Avetta Enhances Safety Manual Audit Capabilities to Provide Deeper Visibility and Richer Insights
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Avetta ®, the leading provider of supply chain risk management (SCRM) software, today announced significant enhancements to the safety manual audit capabilities available within its innovative Avetta One platform. The new features make it easy for hiring clients to gain even deeper visibility into and richer insights about their contractors' and suppliers' safety compliance. The news was revealed at the North America Avetta Summit Series event taking place June 16-18 in Nashville, Tennessee. Avetta's safety manual audits are comprehensive, expert evaluations of contractors' and suppliers' safety policies and procedures to identify gaps that could create substantial risk for hiring clients. Now, optimizations to the Client View dashboard and a new analytics tool called Audit Insights help hiring clients maximize the value of these audits by providing greater transparency into the audit performance of individual contractors and suppliers as well as identifying and analyzing audit trends across contractor and supplier networks, respectively. 'We're committed to constantly delivering new, powerful product capabilities that help our customers go beyond compliance and build truly safe, secure and sustainable supply chains,' said Dawn Andre, Chief Product Officer at Avetta. 'We've designed these new dashboards and insights to provide instant depth of visibility into the individual safety programs being audited—including their status, presence of risk and time to completion—rather than just a binary pass/fail outcome. This empowers hiring clients with stronger intelligence to identify specific safety risks in their supply chains earlier. We're enabling the opportunity for our clients to take decisive action proactively and drive stronger safety outcomes across the board.' Client View optimizations Optimizations to the Client View experience provide detailed insights into the who, when and why of individual audits. They highlight where a contractor or supplier encountered challenges in the audit process, identify critical safety risks associated with rejected topics and provide a comparative analysis of contractor and supplier audit completion times. With this enhanced visibility into audit workflow status and identified safety gaps, hiring clients can take proactive steps to improve contractor and supplier safety compliance and performance. Audit Insights Audit Insights provides analytics that enable easy identification and analysis of audit trends across entire contractor and supplier networks. It allows health and safety officers, site operations managers, project managers and procurement managers to track open audits, analyze rejection patterns and identify areas requiring additional training or corrective actions. This tool empowers hiring clients to improve the overall audit process and optimize identifying and implementing data-backed safety metrics. Other news In addition, Avetta revealed SMI Insights, a new way to analyze Avetta Safety Maturity Index (SMI) scores in detail. Launched in 2024 and informed by National Safety Council best practices, the SMI equips organizations to identify risk earlier, strengthen safety systems and reduce the likelihood of serious injuries and fatalities more effectively. SMI Insights enables hiring clients to drill down into categories where contractors and suppliers struggle most, review individual question responses to get a granular view of contractor and supplier capabilities, filter by score and flag status to decide where to investigate further. Avetta Report Investigates Rise in Workplace Fatalities and Safety Drivers that Protect Lives
New insights show significant life-saving impact from compliance, safety audits and long-term safety engagement LEHI, Utah & HOUSTON, May 28, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Avetta®, the leading provider of supply chain risk management (SCRM) software, today announced the inaugural Avetta Insights and Impact Report. The study is a deep dive into the systemic drivers behind fatal workplace incidents based on real-world data from the company's extensive client and supplier network. It also identifies evidence-based strategies that meaningfully reduce fatality rates across the supply chain. According to the National Safety Council (NSC), 5,283 workers died on the job in 2023, amounting to 14 families per day facing the loss of a loved one due to a preventable tragedy. Beyond the human toll, the economic impact of workplace deaths in 2023 reached $7.7 billion, according to an Avetta estimate based on NSC data. "Our commitment to safer, smarter supply chains is unwavering—we believe even a single workplace death is one too many," said Arshad Matin, president, CEO and board member at Avetta. "This report demonstrates the tremendous value of using data, predictive technologies and innovation to prevent fatalities on the job." Key insights from the report: Suppliers that were fully compliant with established safety standards saw a 62% lower fatality rate than non-compliant suppliers (1.19 vs. 3.12), emphasizing the crucial role of prequalification and compliance processes. Suppliers that underwent more than three years of regular safety manual audits experienced a 15% improvement in fatality rates (0.45 vs. 0.53), demonstrating the importance of ongoing evaluation. Organizations involved in Avetta's safety programs for more than 10 years had a 45% lower fatality rate than those with only 2-3 years of involvement (2.04 vs. 3.7), proving that consistent, long-term investment in safety pays off. "While injury rates have steadily declined over the past decade, fatality rates remain unacceptably high," Matin added. "Reversing this trend demands a long-term commitment to proactive, data-driven safety practices, going beyond compliance to build true resilience. We're proud to be at the center of a community of businesses dedicated to raising the standard of safety by focusing on continuously improving." With innovative technology, services and support—and through strategic partnerships with organizations like the NSC and American Society of Safety Professionals—Avetta leads the industry in creating safe, secure and sustainable supply chains. The Avetta Safety Maturity Index, launched in 2024 and informed by NSC best practices, equips organizations to identify risk earlier, strengthen safety systems and reduce the likelihood of serious injuries and fatalities more effectively. As a leading nonprofit safety advocate in America for over 110 years, NSC's mission is to eliminate the leading causes of preventable death and injury, with core focus in the workplace and on roadways. "At the National Safety Council, we know every single workplace fatality is preventable," said Mark Chung, executive vice president of Safety Leadership and Advocacy at the NSC. "Research like the Avetta Insights and Impact Report, combined with data-driven solutions such as the NSC Consultative Safety Journey and the Avetta Safety Maturity Index, empower organizations to take meaningful, proactive steps toward eliminating injuries and saving lives."
