Gattu Block Ranks 5th Nationally in NITI Aayog Delta Ranking, Earns ₹1 Crore Award for Outstanding Development Progress
Gadwal: In a remarkable achievement, Gattu Block in Jogulamba Gadwal district has secured 5th place nationally and 2nd place in Zone-3 (comprising Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala) in the Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) 2024–25 Delta Ranking for Q4 (January–March 2025) released by NITI Aayog. District Collector B. M. Santosh, IAS shared this proud update, stating that Gattu Block's exceptional performance in the latest national rankings has earned it a recognition award of ₹1 crore, which will soon be presented by NITI Aayog. The rankings were announced during a virtual event organized by NITI Aayog, where representatives from all 500 Aspirational Blocks across the country participated. As part of the celebrations, the "Wall of Fame" at the NITI Aayog Headquarters now features the success stories of top-performing blocks. This initiative highlights how Aspirational Blocks and District Programmes are working in alignment with India's vision for a Developed Nation by 2047. Ranking Methodology: The Delta Rankings were assessed based on 39 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) categorized under five crucial development themes: 1. Health and Nutrition 2. Education 3. Agriculture and Allied Services 4. Basic Infrastructure 5. Social Development Between the third quarter (October–December 2024) and the fourth quarter (January–March 2025), Gattu Block's composite score improved from 61.24 to 69.43, recording an impressive 8.19% growth. Collector's Appreciation: District Collector lauded the tireless efforts of Gattu Block officials, departmental heads, and frontline workers, stating: 'This is a result of collective and coordinated efforts. All departments have shown dedication and commitment towards achieving 100% KPI targets.' He extended heartfelt congratulations to all stakeholders involved and expressed confidence that the district would continue to excel in national-level development programmes. This milestone not only reflects the administrative efficiency and grassroots commitment in Gattu Block but also serves as an inspiration for other blocks across the country to strive for accelerated, inclusive, and sustainable development.

District Credit Plan 2025–26 Unveiled: ₹6,472.29 Crores Allocated to Boost Agriculture, MSMEs, and Priority Sectors in Jogulamba Gadwal
Gadwall: District Collector B.M. Santosh has unveiled the District Annual Credit Plan for 2025–26, setting a comprehensive loan target of ₹6,472.29 crores, and instructed banks to ensure prompt and wide-ranging loan disbursement, especially to farmers under crop and allied sector schemes. The announcement came during the District Consultative Committee (DCC) / District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting held on Thursday at the Conference Hall of the Collectorate. The session brought together key banking officials and representatives from various departments to coordinate credit deployment in alignment with district-level priorities. Speaking at the meeting, Collector Santosh emphasized the importance of adhering to the stipulated loan targets and urged banks to actively extend crop loans, employment unit loans, loans to micro and small enterprises (MSMEs), educational loans, housing loans, and other priority sector advances to eligible underprivileged populations. He particularly stressed on accelerating the sanctioning of crop loans and agricultural infrastructure loans, such as those for food processing units, warehouses, and cold storage facilities—all vital to strengthening the agri economy. To boost farmers' awareness about available credit options, the Collector proposed that awareness campaigns be held in all village-level Rythu Vedikas (Farmer Platforms) in collaboration with agricultural officers and bank staff. He also announced that a district-level awareness program on bank loans for farmers would be conducted at the Collectorate in the first week of July. PMFME Subsidy Disbursement & Loan Clearance for Small Businesses Under the Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme, the Collector directed bankers to immediately release the 35% subsidy amounting to ₹27.60 lakhs for 18 sanctioned units in the district. He also called for the speedy verification and resolution of pending loan applications from small business units, ensuring entrepreneurs are not held up due to delays. Educational & Housing Loan Focus Highlighting the need for balanced development, the Collector urged banks to demonstrate significant progress in the sanctioning of education and housing loans, areas where he felt more work needed to be done. He directed all banks to take necessary action to ensure at least 75% of overall targets across all sectors are achieved. Sector-wise Allocation in the 2025–26 Credit Plan Unveiling the district's credit plan for the year, Collector Santosh detailed the sectoral allocations as follows: Agriculture and Allied Activities: ₹4,945.14 crores Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs): ₹606 crores Other Priority Sectors: ₹192.84 crores Education Loans: ₹16.80 crores Housing Loans: ₹124.22 crores He mentioned that this year's target marks an increase of ₹1,221.21 crores over the previous year, signaling a strong push for inclusive credit growth. Officials in Attendance The meeting saw the presence of Additional Collector Narsing Rao, Lead District Manager (LDM) Srinivasa Rao, NABARD District Development Manager Manohar Reddy, RBI ATM Chetan, GM of Industries Ramalingeshwar Goud, along with representatives from various government departments and bank managers. Rs 140.07 Crores Credited Under Rythu Bharosa Scheme to Support 1.35 Lakh Farmers in Jogulamba Gadwal
Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh announced that financial aid amounting to ₹140.07 crores has been directly deposited into the bank accounts of small and marginal farmers across Jogulamba Gadwal district under the Rythu Bharosa (Farmer Investment Support) Scheme, ahead of the upcoming Vanakalam (Kharif) crop season. In an official statement, the Collector emphasized that the scheme, being implemented by the state government with the goal of farmer welfare and development, is significantly reducing the investment burden on farmers. As of Thursday evening (June 19, 2025), financial assistance has been disbursed to 1,35,024 farmers owning up to four acres of land. 'This timely deposit enables farmers to procure seeds, fertilizers, and pay labor charges without delay,' the Collector stated, underlining the importance of early support in ensuring smooth agricultural operations. The process involved accurate registration of farmers' bank account details and land information on the Rythu Bharosa portal by officials from the Agriculture Extension Department. The funds were released to eligible farmers based on this verified data. He assured that the remaining farmers will also receive the financial assistance soon. Collector Santosh highlighted that this scheme is not only providing economic relief but also enhancing mental stability among farmers. 'Providing assistance before the sowing season prevents farmers from falling into the trap of debts and allows them to begin cultivation with confidence,' he added. The Collector affirmed that the government's support extends to every acre of cultivable land, reflecting its commitment to stand by the farmers at every step. 'This is more than just a financial transaction — it is a testament to the trust and dedication the government holds toward our farmers,' he remarked. The Rythu Bharosa Scheme is increasingly being seen as a transformative initiative, aiming to boost agricultural productivity and empower rural communities by ensuring that small and marginal farmers receive necessary input support right when it is needed the most.

Collector Santosh Directs Officials to Intensify ‘Badi Bata' Campaign to Boost School Enrollment and Prevent Dropout
Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh has directed officials to implement the Badi Bata (School Enrollment Drive) program in a well-planned manner, not only to increase student enrollment in government schools but also to prevent dropouts. On Friday, a meeting was held at the IDOC Conference Hall with education department officials to review the Badi Bata program and the distribution of school uniforms. Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector emphasized the need to increase student enrollment in schools. He instructed that all students from classes 1 to 9 enrolled last academic year must be enrolled in classes 2 to 10 this year without fail. A clear list should be prepared showing which schools the children in Anganwadi centers will join, and welfare officers should ensure each child is enrolled accordingly. He stressed the identification of out-of-school children and the need to guide and enroll them in schools without exception. Daily action plans under the Badi Bata program should be submitted as reports. He also directed officials to visit every household, identify students studying in Anganwadi, government, and private schools, and update the village education register. The Collector instructed all officials to prevent child marriages and ensure that every child continues their education. He asked for awareness meetings to be conducted at the mandal level about school admissions. He also called for maintaining cleanliness and proper sanitation in schools. Parents should be made fully aware of the various benefits offered by the government to students studying in government schools, including free textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, digital education, scholarships, and other incentives. He further suggested promoting the academic success of Class 10 students in government schools to encourage enrollments. He instructed that high-quality school uniforms must be distributed to students by June 12, prior to the reopening of schools. APMs must ensure that the uniforms are submitted to Mandal Education Officers by June 11 without fail. Any school facing issues should submit detailed reports so immediate solutions can be provided. He also insisted that data on the number of students and the distribution of uniforms in each school must be available to avoid any complaints of students being left out. Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana, Narsinga Rao, DEO Abdul Ghani, DPO Nagendram, Welfare Officer Sunanda, ED SC Corporation Ramesh Babu, Mandal Education Officers, APMs, and others attended the meeting.

Bhu Bharati Initiative Gains Momentum: Collector Santosh Leads Village-Level Drive to Resolve Land Disputes
Gadwal: The District Collector B.M. Santosh has emphasized that the Bhoomi Bharati program is playing a crucial role in addressing land-related disputes at the village level. He made these remarks while participating in a Revenue Grievance Redressal Camp organized at the Village Panchayat Office of Anantapuram in Gadwal Mandal on Tuesday. During his visit, the Collector reviewed the process of application acceptance, issuance of receipts by registrars, and the types of land issues being reported by applicants. He also personally interacted with the farmers, enquired about their land problems, and provided valuable suggestions on possible solutions. He issued clear directions to the officials, stressing the need to resolve land grievances promptly. The Collector stated that under the Bhu Bharati program, revenue officials are reaching out directly to villages to address and settle land disputes on-site. He informed that this program will be actively conducted across the district from June 3 to June 20, 2025. Collector Santosh advised farmers facing land-related problems to fill out the prescribed forms and submit them to the concerned authorities. He assured that revenue officials will be available from 9:00 AM until all applications are received each day, ensuring accessibility and support to every applicant. He instructed officials to act responsibly at every stage of the process, from form collection to online entry of application data, to ensure transparency and efficiency. He urged the public to fully utilize the opportunities presented by the Bhoomi Bharati camps being held in their villages. Several key officials were present during the event, including Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana, RDO Alivelu, Gadwal Tahsildar Mallikarjun, revenue department staff, farmers, and other local stakeholders. This initiative marks a significant step by the district administration in decentralizing land administration and delivering timely solutions to the common man's land issues right at their doorstep.
