KlasJet secures IATA membership after demonstrating global safety standards
25th June 2025: A premium private jet charter company KlasJet, part of the world's largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider Avia Solutions Group, has joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as an official member. This membership proves that the company meets the highest global aviation safety, quality, and operational management standards, establishing KlasJet among world-class private airlines and strengthening its reputation with clients, regulators, and business partners. To become an IATA member, KlasJet had to meet several mandatory requirements, including passing the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA). Conducted by accredited IATA auditors, this audit examined the airline's flight operations, technical maintenance systems, passenger and baggage handling, risk management and other critical areas of operations. 'Joining IATA is a significant milestone for our airline,' says Indre Liveikyte, Compliance Monitoring Manager at KlasJet. 'It is a quality and safety mark recognized by airports, regulatory institutions, and business partners worldwide. This membership demonstrates that KlasJet is not only a safe and reliable company, but also an innovative, world-class player ready to operate in a competitive, strictly regulated environment.' KlasJet employs a structured and continuously improving management system, encompassing regular internal audits and inspections, periodic mandatory employee training, and operational process reviews. All levels – from flight operations to ground services and training centers – function as an integrated system that helps the company not only respond to but proactively manage compliance issues. According to Liveikyte, KlasJet understands that IATA standards compliance is not a one-time project but an ongoing commitment: 'Our Compliance and Safety departments actively collaborate with other divisions to ensure that safety is integrated into every operational decision, not just treated as a formal procedure. We have already set a date for the IOSA registration renewal audit, as well as for internal audits to verify consistent compliance. We strive to implement compliance daily through control, training, and clear accountability.' As an official IATA member, KlasJet plans to actively use key IATA resources and tools to strengthen its competencies and efficiency. These include IATA-offered employee training, the IOSA Standards System, statistics and analytical data, and IATA Safety Connect platforms for sharing safety insights with other airlines and accessing current industry best practices. According to Liveikyte, achieving IATA membership is ultimately a reflection of the KlasJet team's extraordinary commitment and daily dedication: 'Operating as both an ACMI carrier and VIP charter operator means our teams must seamlessly navigate two very different operational worlds, and this requires our people to consistently go that extra step. Our employees demonstrate great commitment to excellence, shared pursuit of our common goals, and strong focus on safety and professionalism. IATA membership acknowledges not only our operational achievements but the remarkable efforts of every team member who has elevated KlasJet to this new level of international recognition and reliability.'

KlasJet signs ACMI agreement with Air Cairo
KlasJet partners with Air Cairo to operate summer charter flights from Milan and Sharjah to Cairo, supporting Egypt's growing tourism demand. KlasJet, an exclusive private and corporate jet charter company that is part of the world's largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, Avia Solutions Group, has signed an agreement with Air Cairo to provide chartered flights this summer. The agreement sees KlasJet operate charter flights for Air Cairo taking holidaymakers from Milan (Italy) and Sharjah (UAE) to Cairo (Egypt). The contract started on 30th May 2025 and will run until 31st October. Air Cairo was founded in 2003 and is partly owned by EgyptAir, Egypt's state-owned national airline. The carrier currently operates more than 30 aircraft, mostly A320s, and its main business focus is charter flights from Europe to Egypt's most popular holiday destinations. KlasJet became the very first ACMI provider based in an EASA-regulated country working with Air Cairo. Despite the differences in procedures and regulations, KlasJet secured a three-day turnaround from signing the agreement to the ferry flight to Cairo on May 30th. 'We have been able to get alignment on all operational and crew-related topics thanks to the flexible and proactive approach of our team – who flew out to Cairo to ensure everything progressed smoothly – and the strong commitment on both sides to clear communication and a partnership-based approach,' said Vytautas Mikuckas, Head of Wet Lease Department at KlasJet. The partnership between Air Cairo and KlasJet is helping meet an upsurge in tourism, a sector that is vital to Egypt. In the period from July to September last year, tourism revenue hit $4.8 billion, a significant uplift for Africa's second-largest economy. 'We are delighted to be partnering with KlasJet for these charters, and we know they will offer tourists to Egypt an excellent experience that will add to the overall enjoyment of their stay here,' stated Air Cairo's executive.

Ascend Airways adds 5th aircraft to growing fleet, secures Canadian AOC
Ascend Airways adds fifth Boeing 737-8 MAX, gains Canadian FAOC, and accelerates expansion to meet rising demand for fuel-efficient ACMI services. Ascend Airways, UK-based ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) and charter airline, has taken delivery of its 5th aircraft – Boeing 737-8 MAX. Part of Avia Solutions Group, the world's largest ACMI provider, the airline has also secured its Canadian Foreign Air Operator Certificate (FAOC), marking another significant milestone in its rapid expansion. The aircraft, registered as G-ULIT, received its Certificate of Airworthiness on June 3, 2025 and will be immediately deployed onto a long-term wet lease contract. This addition represents the fourth Boeing 737-8 MAX in Ascend Airways' fleet. 'I want to thank the entire team at Ascend Airways for their hard work and dedication in adding three aircraft over the past two months,' says Alastair Willson, CEO of Ascend Airways. 'Our growing fleet positions us perfectly to meet the growing demand for reliable ACMI services in the UK and other markets with the newest generation of aircraft.' This has been a year of significant growth for the company, which started 2025 with just two aircraft and now operates five. The airline plans to add further Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft over the coming months, with the goal of operating a total of eight aircraft by year-end. The Boeing 737-8 MAX aligns with Ascend Airways' strategy of offering the latest technology and most fuel-efficient aircraft to customers. The MAX 8 reduces CO2 emissions by 20% and has a 40% lower noise footprint compared to previous-generation aircraft, enabling customers to reduce their environmental impact when adding capacity. In addition to fleet expansion, Ascend Airways has received its Canadian FAOC, which allows the airline to commence ACMI operations in Canada. The approval comes in time for the peak season of travel in Canada during the IATA Winter season of which Ascend Airways currently has availability on B737-8 MAX aircraft. Ascend Airways is also in the final stages of gaining it's FAA 129 approvals which will allow the Airline to operate ACMI and Charter flights to the US and also in the process of gaining it's IOSA approvals.

KUALA LUMPUR: Ascend Airways Malaysia, a new Malaysia-based airline and part of Avia Solutions Group, has progressed to phase three of the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) application process and is targeting the launch of cargo operations in November 2025. In 2024, Ascend Airways Malaysia secured a Conditional Air Service Permit from the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) and began the process of obtaining an AOC from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM). In a statement today, the Kuala Lumpur-based aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI) and charter airline said it will offer both passenger and cargo services. 'The airline's first Boeing 737-800 freighter is scheduled to arrive in Malaysia in the third quarter of 2025 to support the final stages of the AOC process and the launch of cargo operations. 'Two passenger-configured Boeing 737-800 aircraft will follow, with deliveries expected by the end of 2025 and early 2026,' it said. Ascend Airways Malaysia chief executive officer Germal Singh Khera said the airline aims to become a trusted ACMI partner, helping carriers enhance operational agility and meet growing demand for passenger and cargo services across the Asia-Pacific region. 'As a new ACMI airline in Malaysia, we are continually grateful for the support, global outlook, and proactive approach extended by the Ministry of Transport, CAAM, MAVCOM, and other relevant authorities advancing the aviation industry in Malaysia.
