Uttarakhand CM meets Union Health Minister, urges for expansion in air ambulance fleet
Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Health Minister JP Nadda at his official residence in Delhi on Tuesday. The Chief Minister requested the Union Health Minister JP Nadda to expand the air ambulance service in Uttarakhand and also underlined the need for enhancing helicopter services to meet any exigencies in the hilly and inaccessible areas of the state. The Chief Minister also urged the Union Minister to increase the central contribution per SECC family under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme from Rs 1,052 to Rs 1,500. The meeting between Uttarakhand CM and Union Health Minister centred around giving a fillip to the medical and healthcare facilities in the hilly state. CM Dhami later told the press that the construction work of two new medical colleges in Uttarakhand is going on a war-footing and added that Jagjivan Ram Medical College (Pithoragarh) and Pt. Ram Sumer Shukla Medical College (Rudrapur) will soon start teaching work from the academic year 2026-27. He also expressed gratitude to the Centre for the contribution of AIIMS experts in the Char Dham Yatra and for including travel duty in the Post Graduate Doctors Residency (DRP). Besides the two medical colleges, the Chief Minister drew the attention of the Union Minister towards Tehri Medical College, being built in collaboration with Tehri Hydro Development Corporation Limited. He also urged the Centre to expedite the establishment of a state-of-the-art trauma centre at Srinagar Medical College. He said this initiative is not only important for the local population, rather it will also prove to be a lifesaver for the pilgrims and tourists passing through the Char Dham Yatra routes and the surrounding mountainous regions. Notably, the Char Dham Yatra this year got marred by multiple incidents of flash floods and landslides, resulting in the loss of several lives while putting the lives of tourists as well as pilgrims in peril. Union Minister JP Nadda is understood to have assured all possible assistance and support to the state government.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta flag off Ayushman Bharat registration vans in New Delhi
New Delhi: Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta flagged off Ayushman Bharat registration vans in Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on Sunday. Addressing the event, the BJP chief slammed the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for not using Rs 1700 crore under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme for public welfare. He said, "Under PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, we had given Rs 1700 crore to Delhi between 2021 to February 2025, but not one penny was spent, and now the responsibility of the expenditure of this fund for the public welfare has fallen on the shoulders of (Delhi CM) Rekha ji." Continuing his attack against AAP, he added, "We were ready to quench Delhi's thirst with water, but you kept the vessel upside down, so what could be done? On February 20, you turned up the vessel, so you got Ayushman Bharat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ready to provide Rs 5 lakh for the poor's healthcare since September 2, 2017. Their pride came in between. They did injustice to the poor." Lauding Ayushman Arogya Mandir , Nadda targeted Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic and called AAP shortsighted. "A wise man is farsighted and thinks of Ayushman Arogya Mandir, and shortsighted ones bring Mohalla Clinics. From the time a mother conceives a child to the time the child turns two, Ayushman Arogya Mandir takes care of all the vaccinations. India is playing a lead role in reproductive and child health care," JP Nadda said. Last month, on June 17, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Ministers Parvesh Verma and Manjinder Singh Sirsa inaugurated Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the national capital. After the inauguration, Manjinder Singh Sirsa informed that 33 Ayushman Aarogya Mandirs were inaugurated with excellent infrastructure and facilities. "A total of 33 Arogya Mandirs have been inaugurated today, and they have excellent infrastructure", Manjinder Singh Sirsa said. Meanwhile on May 18, in a major boost to healthcare under the Pradhan Mantri Vay Vandana Yojana , Delhi Minister Ashish Sood distributed Ayushman Bharat cards to senior citizens aged 70 and above in Janakpuri, West Delhi.

New Delhi [India], July 6 (ANI): As Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta distributed appointment letters to 1400 nurses on Sunday, CM Gupta said that the government is making efforts to tackle the shortage of medical staff and medicines. Rekha Gupta told the reporters, 'It is a matter of great joy that, after many years in the history of the Delhi government, appointment letters for permanent nursing staff have been distributed by the government. For years, due to a shortage of staff, Delhi's hospitals have been running in a disorganised manner. The government has made significant efforts within its tenure to fill these vacancies, and today, approximately 1,400 nurses have been given appointment letters.' Delhi CM further congratulated the health department and the Health Ministry. 'Our effort is to ensure that there is no shortage of medicines, doctors, staff, or infrastructure in Delhi's hospitals. From the bottom of our hearts, we extend heartfelt congratulations to the entire health department, the Health Ministry, and the Health Minister. We request everyone to come together and serve the people of Delhi,' CM Gupta said.
