn't just some toddler. In the comics, he's a cosmic powerhouse capable of rewriting reality and creating entire universes. He's basically a god in OshKosh B'gosh. And according to rumors, Franklin's powers are going to be a major factor in the film. Some insiders even claim that Galactus has plans for the child that haven't been fully revealed yet. Then there's Doctor Doom, who could use powers like that, and the character is likely being set up for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars . Vanessa Kirby, who plays Sue Storm, recently spoke about what drew her to the role. 'I've always been really interested in the mess of femininity, and how can you be both? How can you be all the things? 'Not just the tough, invincible, powerful woman, but also a mother who gives birth, which is itself a superhero act. I love that these characters are real humans in a messy family who argue and try to work it out and get things wrong.' Watch the new TV spot fo r The Fantastic Four: First Steps below and get ready to meet the MCU's next game-changer… still in diapers. The movie is set to be released in theaters on July 25, 2025.

MCU's Kevin Feige Turned Down Offer to Run DC After Justice League
had an opportunity to run DC Studios before James Gunn and Peter Safran were hired. In 2022, Gunn and Safran were hired as co-chairpersons and co-CEOs of DC Studios by Warner Bros. Discovery's David Zaslav. The two of them have since launched the DCU, a shared universe featuring fan-favorite DC characters like Superman. According to The Wall Street Journal, Warner executives met with Kevin Feige 'to try to convince him to switch sides' not long after the release of 2017's Justice League. The talks, however, 'fizzled.' Feige still works for Marvel Studios, which will be putting out a new movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, later this month. After that comes Avengers: Doomsday, which is currently in production and will be released in December 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars in December 2027. In regards to television, the next MCU show will be the animated Eyes of Wakanda series, which arrives in August. Other forthcoming shows that Feige is involved with include Marvel Zombies, Wonder Man, and Vision Quest. The DCU, meanwhile, began in December 2024 with Creatures Commandos. The next entry is Superman, which is now playing in United States theaters and IMAX. That movie is written and directed by Gunn and stars David Corenswet as the titular superhero, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and more. After Superman, the DCU continues in August 2025 with Peacemaker Season 2. Craig Gillespie's Supergirl has a June 26, 2026, release date, while James Watkins' Clayface movie has been dated for September 11, 2026. The Lanterns television show starring Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre is also expected to arrive at some point in 2026, while other announced DCU movies include The Authority, The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman, and more.

Movie Tea: Nicholas Hoult Addresses Kelsey Grammer's Return As Beast; Script For 'Batman II' Finally Complete
We are once again delving into the world of superheroes, as rumblings from both Marvel and DC are shaking things up! Here's what you need to know to keep yourself up to date on upcoming movies out of Hollywood. Nicholas Hoult Opens Up About Kelsey Grammer's Return in 'Avengers: Doomsday' Ever since the announcement of 'Avengers: Doomsday', alongside the cast reveal, many have been absolutely hyped for the cinematic event. Not only did it confirm the return of the most familiar faces in the current MCU, but it also confirmed the return of many actors from the Fox Marvel movies! One of those returning Fox faces is none other than Kelsey Grammer, who is largely known for his depiction of Beast in the 'X-Men' series back in the early 2000s. He is, of course, joined by other legends of his era, such as Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart. Naturally, many of the more recent actors of the same legendary characters, such as James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender, have taken a step back to watch the OGs do their thing, but one of them decided to give a piece of their mind about this move and it's none other than Nicholas Hoult, the most recent actor for Beast. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor discussed the news of Grammer returning to his role of Beast. In it, he fully confirmed that he will not be returning at all for Phase 6 of the MCU. He then added that he is 'excited' to see Kelsey don the blue make-up. 'Kelsey was a great Beast,' said Nicholas Hoult. 'He was the Beast I saw when I was a kid, along with the other actors that they're bringing back, Patrick and Ian and James and all them. Those were the characters that I got to watch in X-Men movies. I'm excited to see what they do with it. It'll be fun to see how they incorporate those characters into that world.' Though it is saddening to know that Hoult will not be returning to the MCU anytime soon, it is quite understandable as to why. There's no denying that names such as James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, and Alan Cumming have a more potent nostalgia factor when it comes to older fans and have a greater legacy compared to the 'X-Men' prequel stars. It is also worth mentioning that the series' last film, 'Dark Phoenix', ended with more of a whimper rather than a triumphant roar before Fox was ultimately acquired by Disney, ending the series entirely. However, hope is not lost yet, as Hoult has yet to have any discussion with Marvel. Though the possibility of him returning is unlikely, it is not impossible. Remember: as grand as 'Avengers: Doomsday' is, it is still a precursor to 'Avengers: Secret Wars', and Disney is simply keeping the prequel stars as an ace in their back pockets. Matt Reeves & Mattson Tomlin Complete 'The Batman: Part II' Script After almost three and a half years, Matt Reeves has finally completed the script for Robert Pattinson's 'The Batman'. Yes, it is quite hard to believe after so many delays and pushbacks, but it is real this time. And the proof can be found in Matt Reeves' official X post, where he and co-writer Mattson Tomlin can be seen in the background with the completed script taking centre stage. Of course, even though the script has been officially penned, we still have no info about what it contains. Naturally, coming out fresh from the oven, the two writers have not yet decided or locked in on any other new casting that we might see for this upcoming sequel. Pair this up with the release of James Gunn's 'Superman' being just around the corner, and we can't help but feel or hope for a potential crossover event between these two DC titans! Of course, we still need to see how things shake out before we start daydreaming about any collaboration movies. We'll get to see the Caped Crusader swing into cinemas again on 1st October, 2027.
