Ayush Mhatre-led India U-19 thrashes England Young Lions in Tour Match
India Under-19 thrashed England Young Lions by 231 runs in a high-scoring Tour Match played at Loughborough on Tuesday. The Ayush Mhatre-led side hammered 444 for nine in 50 overs with Harvansh Pangalia notching up a hundred and three players — Rahul Kumar, Kanishk Chouhan and RS Ambrish — scoring half-centuries. The skipper failed to get going and was out for one while IPL young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi added 17 runs to the scoreboard before his dismissal. Manny Lumsden picked four wickets for the Young Lions and Matthew Fibrank took three. With India's total surpassing 400, its opponent was in for a tough chase. Opener and skipper Will Bennison top-scored for the side, bringing up a fighting hundred, but the remaining batters failed to make significant contributions. Deepesh Devendran shone with the ball for India U-19, taking three wickets. Naman Pushpak and Vihaan Malhotra picked two scalps apiece, capping off India's all-round performance in a massive victory ahead of the multi-format Tour.
